Undoubtedly the most profound book on the View of Dzogchen that I have ever read.
I will probably be reading this book again and again for the rest of my life.(lives!)

March 2, 2020The Chö Ying Dzöd (The Precious Treasury of the Basic Space of Phenomena) contains the essence of the 6,400,000 Dzogchen Tantras, elucidating the view, meditation, and conduct of the spiritual path, and the final freedom that is the fruition of that path. The three divisions of Great Perfection teachings (the Mind Division, the Space Division, and the Pith Instruction Division) are all synthesized within the Chö Ying Dzöd. Since the time of Longchenpa, all masters of the Great Perfection have meditated upon the Chö Ying Dzöd as a means of attaining liberation. It is the most famous of Dzogchen texts among all scholars and mahasiddhas.
The Chö Ying Dzöd (The Precious Treasury of the Basic Space of Phenomena) itself is considered a sacred object, capable of bringing immense blessings to those who make a connection with it. If you can keep the text with you, you can attain liberation through touching (tak-drol). If you can hear the text recited, it brings liberation through hearing (t’hö-drol). If you can read and meditate upon the meaning of the text, you can achieve the fully enlightened state of a dharmakaya Buddha.
For Great Perfection practitioners, during our lifetimes, we can read the Chö Ying Dzöd as a daily practice, integrating the profound meaning of this precious text with our minds. With repetition, we can seal its meaning in our minds, so the meaning and our mind become inseparable. When the meaning is sealed inseparably with our minds, then we can chant the words with the beautiful melodies of songs of realization (doha). This causes blazing faith and devotion to arise, leading to the natural arising of ultimate wisdom realization.

Wonderful song of appearance-emptiness from the Dzogchen tradition. A profound root text in English and Tibetan.

This is a wonderful text that goes beyond philosophy. It is a challenge to put into words a state of consciousness that is beyond the duality of concepts, qualifications and classifications. It is a book on the practice of Dzogchen. I would say it is a book for advanced meditation practitioners, who already have experience in the practices of Shamata and Vipassana. Otherwise, it is likely to become nihilistic, extreme, repetitive or philosophically empty. For me, it is one of the most inspiring texts for spiritual practice and life.

Excellent!! Wondrous!!!
150 pages of pointing out Nirvana
Unobstructed emptiness
Extremely accurate by my assessment
And very helpful
The only thing I was a little iffy on is describing Awakening as already the case
But it seems to mean that this simply means that there’s nothing that needs to be done to construct Awakening, simply only to let go of all of construction - which obscures Awakening
So Awakening always there - like the sun, and constructions - like clouds, only obscure it, and the clouds are let go of
It seems to me ontologically iffy to presuppose though that Awakening is always the case, only obscured
Perhaps it’s not the case when it’s obscured and the case when it’s not?
Regardless of this, no matter - the key seems to be to let go of all reification - even in these instructions
Then Nirvana is manifest, the goal of the path
The description of Awakening as already the case seems to be a helpful device to allow a mind to feel safe and relaxed enough to let go of all reification, knowing that Awakening lies in wait - unconstructed

An exquisitely articulated view from the summit... in poetry. May all beings benefit from this most precious treasure!

In my opinion this is the most important written text on this planet. Written by the Tibetan realised master, Longchenpa, in it he explains the enlightened state in the most concise language possible. Wonder what life is all about? - here is the answer.
