I was given this ARC for a fair and honest review.
I was so happy to see Miriams' story...i love this gal...she is a sweetheart and only deserves the best, and she got it in Jake. Miriam recently had a double mastectomy and her femininity was in question... not to the people who surround her but herself. The boss decided to send her under cover to take down Joe, a slimy bar owner who takes advantage of all around him and doesn't hesitate to hurt or destroy the ones who love him, by the request of Joes' twin brother Jake. Not knowing the two are twins, Miriam is torn between the two sides of Jake she sees. The truth comes out that they are twins, just before a Mexican gang gets a hold of them. This story is a fast paced and great read... and I applaud Anne Conley for touching on a very important subject that many women face daily, breast cancer.

Title: CLICK
Series: Pierce Securities #3
Category /Genre: Contemporary Romance
Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content
Received from: Anne Conley (in exchange for an honest review)
Grammar/editing: ungraded – book received as an unedited ARC / errors excused

This is the third book in the Pierce Securities series. Each does stand alone, though there are updates concerning each of the previous couples and I would definitely recommend reading all and in the order of release for maximum understanding and enjoyment.

When I was younger (in the 1970s), there were a lot of little memes around (though we didn’t call them memes in those days) that started with, “Happiness is…” In my life, one of my “happiness is..” statements would be, “ Happiness is a new ARC from a favorite author.” Anne Conley is one of those authors and this is one of those ARCs. I am so happy that I got to read Miriam’s story.

Miriam has been facing one of those fears that many of us confront every October. Because of family history and having faced that dragon three times in two years, she has decided to take an unconventional path in hopes of avoiding the beast. Though it was her decision, it has left her with feelings of diminished femininity and the fear of a lonely future. Add in a past abusive relationship, a team of co-workers who are alpha to the point of occasionally being overbearing, and the confusion of unknowingly meeting twins – one intriguing and the other a slime bucket - and Miriam is facing one tough, confusing, and scary time in her life.

Only Anne Conley could bring the laughter to balance the fears, the gentle to .balance the alphas, and the drama to balance the temptation to be too sugar sweet in pursuing the romance in the story.

My only complaint (the one I always have when reading from Anne Conley) is that we now have to wait for the next book. Yes, you distinctly heard me whining there.

Once again Anne Conley delves into the lives of the Pierce Securities gang!!
To be totally honest I was a little heartbroken that Quentin wasn't the love interest for Miriam, I was SOOOOO HIS cheerleader.
Jake has a huge issue and it's his lying sneak of a twin brother, He of course turns to Pierce Securities for help trying to recover his parents hard earned money. One issue, they need a f3male for the job and the only female at Pierce is Mother figure Miriam.
Miriam has enough of being not appreciated by the men in her life and she needs a kick start to get her femininity back after she has a voluntary mastectomy due to family history.
She gets sent undercover to see if she can get to the bottom of the trouble Jake's seems to attract...... One issue, she has no idea Mr. Callahan is the twin brother to Jake, the kind handsome man that she meets in the grocery store stocking up on wine AND technically her client.
Miriam starts to fall for Jake but thinks he has Jekyll and Hyde syndrome due to the differences when he is at the bar.
Come to find out that Mr. Callahan angered the wrong people and he sends Miriam and unbeknownst to her his brother Jake on a gun run to Mexico. Miriam is in for the surprise of her life when she finally finds out the truth.
Will it be too late? Will she finally take a chance? Or will it be too late?
I can't wait for the next installment in this series. I LOVE all the guys and wait to see who's next!!

I recieved an ARC for an honest review.

Click had a hold of me from the begining!! I love to see a sweet young woman stand up and show her strong and take charge side. Miriam really made me admire all the women who go through hell and back and still manage to stand tall. Not only does her past have a role in her sadness, but a big role in the woman she has become. She stands her ground with the Hot, sexy alpha males of Pierce Securities, but can also do so while undercover with barfull of drunks, and a sleazeball for a boss. Though recent events cause her to second guess her romantic future, it only takes a trip to the grocery store, a camera, a twin mix up, and confession of her past to get her in to the arms of her perfect match, Jake Callahan.
Jake is a handsome, divorced, photographer who finds out he not only has to take care of himself now that he's alone, but he has to look out for his parents since his slimy twin brother is swindeling them out of their cash. Hiring Pierce Securities to find his parent's money takes him on an adventure, complete with Mexican Mafia members, weapons, and bad deals made by his twin, and straight into the arms of a sweet but strong Miriam.
I love Miriam and Jake's journey, and the stength in each, regardless of past mistakes and losses. I can't say enough about how good this story is, but can only keep asking Anne Conley for more!!!

