She brought to life all his desires and he still wanted more. Great story and well drawn characters make Allure a compelling read. It's time to release your inner harlot!

Michelle Betham is a new author for me and after reading this amazing story, she won't be a one and done, she will be added to my priority list. This story pulled me in and wouldn't let me go. I couldn't wait to see what would happen next and I'll share a little with you.
Neal Cannon is a wealthy, successful, art dealer from Manhattan that travels a lot for his job. He's also handsome and could have any woman he wants but Neal doesn't do relationships of any kind. If there's a woman in his company, he's calling the shots, and it's usually by way of a high class escort. He has given himself rules, and they've worked. His reasons are his own and he's never felt he needed to share. He never felt the need to change.
Kira Blu, 36, beautiful, popular, escort, has been in this world for over ten years. She knows her job inside and out and is damn good at it and that's why she gets paid the big bucks, sets her own calendar and sets her own rules. She's totally in control of her path and what she wants. Her reasons for becoming an escort and the rules are her own and she's never felt the need to share or change.
Neal is in the UK on business and he decides that he doesn't want to spend the night alone so he browses the agency websites and finds the listing for Kira. He's intrigued by many things in her profile and with no picture to go on, decides to contact her to see if she's free for dinner to start with. There's some banter on the phone while they discuss terms and agree to meet. An hour till she gets there and he thinks things should get interesting.
Neal and Kira don't expect what they see in each other. They both have an instant attraction, instant chemistry and they both instantly feel comfortable with each other. They decide dinner isn't as important as getting upstairs to be alone together. Once upstairs, things progress and they both are surprised even more.
I'm not going into a lot of detail here but let's say we have some really sexy, spicy scenes and lots of interesting back and forth between Kira and Neal. These characters, find something in each other, they weren't looking for. These two people, with reasons for doing what they do, living like they do, have to address their pasts in order to move on with their futures, especially if they want to do it together. They are questioning themselves and each other. Happiness is worth fighting for and they both realize they want that.
A wonderfully written story with a great group of characters, main and secondary. I loved Joey, best friend and a little more and his support through this book. Who doesn't need a friend like him? I know I've had one for years. This book is the first in the series and could be read as a stand alone. I am really looking forward to what Michelle does in book two, Obsession.

Allure is the first book in the Forbidden series by Michelle Betham. It has all the ingredients of a enthralling erotic romance; intense passion, serendipitous encounters, hot graphic love scenes and forbidden romance. These are interwoven into a simple but compelling plot, which make this story, a must read.
The encounter between an escort and a businessman has connotations of ‘Pretty Woman’ but this story goes deeper into the emotional turmoil Kira and Neal experience. Ghosts from the past infiltrate their physical relationship and let them hope for something more, than the emotionally barren life they currently live.
Kira and Neal are complex, likeable, full of flaws and vulnerability that make you see beyond their prickly exterior. The supporting characters are equally realistic and enrich the story.
If you enjoy hot romance enhanced with true romance this story is for you.

I hate giving up on a book but I really wish I'd given up on this one, it was dreadful. I know she was a high paid escort and he was a client but 80% of this was just sex and role play. The other 20% was her dithering about going back and forth regarding her feelings for him. Their reasons for being the way they were, were also very weak. The whole book really went nowhere and at the end their story isn't finished and the next instalment is a few months away. I for one will not be bothering to read it. I wouldn't recommend this book at all and wish I hadn't wasted my time.
