Rate this book
Maddie Alexander, happily married, age twenty six, suddenly witnesses a critical moment that plunges her into every woman’s worst nightmare. She suddenly finds herself mixed up in a romantic betrayal, taunted by a mistress, caught in the center of a mysterious plot fueled by greed, and tricked into a billionaire’s game of revenge. A love story about passion, lust, betrayal, redemption, and masculine rivalry as two handsome millionaires fight to gain Maddie’s love.

A milder version of the Ace’s High Series, Deuces Wild is pure romance. Every individual experiences that one moment in life, a pivotal action, a decision, or a meeting with another person that changes their future forever. The first view of someone, the attraction. A thread that joins you to a stranger. A rush of desire to know them. A strong love can either fulfil or destroy, create bonds or shred hearts. The Deuces Wild Series offers stories of contemporary women managing that paramount instant of awareness. Characters from the Deuces Wild and Ace’s High series make reoccurring appearances, intermixing with Maddie in downtown Minneapolis.

No cliffhangers, MADDIE, Betrayed is a standalone full length romance. Novel includes original illustrations from a well-known Minneapolis architect & artist.

This was a nice way to spend the afternoon.

The book opens with Maddie overhearing her husband and OW as they walk through a hotel lobby on their way to their room. It's obvious he is having an affair and he is so busted!. My heart was pounding as I read those pages. It was intense!

Maddie leaves immediately and, for once, like any sane woman, she takes half of the money from their bank accounts and moves into a hotel. Go Maddie!

The story follows several points of view and we are left to wonder who is lying and just what exactly is going on. Did her husband cheat? Was it all a big setup? Why would someone want to break up her marriage? I enjoyed the mystery as we peel back the layers and get more information. However, at around 60% I felt like the plot got messy and there was some extreme insta love going on with the new love interest. The h also got a divorce in record time--just a few weeks?!? I also felt like the men in the story treated Maddie like an object or a prize to be won. She was little Miss Perfect, the woman who all men lust after, excelling at everything she touches.

The characters aren't very well fleshed out the book requires some major suspension of disbelief, but if you can just roll with it, it's a pretty fun story.

The beginning where she happens upon her cheating husband and the scene thereafter is gut-wrenching.

My first reading of this author.
I did not know the work of this author and I liked it very much.
The story is full of twists and turns which keeps the reader interested from start to finish.
I loved the heroine because she does not accept the cheater back! She moves her life forward and I was very happy with the development of the story.
She had moments of shock, sadness, anger, almost gave in to the cheater's requests because she still loved him, but saw what was best for her and moved on.
Her husband cheated because he thought he could and would not get caught.
I liked that the cheater screwed himself up and saw what he lost for a few hours of cheap sex.
And that well-known phrase that says who waits patiently always reaches the goal, it has actually been confirmed.
I recommend!

"Only, Logan was right. I went too far. I let Candy push me. I let the excitement, the temptation of the illicit get to me. I should never have drank so much or returned her passionate kisses. It was emotionless sex, animalistic roll-playing, careless actions, and now I was petrified that I was going to continually pay a heavy price for my behavior."

"Maddie’s father left her and her mother for a pregnant girlfriend."

"losing someone like Maddie for a few moments of lust with Candy was like accepting a ten dollar settlement on a million dollar lawsuit, insanely foolish."

This one is a tangle of bizarre, manipulative and extreme behavior by the men in the h's life. There's blatant cheating, but it is all so over-the-top that it's hard to take it seriously. There is also a nice element of 'justice is served" in terms of the cheating ex.

Sorry but

The story is unbelievable and Maddie is a pushover just flowing in anyone's direction.

Come on I really like cheating stories but Mason was an idiot and Scott I can't write what I think about him. He purposely sets everything up to steal Maddy. Yes Mason fell for it. But come on Scott is manipulates people who's to say he won't want another women later on down the line. It almost like it is all a game to him.

Maddie

This was such a fun read! I really enjoyed this story and how it played out for certain people. How half truths come out and bit you in the butt for both men. One was sort of manipulated and the other played him.
I loved how Maddie stayed strong after learning how much she was actually lied to, then slowly learning more. I totally didn't feel sorry for Mason he deserved what he got, wanted his cake and pie. Scott just went for it and got what he wanted for a long time. Then got help unknowingly.
Loved it!!

loved it, (contains spoilers)

Loved it. I’m so glad Maddie ended up with Scott. I was also happy she got what she was entitled to when she left Mason. Many times I read about heroines who leave with nothing and why? Maddie gave up her career to essentially take care of Mason. Why should she leave with nothing, so I’m glad she took her half. Go girl! Glad the cheater ended up with no hea. Scott… you either love or hate him. Is he manipulative… yes, but he recognized a good woman in Maddie and knew he could make her happier so personally I liked him and preferred him over Mason. I would definitely recommend 👍👏

Interesting story with that mystery to it. Yet written in a real simple way. It had it's intrigue, but for some reason not that enticing. The first part was the most enjoyable. Maybe it was just written in a short way and moved so fast that you weren't able to savor all of the happenings.