I received an advance readers copy today and I couldn't put it down.
This book was wonderful.
This installment of the Pierce Security books made me laugh, cry, and also feel moments of sadness.
I really felt connected with the characters.

Spoiler

---hearing about the birth of her child had me in tears, not ugly sobbing, but sadness tears. I'm thankful that there wasn't a lot of details to her loss.

I have 2 small complaints-
one- I expected more details in the action scenes. the Van was my least favorite because it lacked the climax.
two- that the next book isn't available. hah!!

Anne- you did a wonderful job writing this.
Thank you for allowing me the privilege of reading before I have my baby.

Wow that was a story...I didn't realize is was part of a series, but was not lost while reading the book. Jake hires a securities company to find out what his brother Joe did with the money he borrowed from their parents. Miriam works there and gets sent undercover for the case. These two go through so much crap that would destroy lesser people. They the fumble around each other and almost don't get things fixed...even before they ever get started.

I loved the guys Miriam works with and have to go and read the other two books to get to know more about them now. Definitely need to read more books by Anne Conley in the future.

I have been a fan of the Pierce Securities series since book one. I have often wondered about Miriam, the secretary/mother figure of the group. She seemed like a strong woman who was hiding some deep dark secrets and finally we get to see behind her mask with Click.

Life had forced her to accept loss and betrayal and learn to pick up the pieces once those things happened. The connection she had with the guys at the security office was her main source of support. She begins to feel they take advantage of her for what she can do for them and not seeing the strong woman she has fought to become, so she jumped at the chance to take part in the latest job that came to the team.

She never expected to make a connection with Jake Callahan when she first saw him, but soon she will realize there is more to Jake than what appears on the surface. He is carrying the weight of a burden regarding family and questions that demands answers. Little did he realize that his quest for knowledge will lead him to Miriam and the answers could tear them a part.

I loved the intensity of this story. Miriam’s life will touch the hearts of women all over once you find out the fear she is carrying and how she decided to fight against the demon that resided within her. Watching Jake step out on his own, discarding the shadow that hovered over him for his whole life was heart breaking at times. Disappointment, loss, love and passion will weave a story for Miriam and Jake that will keep you on the edge of your seat and melting with emotion.

Anne Conley has a way of making her characters connect to the readers, giving each of us a chance to say finally someone understands how we feel. Miriam and Jake, both are haunted by things that came from life, not of their own choices and to see the strength in them come to surface and overcome it was inspiring.

I did receive a free ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have not read the other books previous to this book #3, as this was a standalone.

The main characters, Jake & Miriam. In Click, Miriam has fears from losing her mom and aunt to breast cancer. She choose to make a life altering decision that she feels is in her best interest however that leaves her questioning her femininity.

Jake has a twin brother, who has been taking money from their parents retirement savings. Jake knows something is going on with his brother, so, he hires a detective agency to look into his brother and his business affairs.

Miriam is sent in to be the bookkeeper for the brother's business. But, keeps seeing Jake around town through their neighborhood. Jake & Miriam do talk, and show interest in each other. However, Miriam thinks Jake his her boss, not Jake. She doesn't know they are identical twins. Sometimes through this book it is a little confusing who we are talking about, Jake or the twin brother.

Anne’s books like to touch on real life events that happen every day in people’s lives. Things that some author’s don’t want to touch on.

It was a great read.

I have to say that after reading all 3 of the books in this series, I think this one might be my favorite! If I could rate it higher than a 5 I most definitely would. After reading Wire, book 2, I thought for sure that I knew where Ms. Conley was going to take Miriam's story. But she definitely shocked me with where she took it and I'm sure that is why I love it so much! Amazing story line, the story flowed so well and again the character development was superior! As characters are added to the fold, as readers we become as well acquainted with them as well as we are with the other men of Pierce Security. I am definitely anxious to find out who book 4 is going to be about, especially after the introduction that came at the very end and the fact that Zach is back! Great job Ms. Conley!

In Click, Miriam has fears from losing her mom and aunt to breast cancer. She choose to make a life altering decision that she feels is in her best interest however that leaves her questioning her femininity. When finding someone, Jake, that makes her heart go pitter patter, Miriam has to conquer her own fears and reach out and let him know her past or she could lose out on the perfect man for her. The story is well written and flows smoothly. Anne’s books are refreshing to read because they are different from every other romance book you pick up to read. She captures real life events, tragedies and emotions and brings them to the reader’s awareness. Another great read!

