Jason's Fall

All those years acting as a tough straight guy are thrown away when Jason finds himself enjoying wet dreams about a chiseled, strong man who shows him how sinfully good sex between two men can be.
Jason begins to question his sexuality due to those evermore-recurring dreams that seem to be so real. His questions are answered on the day he meets Blaine, the stranger in his dreams who, in reality, is an irresistible and tempting demon.
This surreal revelation is the beginning of a life-changing journey where Jason discovers his true self, while stumbling upon a whole new dark underworld.
Jason finds himself in the middle of a colossal battle between angels and demons, while fighting one of his own: coming to terms with his sexuality.

James spends most of his time looking at his computer screen, trying to summon the magical words that make the ingredients for a great story. He dreams about being able to move people and becoming a great writer one day.

He writes contemporary gay romance and erotica but he wants to write about much more. His mind is filled with sci-fi gadgets, swords, wizards and dragons and he has trouble trying to choose one theme. Maybe one day we’ll read something starring sinewy heroes battling giant dragons in tight pants. But the romance will always be there. And the abs. And the happy endings – James is a sucker for them.

James draws inspiration from everyday life, books, movies, songs, pictures and much more. Almost everything can ignite his desire to write but not all will end up on his stories.
James is an indie author who relies on friends and a growing base of lovely beta readers to help him with his stories, ensuring that each book is better than the previous one.

Nope

I know that this is a series that is comprised of three short books. However, there really isn’t much to this in regards to character development. I am still wondering what Jason does for a living. In addition, the flow to this book feels a bit off. Even with the two other books in the series being short, I am not sure if I want to read them. I might put them on the back burner for now.

For James Lee Hard's first paranormal novella, it was exceptional. He brought in a character who was obviously confused about his sexuality and he couldn't understand why. He loved women and making love to them. He had been having nightmares with the same man and these feelings of sex with other men was trying to surface. One day the man in his dreams "the demon" approached him and that was his real first encounter with having sex with a man. He was astounded , but very turned on by this man. All he wanted to do was have him have sex with him with someone that wasn't real, at least Jason couldn't understand what was happening to him. Evidently the demon, Blaine, had taken him to another realm for explosive sex, since no one was in the subway tunnels until it was over. Then things were back to normal when the demon disappeared in the dark shadows. Jason was scared. He didn't know what to do hoping this man was a figment of his imagination. But it did get him thinking about other men and things that happened in his past with other men. He shared some of his story to his best friend but didn't want to lose him with the details. He was attracted to him and he didn't want him to know it. Jason left to go back home, paranoid, and finally locking himself into his apartment, but momentarily the demon appears again. Jason wanted to know what he was doing to him and the demon told him he was protecting him for what was to come, not telling him much. After their second round of real sex, the demon left. Jason was about to go out of his mind. Even in the gym he was so paranoid when he looked at other men, one man approached him and Jason complied. His life was being changed, but he didn't know what was coming. Protection, protection from what......? Looks like we'll find out what happens. This was a very sexual mystery with a paranormal world invading. Can't wait for the Rift 2 comes to answer some questions and what the paranormal world (with two entities) involved when it comes to humans. Enjoyable read. To be continued.......

Heh

Extremely well written and engaging, book 1 was over too fast but I'm looking forward to seeing what it's all about. Don't really care for the characters yet but that is a refreshing change of pace and I can't wait to see what the author has in mind

I really enjoyed reading this. It is a great story, with interesting character’s, which we slowly get to learn more about as the story continues, and James is excellent at building a perfect mysterious atmosphere.
I loved how throughout the text there are small bits and pieces on information explaining why Jason behave the way he does. It allows us readers to get a very clear picture of why Jason sees himself as a woman lover.
The descriptive comparisons James uses is amazing. It paints a perfect picture of what the characters are feeling and what is happening around them. I especially enjoyed “ like reality was being played on an old VCR and the tape was so worn out that the top and bottom halves of the image were slightly misaligned. “
The descriptions surrounding the Nephilim’s arrival left me speechless, it was so well written
All in all, a great story!

Before i start i must point out that James Lee Hard is a favourite author of mine but i will admit to being worried about reading this book simply because i have never ever read a Paranormal book...it is simply not something that was a specific interest of mine...until last night that is.
Jason has been having dreams...somewhat confusing but erotic dreams...he has never questioned his sexuality until now...because the star of his dreams is a man.
A very confusing journey now begins for Jason after 'meeting' the star of his dreams and having quite simply one of the most erotic encounters i have ever read.
Here begins Jason's journey of self discovery...he struggled to understand what happened with each encounter with the powerful and stunning man and as the tale progressed you could begin to see and really feel the awakening of Jason and his desires.

'The lust grew deep inside me, freed me from my control'

As the story progressed we came to understand as the reader whom this other man was...'A demon' wrapped in a stunning package and we got to see a little behind this being to wet our appetite certainly and to keep us interested in where this journey will take us next time.
A thoroughly enjoyable read for me and as an avid reader of his other books i can clearly see the development of James's writing with each book written and for me this was his best work to date.
Eloquent and enthralling and also raw and gritty where it needed to be...a contradiction you may think...certainly not.
I am certainly very excited to see what happens to Jason and his 'demon' in the follow up to Jason's Fall...and if like me you simply don't do paranormal still give this book a chance because i promise you will not be disappointed in the least.
In summary simply stunning and in the words of Jason on his voyage of discovery...

