Mark Dixon rules his women with an iron fist. When he arrives home and finds his wife has left him, his anger begins to build to dangerous levels. He knows he needs to find her and teach her a lesson, just as his father had done to his mother.

About the author

V.E. Avance

12 books78 followers

V.E. Avance grew up in Central California. She is a survivor of both child abuse and domestic violence. Instead of allowing her circumstances to define her, she has risen above and beyond. Though it hasn't always been an easy road, she chose to fight and struggle to pull herself from the depths of depression and anxiety. Though she cannot change the past, she is solely in charge of her future and refused to continue down the path of self-destruction that her abusers instilled in her.

On the Edge series was developed out of her strong will and determination. At the time the books were written, past events were haunting her every thought. She, like her main character, was falling down a rabbit hole. With every word she wrote, she was able to pull herself out of that hole. Now that Abby's story is done, V.E. Avance is on solid ground herself.

I couldn't put it down. She has a way of putting you in the story and making you feel it. I laughed out loud and cried. The book had me at the edge of my seat in anticipation and fear of what was going to happen next.

I absolutely loved this book! Ve Avance is great at pulling her readers in. She has story lines that few other authors are willing to write about. This really sets her apart from all others.

Leanna has decided to take control of her life. Tired of being a punching bag she takes off to start anew. She has one hell of a rough start but she is surprised when someone there is to help her pick up the pieces and start anew. Still life or karma whatever you want to call it has it out for her. Will she find the new beginning she is hoping for or will she be lost to it all? Read this amazing book to find put what happens!

Hope there is another to this book!

I must say this was a very exciting book to read. and now don't get me wrong.. i do NOT agree with the dark side to this book, but it has a sweet side that i adore. sometimes you need to take the bad with the good. it was interesting to read. loved the instant connection between Leanna and James. i'm really happy he was there to help her when she needed it, not only that but he saved her from a very dark person. you'll have to read it to find out more. i will just say this i really hope that Maryanne gets her own story as well as James friends <3

What a great story V.E. has given us about Leanna, a woman who is running away from her husband who beats her, and James, a man who has yet to start over from his divorce from his ex wife Rebecca. The story grips you right from the get go with Leanna leaving her husband and going on the run. She meets up with a Police Officer, James and they have a connection from the start. The storyline is great. The characters are strong and developed. Those are the two things that I require the most in a story. I hope we see more of Leanna and James in a future story.

I received an ARC for exchange for an honest review. V.E Avance did it again! This book grabs you from the start. It has an amazing storyline of a woman trying to get away from her abusive husband, and she tries to start over in a new place. It kept me guessing and wanting more, I couldn't put it down! The book had a good pace and didnt drag on which made it a very easy read. Would highly recomend this book.

I had the honor of reading this story before it was published. I literally sat and just read it until I was finished. It pulled me in and I couldn't wait to read what was next. Made me very anxious so I would have to re-read a few spots since I would scan through and read a little more to see what was coming! I loved the plot line and I cannot wait for the next book in the series to release!
