I don't demand book/author perfection, but I damn sure demand a lot more than half-baked ideas and efforts.
This is just another example of too much half-baked sugar for a cheesy dime.
Getting To Know You
Our book here is told in split POV -
1. Clint:
Rockstar, rich, cocky, playboy, spoiled, heir to a mega music studio. Father expects him to find the next big music star.
2. Rachel:
Responsible and innocent farm girl with a suppppper-dupppper voice and edge of bitterness over being stuck to take care of her mentally ill mother.
Basically, the first 20% is individual POV from two people describing their very different farm and rockstar lives which eventually collide thanks to their music, his reality TV star search contest, & mutual friends of friends of friends.
Rachel...
I can immediate empathize with Rachel's plight in responsibility for her family and their farm. She's loyal, but bitterly so over the missed opportunities c/o her own life.
Sadly, the author goes overboard with the martyr routine and repeats it on full blast. I didn't need over 20% for me to get that her loyalty to her mom conflicts with her own dreams and that she's bitter her twin sister is off living her life.

He drinks and smokes pot w/ friends and snorts coke with his dad. He rambles about fucking women and his rockstar status. His music exec dad tells him to go find new talent.
Thus Clint and Rachel meet.
What Went Wrong
My first clue this book is going to be a real doozy is when Rachel goes to audition at a NIGHT CLUB for a singing completion and sings OPERA! Mmmmkay~
Engaged To A "Disgusting" Kisser That She Never Even Sees
Rachel is engaged for FOUR years to a guy, but:
•they've NEVER HAD SEX
•she sees him once a month
•he hasn't bought her a ring in four years
• he hangs up on her in the middle of "I love...."
•he pawns where she stays off on friends because he is too busy for her to stay with him.
• she calls his kisses "disgusting"
This is just over the top. Unbelievable! It's clear character assassination to advance the MC romance.
And, then I'm supposed to buy that she's known this guy all her life, been engaged four years to him, he's been hunkyFingDory until he just goes off the wall cursing and hitting her. Convenient that she just met the MC & he's there to save the day, aye?!?
Back to that kiss...
She and Clint kiss after what feels like a third grade tag game. Like wtf just keeps saying "kiss me" to some chick they don't know, who's saying no, and that's crying and running away? I digress. Anyway, Rachel's reaction to the kiss:
Kissing her Fing fiancé is "disgusting????" That kind of BS doesn't discredit her previous romance...it just obliterates & discredits the MC romantically.
Dear Author, Please Know Your Own Fing Characters
You're selling me a "dowdy" farm girl? Are you sure?
She's so backwoods poor that she sees nada wrong with wearing shit her mama handmade for her. Did I mention this is on TV? So, why would you have this girl reference "Louboutins" in her inner thoughts?
She's a crying, wilting wallflower one minute and this the next ...
Makes no sense character wise.

Cheese sauce has more game than this dude. The "kiss me" mantra aside... His attempt at joking was lame, and him thinking it was the smoothest smartest shit ever was even more lame.
He lights up a joint, which I guess is supposed to be badboy enough to offset him and his buddy having a 10 plus page convo that literally sounds like two school girls discussing their crushes.
"Giggles" ... The dudes "giggle" at themselves.
Fine if you want this as your character visual...

Already covered that it's:
•repetitive
•cheesy
•inauthentic
•unbelievable
•over the top
So, all that's left are technicalities. The editing is actually okay, surprisingly enough.
The dialogue sentences are stilted, and most are once sentence statements. Imagine profanity laced Dick and Jane books for dialogue. Upside? At least there's not much of it.
This book is inner mfing thought galore. The story is almost singularly propelled by internal ramblings, while dialogue is an afterthought *insert he said, she said here.*
No, seriously, these are 22-year-old women...
He loves you.. No.. Yea.. No... What's his dick like... *blush* ... I don't know... Ahhh.. He loves you... No.. Yes...

1. The author needs to look up the definition of agog. 2. Both MCs use agog in their inner thoughts; what a coincidence.
Plot
This singing contest was basically an audition for a music reality show contest where she lives with a bunch of mean girls who pick on the po lil country girl and Mr. Rockstar lusts after her and takes up for her.
It's a joke. There's a shitload of talk about fairness and her wanting to win on her own blah blah. But, every scene is him giving her special (and even more special (;; ) attention than all the others. So, to just continue on with fairness and earning 'it' was just ridiculous.
The more I read the worse it became until someone dies, someone grows some balls, someone grows some ovaries, and they all live happily ever after.
Bottom Line
I appreciate the subplot topic of caring for a diseased parent. It's hard, and often isn't addressed in reading, especially romances.
Otherwise, everything from the writing to characters and plot were subpar.
I'd have more patience if this was the author's first book, but it's not. This is recently punished and she has six other titles credited to her.
Can't say I'd even recommend this one as a freebie or sample first.