'I was beginning to think this was the real me, or at least the new me'.

This is the fourth book from this author I've read, and I think it has great potential-it is a quick read with a cliffhanger ending, but I eagerly await the next part!

As far as Paranormal reads go,I haven't read a great deal, but I liked the idea of this,it is well written and adding the M/M element made it hotter and the scenes do well to reflect that.

Jason's been dreaming of a mysterious stranger who takes him as never before-thus questioning Jason's whole existence. When the fantasy becomes reality,it starts Jason on a journey to something he didn't think possible.

"I was consumed by a lust I'd never experienced before and was in dire need of....of something I didn't know exactly what, but I had an idea,a fleeting thought.I wouldn't dare utter, although it was a battle I was quickly losing..."

There is something else coming, and again I was hooked and am interested to see where the story goes, hoping we do not have to wait for long to find out!

This one took me by surprise and I love it when that happens

Riveting and addicting, this new 'universe' is hot, intense, believable and oh so enjoyable. The characters are quickly developed and grabbed me and wouldn't let go.

Jason is the consummate man whore: perfect body going from woman to woman, using and enjoying and discarding... but there are 'others' that have their eyes, and desires on him and somehow he features a prime spot in the upcoming battle between good and evil -- don't know why yet, but I do want to find out.

Yup, I'm following this series through!

Gay sex tale

A very just weak story line. There is sexual activities erotic but just no real plot associated with it. Feeble attempt at other worldly fair. Story to be continued but not with my participation. This one was enough wasted time.

I'm temporarily rating this at 3 stars for the potential.

The writing is stilted and choppy, the phrasing repetitive and odd sounding. Not impressed with the lack of lube in rough butt-sex (no spit, nothing - just wham! in there) and the almost dub-con nature of the whole story. I mean, okay so the MC might have looked at guys with some interest in his teens and then shut that shit down out of fear AND his body might be aroused...but it still feels like something he doesn't actually want, that he's responding to pheromones and mind-manipulation of some sort and I have an issue with that.

Plus, it ends on a cliffhanger; an intended sort of tease because nothing was resolved, the back-story/drama/plot barely developed and I have no idea what is going on other than some demons are here in our reality and aren't supposed to be - the MC becomes an interesting pet for one of them - while an angel is on his way to figure out how they crossed the veil and fix it all. In this case, the series should be packaged as one book because it is truly only a couple chapters of ONE story.

2.5 Stars I'm not sure how much of my trouble with this book is due to the writing and how much is due to the length of the story and that this is clearly the first installment of a series of shorter books that could just as easily be sold as one long novel. I was left very confused by a number of elements of the story and really didn't get a clear picture of where things were going. Not sure if or when I'll get to reading the next story, but since it's a direct continuation it might ultimately effect how I feel about this book over time.

Different erotic story!
I say this constantly in don't like short stories because they don't have any depth. While this story is short it has a twist to it that one makes it stand out and two makes you want to know more.

I like James Lee Hard's way of writing it's harsh but the language and feel of it fits the book.

As for Jason, there's a major asshole waring on that guy but I think that's the whole point.

I would love to read something entirely different by this author to really get to see what he's made of.

First off, let me just say that I am not a huge paranormal fan, but for James, I made an exception and I wasn't disappointed.

In this story we meets Jason who either has been denying his sexuality or has been confused. He's finally put in the position where he is able to act on his hidden desires...and act does he. And in the midst of this happening, we have this otherwordly event happening and we're not quite sure who the good guy or the bad guy is.

If you read the other reviews, you'll find that this story is just the first part of the series. I do think James did a good job setting the scene and whetting my appetite for more. The sex scenes were hotter, the writing fresher, and the scenes very descriptive and visual. I tell you, I'm looking forward to the next installment in this series!

Awesome

This was my very first read by James Hard. And will not be my last! This book is a short read. So you get but a taste for the story line. But not to worry. There are two more books. Already out in this series. It is smoking hot. And well worth your time and money to read. I would certainty recommend buying this to my friends.

This book took me by surprise and I loved every step. It flowed easily and kept my interest to the end.

We have Jason the womaniser - he catches em & leaves em. But he has this hidden desires which he battles against his own thoughts. He then is thrown into the world that opens up his mind and wow this is just the beginning.
This author has set the scene and president for the next instalment.
This book left me wanting more.

Short read and not something a lot of people would read. But it was really good a very good plot. hate it when people judge you by what you read. I rather enjoyed this about a guy and his way of life and what he thought was one way came to be another way. Awesome. Bring on book 2

Good but short

If the book was longer I could give it more stars. It seemed like a as soon as you get to know a little about o it the main character the story is over. The details were great but like I said before found thing out the story was over.
