If you have already discovered Ms Pillow's dragon shifters then this new spin off series is sure to be a delight and no doubt an auto buy. This book is set in the present day so very easy to imagine as events transpire. I suppose you could describe this as a prequel of sorts as these shifters journey back to Earth looking for those females that will gladly accept all that the Draig and Var can offer! Desperate times call for desperate measures I fear and with no brides just appearing as it were than time to take a little trip through a portal to a very modern Earth!
Drake defies the rules and slips through the portal looking for a bride of his own. What he finds is a land of people apparently poisoned and happily divesting themselves of their meals and inhibitions! Yes party time in New Orleans is anything but tame and Drake is totally bewildered! Now luckily he journeys on and now lives peacefully in the Bayou but his quiet life is about to be shattered!
Lori has a job to do photographing a quaint hotel and is determined to do her best. Hearing rumours of a local Lizard Man she decides to get pictures in the swamp to add local colour. What she hadn't planned on was her guide having a heart attack and leaving her stranded and at the mercy of all the local critters! Now luckily she is rescued but her rescuer is anything but ordinary. He's gorgeous, talks a little funny ( did he hit his head?) and keeps trying to convince Lori that he's Cajun! Er no he most definitely isn't but what he is will blow Lori's mind!
Oo too short, I need more! This author gives me a story to make me smile and then at the end teases her readers with all the joys that are to come! Evil woman that you are Ms Pillow but I forgive you. As usual the hero makes me melt but this time his ideas about humans had me laughing out loud! Share the joke and smile with me as this lovely but lonely male finally gets his happy ending

Lori is a lovely travel journalist. This sweet and fun short novella is filled with adventure, action, and romance. Sarah Pavelec did a good job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listen to the next book in the Series, Hunted by the Dragon.

Drake and Lori have such a fun adventure. They both are well written characters that match eachother well. This insta-love romance is a shorter story. I enjoyed the narration, helped bring the story to life with how animated it was.

An awesome alien shifter romance. Drake has lived in the swamps of Louisiana since he arrived on planet earth in search of his mate. Lori ends up stranded in the swamps when her tour boat suddenly dies. This is an easy read with adventure, and instant romance.

This story takes us back in time to when the Draig on Quirilixan first started using the portal to earth to find mates.
Drake is a big, strong, sexy dragon shifter that has snuck through the portal to Earth and lands in Louisiana. He moves to the swamplands that remind him so much of his home. He longs to find a mate and have a family and hopes he will be able to find that here on Earth. He saves a beautiful female from the jaws of an alligator and doesn't realize that she may just be his salvation.
Lori is a beautiful, travel journalist on a trip to Louisiana to write an article. While on a trip into the bayou her guide dies and she is left alone in the swamp with no way home. She is rescued by Drake and from that moment on this story really gets fantastic. Lori never imagined that coming to the bayou would change her life forever

Stranded with the Cajun is about Drake. Against Qurilixen royal order, Drake sneaked into the portal leading to Earth. He is the last of his family line. His family land has been taken by the Vars. Everyone in his family is dead. He has nothing to lose and everything to gain by taking a chance of going to Earth and to find himself a life-mate.
By going through the portal, Drake ended up in the Louisiana Bayou.
Lori is a travel journalist. Her assignment was to write about the Plantation Inn in the Bayou except her misfortune landed her with a guide, who died of a heart attack and being stranded in the middle of the swamp.
Lori is rescued by Drake. Now she has to decided, should she goes with an expose or protect the man who rescue her.
Lori's character showed the repulsion after discovering that Drake is "lizard man" as the local urban legend. It did take her awhile to realized of seeing Drake as a man instead of a lizard. This is as real if we were standing in her shoes.
What I didn't like about Lori is her dialogue. As a travel journalist, she should have been able to learn a few survival skills. I couldn't warm up to her character because of her dialogue. Her dialogue leave me questioning if she was a journalist at all. By the time, she returned to the Plantation Inn, did I start to like her.
The narrator, Sarah Pavelec did a better job of being Drake and the Sheriff than Lori. I just wondering if that is the reason I couldn't like Lori right away. I would like to listen to Sarah Pavelec again to see the range of her narration skill before I decide about her.