I really enjoyed reading this book it was a little slow in the being but after a about 5 chapters I couldn't put it down really glad I gave it a go.

I am a huge fan of His, Mine, Yours and am still in awe of how Aubrey Dark created such a fresh and psychologically chilling book where I sympathized with all of the characters. That's why I was really surprised how this book, Bad for Me, had a much different tone. In fact, I found myself laughing and smiling a lot (and it had nothing to do with someone getting bludgeoned to death.) Although it starts off with a very erotic scene, that's not a focus of the book. Instead it's about the development and chemistry between Rachel and Clint and their own individual growth (and of course a few well-written sexy time scenes).
This had a younger feel to it with a fresh off the farm girl who gave up her dreams to take care of her mother (Alzheimer's) and help her dad with the dairy farm. Clint is a rockstar and son of a mega producer dad who is also an a$$ and cokehead and a loser and pathetic excuse for a human being and a horrible person and probably hates kittens. I wasn't sure if I was going to like an American Idol/Real World type storyline, but I loved it! Aubrey Dark did such a great job creating multi-dimensional characters who absolutely popped off the page once they met. Given Clint's introduction, I didn't think I'd like him at all. That's why I was in awe of how the author crafted a hero who went from such a lost cause to someone with so much depth and selflessness. Although I did like Rachel, I didn't see as much of the change for her (other than the obvious of her going out on her own), but I really liked how she balanced Clint.
Something I particularly liked was Rachel calling Clint out on his dad and the way he put her down or made fun of her. Most books would gloss over that, but I so appreciated how this was part of Clint's growth. Understanding it wasn't ok or the status quo for his dad to treat people the way he did and how Clint could be different. My only lingering question was if Clint stayed with performing music. From what he said and she observed, his music was what made him come alive and cope (similar to Rachel). I'd hate he gave up on that because of his dad's opinion.
You can easily read this as a standalone. Rachel is friends with Lacey and Steph so we see a little of them as well as Jake and Lucas (who are friends with Clint). I read Jake/Lacey's first book (His Gift) when it came out, but I felt disconnected from it. I'm now really anxious to jump right back into it and then read the second part - His Ransom (plus, I've read Rien makes an appearance!?). I have not read Mr. Black's Proposal either - Steph and Lucas's book. Although they are in it, they do not appear to be together yet at the beginning of this book. I love this world and how it's all interconnected!!!

The characters, esp. the H, were not very developed in this story. It was darker than what I normally read with drug use and such, but that's not the main reason why didn't really enjoy it. There just really wasn't enough character development. I didn't connect with the characters and what they were going through. Thus, it was a meh read for me.

Beautiful! So, so beautiful. It took me by surprise, actually. It started as entertaining, fun and sexy, and then it blossomed into so much more.
It's a heady mixture of impossible romance, talent show and fatal attraction. I really enjoyed the dialogues and a tempting plot of success in the music business with all odds against it. An enticing prologue helps through the few introduction chapters where we meet Cling and Rachel in their daily lives and circumstances. A farmer girl who's taking care of her ill mother, and a wild rock star with a much worse father. After that, it's all fast and wonderful as pushy Clint falls head-over-heels in lust with naïve yet fierce Rachel when she auditions for a singing contest for his dad's studio.
The double point of view spices things up as both characters collide and heated sparks fly. I enjoyed every scene with the other participants, the challenges, and the difficulties Rachel faces because she doesn't blend in. She may be sweet, but she's also a fighter and I loved her personality. The dialogues between she and Clint are full of heat and wit, as well as their sexy encounters. There is one of them, the first one, that left me breathless. Wow, the place in which it happens is mind-blowing. And the scene in the music studio! Oh, that was shamelessly erotic and poetic.
This story though is not just easy carnal fun. No. It takes care of its characters, their dreams, and they change as they show progresses and feelings start to mean more than everybody else's pushes and shoves.
I also liked the Phantom of the Opera quality of Clint's helping Rachel to become a better singer. Through amazing, gloriously detailed lovemaking, this romance opens up to drama, new understandings of life choices, family bonding and harship, and getting to be who you are beyond the fog of expectations.
It's fun and sexy, yes, but it's wonderfully mature and romantic and emotional too. Loved it!

