"Two Settle The Score" - (Episode 4 in the Sweet Southern Sleuths Short Stories): A Cozy Mysteries Women Sleuths Series.

With the Thanksgiving holiday right around the corner, twin sisters Loretta and Lacy Sweet are excited about their parents upcoming visit and to show them around their new home in the cozy town of Misery, Mississippi.

On the day that their parents are scheduled to arrive, Uncle Ichabod disappears, leaving a mysterious note behind.

Loretta, feeling compelled to track her uncle down, follows him to Las Vegas, accompanied by her reluctant twin sister, Lacy.

As they begin to sort through the clues to find their quirky relative, the amateur sleuths discover he's really there to settle an old score from years earlier.

Can the girls find Uncle Ichabod before it's too late...or will "bad blood" from the past put all of their lives in danger?

Of the four stories I've read, from this series, this is the best. Two Settle the Score is the fourth of the Sweet Southern Sleuths collection by Hope Callaghan. Lacy and Loretta Sweet are fraternal twin sisters who've inherited a house, a trailer park, a teepee attraction, and the care of their Uncle Ichabod. When their Uncle steals away to Las Vegas, the two nieces follow him to make sure he's OK. He's not. He's gotten himself in a bit of a bind. Fun, but also, harrowing danger ensues. You must like the characters and the story arcs that weave through the individual stories. Even though it’s part of a series you don’t need to have read the earlier stories to understand this one. Probably the most stand alone of the four first "books." This one isn't even 50 pages.

It is a cute little story if you have to kill some time in a waiting room or on the bus. I found it a bit annoying that most paragraphs start either with Lucy this or Loretta that. I couldn't quite understand why Loretta had to follow uncle Ichabod to Las Vegas who left a note that he would be back in a couple of days but oh well....

read as part of Cozy Mysteries Collection: Home & Holiday Edition
Twins that couldn't be more different take off their elderly uncle who seemed to have run off to Las Vegas. Good thing they did since it looks like there was more than just a couple card tables waiting for him. Too short-- no story depth which since this is a short story prob not too surprising. I just felt that the time reading (albeit just a short while ) was wasted.

Loretta and Lacy’s parents are coining for Thanksgiving, but Uncle Ichabod is no where to be found. Loretta finds out he has gone to si city. So mainly while Lacy plays the slot machines, Loretta tries to track down her Uncle. There are a lot of twists and turns but still a little fun thrown in. This is another great Hope Callaghan cozy mystery.

This is the fourth short cozy mystery in the series and so far my favorite one. Vegas bound! There is a missing uncle. Old scores to settle and an almost murder! Things get serious in this book but the girls are on it.

Rounded up to 2.5 stars. I liked this one the best of the four. Lacy wasn't quite so immature & selfish. She showed herself to be actually smart & quick-thinking. Uncle Ichabod was fun, too. Again, the solve came very quickly & abruptly.

I received a gift box with the first 4 books in the series. Overall, the plot is very unrealistic but still entertaining.

This is the fourth short story in Hope Callaghan’s Sweet Southern Sleuths Cozy Mystery Series and is a wonderful read. This book includes a well-plotted storyline, well-developed characters, and an interesting mystery to try to solve. Ms. Callaghan’s books do not have any adult language, graphic violence, or sexually explicit scenes. This short story held my interest throughout. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading light, cozy Christian mysteries.

Thanksgiving is just days away and the twins’ parents will be arriving soon but there’s a problem … Uncle Ichabod is missing! Loretta finally traces his movements through town and learns that he’s heading to Las Vegas to try to right a wrong. Loretta and Lacy follow him to Las Vegas and find themselves in a life-threatening situation.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I really do like how this book ended. it wasn't the typical murder case however the girls were looking for their uncle and he seems to have gotten himself into a little bit of trouble. I'm glad this time that Lacey actually helped out instead of leaving it up to Loretta. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Really getting into this series. Read the first 4 books in recoding time. Easy to read, just wish there was more character developement, seems the books are too short. Would like to see a relationship between Loretta and the police officer. Will read the next books in the series.
