The Bug Zapper: A Short Horror Story

Rate this book
Martha, a garage sale enthusiast, discovers a good deal on a seemingly innocuous bug zapper—innocuous other than to bugs, of course—and brings it home as a surprise for her husband. One evening two weeks later, however, at a home barbecue for invited couples from the office, an invited client recognizes the bug zapper from his past, and they soon discover Martha may have instead brought home a deadly supernatural glowing entity.

Includes Brian L. Blank’s first published short story “The Revenant,” which eventually inspired his first published novel, The Revenant: A Horror in Dodsville.

Brian L. Blank knew he wanted to become a writer since reading Dick and Jane books in kindergarten. By age nine he was already writing horror stories to scare his friends on late summer evenings. He grew up in Medford, Wisconsin, a small town in the northern part of the state. Even though he moved to Nevada after graduating from college, he uses fictional small towns set in Wisconsin for most of his writings. The Revenant is his first completed horror novel. He currently teaches high school English in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he has resided for the past twenty years.