I received a complimentary ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book was not what I expected. I thought this book would follow more along the lines of His Gift, His Ransom, and Mr. Blacks Proposal. It was so much better than those. Clint Terrance is not what he seems. I love reading about reformed playboys. I think Clint’s character was well developed, and I loved how he was Rachel’s rock through tragic events. Clint has a special place with book boyfriends, he truly is one of a kind.
Rachel on the other hand drove me crazy. I cannot stand characters who cry all the time. I get that your emotional, but she was just through the roof on emotions. I tend to like strong lead female characters. I tend to favor them more as I can understand how they overcome their struggles, and I Rachel struggles were kind of left up in the air.
I have lots of questions after finishing this book. Like are there going to be more books about Clint and Rachel? What happens with Clint’s mom? What about Rose, Skull and John? So many questions left unanswered. I hope these questions get answered soon.

3.5 stars. Not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Nothing really about anyone being a billionaire, just a rock star trying to impress his drugged up dad, who owns a huge recording studio, to try and convince him he can run the studio and his dad can retire. The rock star son stages an "American Idol" type competition hoping not only to find a superstar, but also find some pretty ladies to bed. One of the contestants is a farm girl (and we mean FARM girl, V-card and all), who has been singing around the farm forever. She's convinced to join the contest by a friend, who is a friend of the rock star.
I really liked the romance that built between the girl and the rock star. They learned so much about life through each other. It was deliciously steamy at times, somber other times (the girl's mother had Alzheimer's) and not at all a waste of my time to read it.

Beautiful heartbreak
The emotions you feel while reading this are epic. I've read thousands of books and this one broke my heart and then mended the shattered pieces back even stronger. Clint is what every woman should run from or so we thought...playbook,rocker,drunk druggie....then comes Rachel who is a farm girl with pure heart and soul!!! The bond is brilliant and their love is epic!!! Adored this novel!!!

Got this as an arc from the author for an honest review. And LOVED it!!! Wow. Clint & Rachel make a wonderful couple. Loved Rachel for being a "normal" girl...tho why do girls have to be so cruel? Never giving herself enough credit. And Clint grew on me...eventually. Lol. Loved their bantering. They brought out the best in each other. Such a wonderful story. Good job!!

I finished this book in 2 days. The story was heart warming a rag yo riches kind of story. I cried for both leading character, knowing that they were hurting. Happy ending always make it better

I did finish it. and glad to say it got kind of better from the second half. but still not the best... you see a lot of this books are suppost to be about grown ups but characters are so childish inmature that it hard to relate to them...

Really touching story
I really enjoyed this book. The charters were great and the storyline was wonderful. I loved Rachel and everything she lived through. She was so much stronger than she realized.

It was twist and turns. I loved the way the story went. The author did a really good job expressing how a young girl could fall in love. Even though she was innocent. I loved how the story flowed through.

This started as a great story, yet somehow fell short. My major distaste for our MC is that he almost never defends his girl in front of his obnoxious father, it takes a last scene with his dad to finally say something.

I received this for an honest review. Aubrey Dark has show true talent in writing this book. I can tell she put a lot into writing this story, it truly is a touching story. You will experience so much emotion when reading this story. I truly feel like I have been on an emotional roller coster. Warning you will need a box of tissue. I found there were parts I laughed, got angry, I was swoon, and parts I cried like a baby.
My heart broke for Rachel. At such a young age she chose not to follow her dreams. Life was sort of being sucked out of her little by little. She loved her family with all of her heart. Her dad need help taking care of her mom. Her twin sister was going to college. Rachel had a lot of responsibility. She chose sacrificing her dreams for family.
Rachel and her sister were different. Rachel’s sister Rose was skinny and beautiful where Rachel was more on the curvy side but just as beautiful. My heart broke for Rachel because she was judge for her size. Rachel was given the opportunity to go to New York and enter a singing competition that also films your every move. She does not even know that challenge that wait her. She will suffer so much verbal abuse it is not even funny, but what does not kill you will make you stronger. It will truly test her strength, her determination, and will. She will be faced with a lot of choices guess we will see if she makes the right ones?
Of course this is a hot steamy romantic love story. So you have to have a hot sexy man, right? Clint Terrance is that hot sexy guy, a true bad boy so to speak. He is the lead singer in rock band and his dad owns Terrance Records. He must prove to his dad that he is capable of taking over the business one day. He must find their next big thing. So Clint and his friend Piers come up with a singing competition. Clint was blow away not only by Rachel’s beauty and curves but also by her voice. She had this amazing voice that Clint fell in love with.
If you want something and it is worth having then you must fight for it. The best things in life do not come easy. Clint will find chasing after Rachel will not be easy. Not only is she a contestant but also has a fiancee. Can Clint beat all the odds and win Rachel’s heart? Will Rachel’s dreams come true and she become the singer she is meant to be?