Guardian of the Bayou!
Dimosthenis, a Draig on Qurilixen sneaks through the portal after his brother dies. He has no family left and desperately wants to find a mate. He lands in New Orleans and ends up in the swamp, where he feels right at home. He has become the Guardian of the Bayou saving lives and keeping hunters from killing the animals. The local people love him and protect his secret. He is renamed Drake and made an official Cajun.
Lori Johnson is a photographer visiting to write a story on a local Plantation Inn. She takes an evening tour of the swamp hoping to get some shots of the sunset on the Bayou. Her guide proceeds to have a heart attack and drops dead in the boat. She is stranded in the bayou with no way out. Drake is out patrolling in his dragon form and rescues her. She wakes up in his bed at his cabin. Drake realizes she is his mate and can’t stop himself from mating with her. In the morning he finds out that humans don’t quite view sex the same way the Draig do. He considers himself “married” to her, but she leaves him and returns to town with the Sheriff to give her statement. The sheriff warns her to stay away from Drake and not to tell anyone what she saw. When she returns to the inn there is a new guest there. He is a big game hunter that just returned from Africa. He has heard the rumors of a Lizzard Man in the swamp and has come to hunt him as another trophy for his collection. She immediately realizes that she has put Drake in danger, plus she has this terrible need to see him again. Can she find him in time to save him from the hunter?

This is the third installment in this series and is Drake and Lori's story. Drake is a Draig Dragon shifter from Quirilixen who snuck through the portal to Earth in search of a mate as females are scarce on his home world . Lori is a photo journalist who gets herself in a dangerous predicament when she books a guided tour on an airboat in the swamps and her guide dies of a heart attack. Drake had settled in the swamps after coming to Earth as it was where he felt most at home. He had saved a number of his neighbors from various dangers and they in turn were loyal to him and kept his secret. When Lori is stranded in the swamp surrounded by alligators he saves her as well and takes her to his backwoods home. There they form a connection that leads Drake to believe they are mates. Lori is not so easy to convince though. Will he be able to convince her that he is the only one for her or will she go back to her old life and possibly expose Drake to outside dangers. Or will she follow her heart. When a big game hunter hears of a legend about a lizard man in the swamp will they be able to stop him from taking Drake as his trophy. Check out this story to find out. This one has alot of humor mixed in too because of confusion about Earth customs and I got a real kick out of it.

This is a fun and steamy story of two vastly different worlds, culture and well different everything meeting.
The Qurilixen Royal Courts have authorized secret trips via a portal for Royals to go to Earth to find a mate, no non-Royals permitted. So with his family line dying out, Dimosthenis illegally used the portal for a trip to Earth to find his mate. Landing in New Orleans, he changed his name to Drake and settles in the bayou swamps.
When Lori is stranded in the swamp at night, Drake comes to her rescue and instantly knows she is his mate. While trying to convince her of their mating, a big game hunter is determined to "bag" a lizard-man for his trophy wall and Drake is in his sights.
Get ready for misunderstandings and confusing outcomes as two world cultures meet. Nothing can adequately describe the situations and humour in this romantic story.

Lori is a professional photographer who is on assignment. She goes on a sunset tour of the bayou to get some more pictures for her article, hoping to see some sign of Alligator man, a local legend. After her guide has a sudden heart attack and dies, Lori is stranded on the boat surrounded by alligators. She is terrified until a strange scaly man shows up. In great fear, she knocks herself unconscious. When she is awake, she finds her self in the home of Alligator man or Drake. The more he talks, the more she is convinced that he is either crazy or is an alien from another planet.

I listened to the audio version of this book. This was a cute story about a dragon shifter who snuck through a portal to Earth to look for his mate. There is a lack of women on Qurilixen and the royals have reopened the portal they all came through centuries ago when fleeing persecution from humans.
Drake has been living in the Louisiana bayou since he arrived on Earth. It reminds him of the swamps of his home and he is comfortable there. There are those who know about his origins and his shifter abilities and they advise and protect him from detection. He has saved many lives in his years in the swamp and his patrolling is what makes his dream finally come true when he finds a woman stranded on a boat.

A Great Listen…Again
Audiobook Review
I really enjoyed the first book of this series, but I wasn't as wild about the second one. I'm happy to say that I found this one as good as the first one, even if it wasn't quite as humorous as that one was. The hero is not just a romantic hero. He is a hero in the truest sense. Unlike others from his home planet who just visit Earth through the portal on occasion, he has actually chosen to live in Cajun country on a swamp! He's a dragon shifter, and he uses his powers for good, helping people in the area when they get into scrapes, even known for saving people from a gator or two! He's become such a part of the fabric of the community that local law enforcement looks the other way, not wanting to bring any attention to this unique shifter creature and actually protecting him from others who would love to know that alien shifters are alive and well on planet Earth. The heroine has the potential to expose him for who he is. Her confusion and reaction to him seem quite normal, and I loved how they got to know each other naturally, even though this is a relatively quick read or listen. Absolutely adored this heroic hero and his journey to find his mate.