Anne Conley has created another master piece. Jake and Miriam's story is one book that you don't want to miss.

I was excited to read Miriam's story. I loved that Anne created a book about something that a lot of women go through. Brest cancer is serious, but it fit perfectly in the book.

As always, I am excited to read the next book! If you haven't read this series, I highly recommend it. All of the books are standalone, so grab your copy of Click and dive into this series head first!

By far my favourite of the series. I really enjoyed the other two books but the characters in this book stole my heart. Anne Conley pulls you in and you can feel the emotions of each character. You truly feel what they are going through.
Jake & Miriam are the most amazing pair and I highly recommend this book.

I felt like I was at a disadvantage by starting this Series with "Click". By starting this Series with Book 3, I didn't have the background on the folks that make-up Piece Securities or a clear understanding of the company's objectives.
This story was jammed packed, as it included a variety of different subject matters-- Mistaken Identity, Evil Twin vs. Good Twin, Elective Double Mastectomy, Femininity & Sexuality, Single Fatherhood, Under-Cover Agent, Drug Lords, Gun Running, and Violent Behaviors.
The main characters (Jack & Miriam) are two very likable, loyal, and hardworking people. You would think a photographer and an office manager with similar values and share a mutual sexual attraction
would be able to develop a romantic relationship. That would not be the case for these two, as Miriam and Jack's relationship is confusing from day one, as they have to deal with all of the above listed subject matters. This is not a typical relationship and that is what makes this book intriguing.

This book was not my type of romantic story to read not that I'm judging people who have battled cancer but clearly this author chose to have a character remove her breasts because she had "a high chance" of getting cancer, she didn't even have cancer. Also on top of that she was insecure and wanted to stay the way she was? Ok? Miriam was also abused and had lost her child (stillborn) so this character is a sad case scenario. Jake is also a sad character, he's intimidated by bigger men and according to his wife Anna who cheated on him with his twin brother Joe, is apparently no good at sex so naturally Jake gets a divorce with Anna and she keeps their kid Drew? Hmmm.

This whole book is a very sad and kind of Twisted book not my style of reading plus I don't enjoy my characters doing drugs or the mischief of finding trouble through the mafia, not cool. Not only did the characters do drugs but it explained the experience of using, which could lead readers to be curious; not that I am but there should be a warning label somewhere on the book...

The story has laughs, pain, secrets, murder, suspense, and heartbreak. I was pulled right into this story.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Craze (Pierce Securities, #1)
Wire (Pierce Securities #2)

This is Miriam and Jake’s story. Miriam is the only woman in the security office. She is like a mother to all the men. But when they need a woman for one of the missions she steps up. She is determined to prove she can do it. But when things go a little crazy will they bench her? Or will she get another shot at proving she is up to it? What happens when danger comes for her? Will they lose her or will she fight to come back? Jake falls for her fast but misunderstanding lead to a lot of heartbreak. Can they figure out their feelings or is this the end?

I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book, can’t wait for the next story in this series.

I'm glad that Miriam got her story. She is as much a part of Pierce Securities as any of the guys. I'm also glad that the author brought attention to who breast cancer can affect a woman's self esteem. I can see how having a mastectomy could cause a person to feel like they are less than they were prior to surgery, and gave me a greater respect for survivors.

Unfortunately, I just couldn't get into the story.

Loved it

I am a new reader to this author, but I absolutely loved this book. I laughed some and I cried some and even got that warm fuzzy feeling too. Pierce Securities is an eclectic bunch of alpha males who are slowly but surely being won over (one book at a time) by some amazingly strong females. I won't ruin it for you, but you have got to get this serious. You won't regret it, I know. 👍

Awesome add to the series. Miriam is amazing and I was very excited to see her get her story here. Love that she feels like a real woman, dealing with a lot and trying to find her way again. Jake is a surprise she was not expecting. Exciting read and I can't wait for the next. I voluntarily reviewed an 'Advance Author’s Copy' of this book.

Another good one

Mariam has always taken care of the guys, but this time she took 3 weeks off to take care of herself. She hasn't told the guys she has a double mastectomy to avoid getting cancer like the one her mom & aunt died from. Jake has hired the guys to find out what bad things his brother is doing. Keep reading.

Double Trouble

Rating this story was a very difficult thing to do, I thought at first. Miriam's life was interesting with a bit of confusion. However the author presented an intriguing series of events leading up to and even more special ending.