What a dark, yet sensual emotional read. I was drawn in immediately and couldn’t put this story down. I loved everything about the MC. One comes from a monied background while the other comes from a humble background yet they both yearn for the one thing that is so far denied them—happiness and success. As the story weaves its way thru , we get to understand the characters and its heartbreaking in a sense because Clint, the hero, always tried to measure up to his dad and found out that he would never do so and he was made to jump thru so many hoops when he really saw when after meeting the heroine , Rachel , who is just the humble farm girl who got the nerve to come up and audition for a role for him and his dad’s label. We see that there is a connection and a spark between them –then after Rachel won a place in a talent show that his dad’s label is holding , she is leery to take it, due to family issues back home with her mom’s health but she does it anyway because for so long she has given up her life while her sister got to BE the star, now its her turn for a change.. This is the emotional part to the story that will have you feeling compassion for the MC because you see Clint turn from a jerk to someone who starts caring to what Rachel feels. He doesn’t know all that is going on at home but he starts to get the feeling its nothing good and as they click, Rachel realizes the douche fiancée hasn’t been so good to her or supportive .Watch out for what happens to him when he tries to steal her light and make her feel less than …#TEAMCLINT As Clint and Rachel work together on stage and off, their passions know no bounds and the chemistry is off the chain. Extremely hot and oh so good!
There are some mean girls in this story , as you will find in any when its dealing with any possible fame and handsome men and money. Rachel and Clint will make you say AHHH , this story is just that good. The supporting cast is also great. At first, I didn’t like Rachel’s sister but by the end I would like to know her story so here is to hoping we will get to read hers next.

The first person she meets at the audition is Clint Terrance, bad boy rock star and the son of the studio owner. When Clint hears Rachel sing for the first time, he knows that she has the best voice of all the contestants. He also knows that his father would never accept curvey girl Rachel as the winner. Wow, there is bullying by the contestants, emotional ups and downs, as well as sizzling hot encounters between Rachel and Clint. I think this is a fantastic book and I loved it!

Love this series. Order starts with His Gift 1-3, His Ransom 4-5 and then we get to Mr. Black's Proposal and Bad For Me. I was a bit confused about where Bad For Me fits into the series. It almost coincides with Mr. Black's Proposal. I was a bit disappointed with that. Granted these are all written with the ability to be a standalone, but if you are a fan and reading all of them it would have been nice to continue where Mr. Black's Proposal left off.
With that said I really enjoyed reading Clint and Rachel's story. Great lead in for Pier's story. I can't wait for more!!

Good story but......
The premise of the story was good, shy aspiring singer meets rich, sexy rock star producer and sparks fly but, there was a disjointed feeling in the telling of the story. From page one I was unclear of the direction of the characters. The description of Clint, the record producer was weak and under developed, while the singer Rachael's character was overly emotional bordering on overwrought. Throughout the book I could not shake the feeling of a great story hovering in the distance. The last few chapters were by far the best part of the story showing a depth that was missing from the beginning. I liked this book but, I didn't love it. I am willing to read another Aubrey Dark book because I can sense a great story waiting to burst forth.

I received this for my honest review. This is about a girl who dreams of singing on stage finding love and happy ever after, what her real life is living at home on the ranch helping to care for her mum and helping her dad run it by doing the jobs her mum was before Alzheimer's took a hold while her twin sister Rose went to college and had her life. Then it all changed whisked away to the city for a once in a lifetime chance she just had to sing one song, what this story takes you on is a beautiful funny, sexy and heart wrenching ride. One story that will absorb you into Rachel and Clint's totally opposite worlds, absolutely brilliant read.

Received a arc for a honest review.. so lucky to get to read this. First it starts out by just pulling you right in. Then gets emotional telling Rachel's side. This has everything drama action suspense and tearful moments. Aubrey did amazing with this and another one of my favorites from her. I connected so much with Rachel was so trapped in this story. Couldn't put down. But warning leaves you needing more.

Best of the three billionaire stories
I enjoyed this story a bit more than the others in the series such as Jake's story which I found pushed a bit more unbelievable than your average cliche billionaire. The heroine finding herself in a situation where she was isolated and treated badly by others seems more relatable, as is the commentary reflecting on the nature of the entertainment industry. Definitely worth reading but I'd suggest reading Jake's stories first.

Cute falling in love story
Ok I liked this story the best out of the Billionaire Romance series. I could identify with Rachel in being a worry wart and wanting to sink into the crowd and disappear. Clint helped her get the confidence to achieve her dream. And it helps that they fell in love during the process. Very nice read!
