Bell & Whitehouse #3

Three Shots of Disaster

Rate this book
Just when Felicity Bell, well-renowned baker and sometime crime reporter, thought that the streets of Happy Bays were safe once again, tragedy strikes. First there’s the nuclear power plant, where a terrorist is plotting revenge on the small Long Island town.

Then there’s Mayor MacDonald’s pet parrot Moe who is suddenly kidnapped, and finally Felicity’s best friend Alice’s love life suffers a crushing blow when Hollywood hunk Reece Hudson decides to return to his ex-girlfriend, the socialite Dorothy Valour.

Felicity, Alice, and their band of friends and family are faced with three shots of disaster. And this may well be the end, for even Felicity’s baking skills seem to have deserted her when her muffins turn out inedible, due to a mistake in Granny Bell’s recipe.

Will Alice be reunited with Reece? Will Moe the Parrot escape his captors? Will Happy Bays survive nuclear disaster? And, most importantly, will Felicity’s baking prowess return? In this, Felicity’s third mystery, things suddenly look very grim indeed…

Nic has a background in political science and before being struck by the writing bug worked odd jobs around the world (including but not limited to massage therapist in Mexico, gardener in Italy, restaurant manager in India, and Berlitz teacher in Belgium).

When he’s not writing he enjoys curling up with a good (comic) book, watching British crime dramas, French comedies or Nancy Meyers movies, sampling pastry (apple cake!), pasta and chocolate (preferably the dark variety), twisting himself into a pretzel doing morning yoga, going for a run, and spoiling his big red tomcat Tommy.

He lives with his wife (and aforementioned cat) in a small village smack dab in the middle of absolutely nowhere and is probably writing his next ‘Mysteries of Max’ book right now.

A winner

This book features more of the over the top characters, unlikely events and disparate story threads weaving together into a cohesive whole that made the first in the series so good. Despite the serious nature of a central plot point the story overall is not as grim as the second book.

Three Shots of Disaster (Bell and Whitehouse book 3

Hysterical, funny and yet some serious issues. Did Reese actually get back with self centered Dolores? This is a must read episode of Alice and Fee.

Who loves a good mystery with a dash of romance?
Felicity is at it again. But this time instead of just her. She has her boyfriend, and people of the neighborhood watch community.