I really enjoyed the first book of this series, but I wasn't as wild about the second one. He's become such a part of the fabric of the community that local law enforcement looks the other way, not wanting to bring any attention to this unique shifter creature and actually protecting him from others who would love to know that alien shifters are alive and well on planet Earth. The heroine has the potential to expose him for who he is. Her confusion and reaction to him seem quite normal, and I loved how they got to know each other naturally, even though this is a relatively quick read or listen. Absolutely adored this heroic hero and his journey to find his mate.

Stranded with the Cajun is the third book in the Captured by a Dragon-Shifter by Michelle M. Pillow.
This is a time when the Draig of the Quirilixan did not have the Galaxy Brides yet and was using a portal to Earth to potentially find brides. At the time, they were not aware of how Earth has changed so they were wary about sending men through the portal.
Drake has longed for a mate for a long time, so he has decided to make the biggest decision of his life. He snuck through the portal to Earth in hopes of finding a bride. He lands in New Orleans, Louisiana where he finally moves to the swamplands because it was the closest thing to home.
Lori is a travel journalist on a trip in Louisiana for a cover story. She was on a trip in the bayou when her tour guide suddenly dies. Luckily, she is saved by Drake.
I absolutely love the Dragon series and I am so happy to read more books about it. This was fantastic and I absolutely enjoyed it! Michelle, you always blow my mind! I can't wait for more.

Dimosthenis 'Drake' is a dragon shifter from Qurilixen. Being a commoner, he wasn't supposed to go through the portal to Earth to find a bride but desperation has him doing just that. He's been living in the Bayou for the last couple of years, helping people and living under the radar.
Lori Johnston is a photo journalist, she came to the Bayou to write a travel piece and found way more than she bargained for.
When Lori's swamp travel guide dies from a heart attack while on her Dusk on the Bayou tour, she has no idea what to do and is afraid the alligators are thinking she's dinner. Drake pops up to help her and ends up startling her into conking her head.
While the insta-love, insta-sex didn't work for me, I liked both characters and enjoyed getting to know them. I liked the epilogue even more and would have liked to read more of their time after they became a couple.
Interesting characters, but I felt the story needed a little more fleshing out.

Lori, a journalist, is writing a piece on an Inn and goes on a tour of the swamps to add local interest. Whilst on the tour her tour guide dies and she is left stranded on a mud flat with the alligators circling. Using her camera flash to try to keep them away she sees the local myth the ‘lizard man’.
Drake came to Earth via the magic tunnel to find a mate. To say he was shocking on his arrival would be a massive understatement. He found his way to the swamps and was adopted by the locals who he has saved in various ways. The locals protect him and have grown fond of him. When he rescues Lori, he realises she is his mate but due to misunderstandings and things getting lost in translation and although Lori is strongly drawn to him, she’s surprised when he says that they are mated.
This is a really great read, the misunderstandings that Drake had on his arrival was so amusing. Drake and Lori are great characters and the other people of the Bayou help to make this a real page turner.

Now we have dragons! Oh do we have some sexy alpha wrap your arms around and hold on tight dragons! Oh honey Miss Pillow brings it with these dragons! You get heat and a simmering feeling of just how good it really is with a dragon! Her stories are phenomenal and oh I cannot tell you enough how great this author is! Her creations are the greatest escapes with characters that you believe in and feel for! Every book this author writes is GOLD simmering in the sun shining just for you! Yes she is that good! I have followed her from the beginning and she is a magnificent storyteller and author and has given us gifts with her writings and musings LOL! This was a riveting read that I thoroughly enjoyed and I am sure other will enjoy
Stranded with the Cajun was a simply splendid read that I enjoyed thoroughly from start to finish, Lori Johnson is a travelling photo journalist that has been doing news pieces in the Bayou.
On the tour her guide is killed and she finds herself stranded in the center of alligator central each of them happy to take a nip out of her somewhere juicy, she is saved by the legend himself Bayou Lizard Man Drake who is also known as Dimosthenis.
After she defeats the hunter a heavily pregnant and very ticked off Lori and Drake are greeted by a group of Dragon Shifters that are used to caring for their mates in the only way they know how.
This was a wonderful read with lots of action and plenty of larger-than-life characters.

This enjoyable third story in this series is about dragon shifter Drake and Lori Johnston a photojournalist. I've been reading this series out of order but still able to enjoy each story because each story draws me into the couple's romantic adventures. Drake being the only son of his family bloodline sneaks through the portal and ends up in the bayou of Louisiana. Drake is taken in by the locals and lives in the bayou where he changes into a dragon form creating the local legend “Bayou Lizard Man”. Lori is taking pictures of the bayou when her guide Big Daddy has a heart attack and dies while driving the airboat. Stranded and lost Lori is saved by the Drake who takes her to his cabin. What occurs is an engaging story with twist and turns as our couple face a danger that threatens their relationship. I liked that previous characters I've read shows up in this story. I volunteer to read and review this ARC that I received via Booksprout.

For me this was a 2.5 star read. So many things in this story made no sense. Drake is looking for a mate yet he stays in the swamps for years with no females around? Lori was a photographer because she had a camera?
Both Lori and Drake seem to have the maturity of young tweens. Drake seems to be written by a fourteen y/o describing what he heard from another 14 y/o about women. Yes, there may be a language barrier or translation of sorts but some of the things that came out of his mouth actually had me cringing and thinking that he may be a bit too young to be with a woman.
The other characters are pretty much caricatures of over done fumbling bumbling people, or eccentric people and how they may appear to others.
This very light almost over before it began insta-in-bed story left me wondering what in the C movie did I just read?

Drake, a dragon shifter, defies the rulers of his planet, Qurilixen, and comes to Earth looking for his fated mate. He settles in the swamps of Louisiana and after a few years, fate sends him Lori, a journalist writing an article about the area. At first, she had a hard time accepting the existence of alien dragons. Later on she realizes that she truly is his fated mate. I liked how the story ended.
This story is based on the dragon shifters from the Qurilixen World. There are several related series by this author and they are all very entertaining with a fair amount of spice and adventure. You can check out the reading order at the FantasticFiction.com website. They are all worth a read. I liked them all.

Drake has not found his mate so he sneaks through a portal to Earth and lands in the Bayou near New Orleans. He makes friends and protects that area from hunters, to the point that The Bayou Lizard Man is rumored. Lori is a photo journalist who is taking pictures of the sunset with a guide when he dies suddenly, leaving her stranded. Drake finds her unconscious and takes her back to safety. Realizing she is his mate, the connections grow stronger and stronger. The characters are terrific and the storyline is inspired, with plenty of action, surprises, twists and rescues. This book grips you heart right from the start and will not let go. Will be rereading this one again and more by this author. Well done.

His description of the French Quarter in New Orleans is priceless, his journey to becoming Cajun charming, and his place in the community genuinely earned, and means some delightful secondary characters come into play.
Lori is a photographer who thought she knew what she was out to take pictures of, but a night on the bayou goes off course and ends up reminding her that photojournalists have ethical dilemmas too.
This done in one story is a fun quick read that ties in to the previous stories loosely, and sets up more in this series taking place on Earth… which likely means more Aliens trying to make sense of our world.

I really loved this fast-paced contemporary romance, a spinoff story from Pillow’s sexy sci-fi Qurilixen books. I raced through the read, enjoying every word of the story. This series is about Qurilixen dragon-shifter men finding their mates in our modern Earth, and Stranded with the Cajun is a really fun adventure about a shifter who’s living in the swamp. Being somewhat dragon-like, he quite fits in there. The insta-love on Drake’s part is quite normal for dragon-shifters, so the story is about Lori coming to terms with her own feelings. The focus of the story is definitely more on the outward events, but Pillow ties all the bits of the story together to create a delightful escapist read.

It’s hard to beat a bayou boy for someone to take care of you when there’s a problem. Those Cajun’s stick together, as seen in this book. Drake saves the day, initially, and then the sheriff and Ursa go to the mat for Drake. Everyone is family in the Louisiana bayou…apparently, even those guys from another world who are made honorary Cajuns with moonshine and a dip in the bayou. It’s great to see that portrayed here.
The insta romance…is truly instant. There’s a lot more going on with Drake and his new family, really, than the romance part of this book. Yeah, they get together, and that’s great, but lots of the other parts of this book outshine the rest.

I just love the characters, the world building and the chemistry between Lori and Drake.
Lori is a photojournalist who wants to capture the sunset over the Bayou swamps, when her older tour guide who is also the pilot dies suddenly she becomes stranded in a muddy section with alligators surrounding her. Drake who is known by Lizardman who is being shot at by hunters goes to check out the boat stopped near his home he discovers Lori.
Thus our story begins with Drake a Draig sneaking through the portal hoping to find a bride, when years after being stranded in our realm he meets and saves Lori his inner dragon imprints on Lori the fun begins.
Gotta love a hunky, protective alpha and I want him for myself.

The narrator did an excellent job bringing life to this story. I love the southern drawl she gave the local characters. HEA, with some steam, just short enough for an afternoon listen.
