Welcome to Starlight Hill, California, where the wine flows freely and so does the gossip...
Celebrity stylist Kailey Robbins wants a second chance with ex-military pilot Joe Hannigan, but can she convince him that this time she’ll settle down into small town life?
A Starlight Hill novella, this is officially book 4 in reading order.
Anywhere With You is book four in the Starlight Hill series by Heatherly Bell. I read it as part of the Small Town Summer Anthology.
Kailey Robbins met Joe Hannigan when Joe was piloting for a celebrity and Kailey was doing their hair and make up. They enjoyed their time together enough that Kailey decided to go with Joe back to his home town of Starlight Hill, California to try to make a go of their relationship. But Kailey is not a small town girl and she doesn’t feel like she fits in there in the small wine country community. So Kailey bails.
Now, one month later, Joe has been in a plane crash while he was piloting his Cessna. Nothing like the man you love almost getting killed to make you realize that your life is empty with out him. So Kailey goes back to Starlight Hill to take care of Joe during his recuperation. Will he throw her out, or will he give her another chance to prove that this time, she will stay?
This was a short and sweet story of getting a second chance. Kailey had to decide that she belonged in Starlight Hill and was willing to stay through both the good and bad, instead of running as she always does. Kailey was a tough girl, she has had a tough life. I enjoyed watching her finally decide that she deserved happiness. And Joe was a definite alpha male but he was a marshmallow when it came to Kailey. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more by this author.
I received an advance copy of Anywhere with You (a novella in the Small Town Summer box set) for the purpose of leaving an honest review. Not hard to give this boxset a hearty 5-stars, it was... phenomenal.
Packed with strong stories, each novella brought me right into the characters' hearts (and sometimes bodies, WOW!). I loved the different voices of each author, and I can honestly say that each of these novellas delivers richness and satisfaction in spades.
The emotion and action were straight off the bat, and gave me what I love - a fast-paced read. I delighted in the strong characters and super-real love scenes. What struck me was the snap-bang openings to each story, but what really stood out was that each story went deeper, stronger, and more real. These are novellas but you'll see that the story lengths are generous and loyal to the needs of the story being told. To boot, this box set is totally worth ten times the small cover price.
Small Town Summer truly is a gem and it's already on my keeper shelf. A fabulous intro to some authors whose backcatalog I now need to add to my reading list.
Thank you Heatherly Bell for the opportunity to read another of your amazing stories, and congratulations to all the hardworking writers of Small Town Summer.
Second chances are like catnip to me. They will suck me in while I’m not watching and before I know it, I’ve lost hours of my day. Joe and Kailey struck me as a pair that were in desperate need of another chance to get it right. This story relies heavily on characters that were introduced previously in the series. I recommend reading the first three books in the series before this one to understand the dynamics and history between them all. I hated to see what it took to make Kailey realize that she might have been running away from the best thing in her life, but at the same time, I loved all the growth she went through coming to that realization. Even Joe had some growth to do in order to make their second chance work. That was one of the things I liked best about this book: it took both Kailey and Joe making changes for it all to come together.
This audiobook takes us back to Starlight Hill where another resident finds his HEA. A while back, Joe Hannigan, former military pilot and now a civilian pilot for those interested in a skydiving adventures, fell in love with celebrity stylist Kailey Robbins . But before he could profess his love to her, she not left his town but left him heartbroken. Kailey left, not because she didn’t love him , but because of fears of loving and then being left behind. Something she experienced as a child. All that changes when Joe is in an airplane crash and she rushes to him. The story was touching , sweet, with well developed plot and characters. Not easy to do in a novella. The narrator, Kimberly Austin, does a good job with the various voices. This is one perfect for an afternoon of leisure. I was entrusted a copy of this audiobook. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Joe and Kailey had been in a romantic situation, but Kailey thought small-town life was not for her. After hearing about Joe being in a plane crash, Kailey returns to Starlight Hill for a second chance at a life with Joe. This was a sweet second chance romance. Maybe it should not have taken a near-death encounter for Kailey to acknowledge her true feelings for Joe, but I am glad something pushed her in the right direction and forced her to work through her abandonment issues and fully open her heart to Joe.
This is a sweet novella that can be read as a stand alone from this series and focuses on pilot Joe Hannigan and Kailey a hairdresser who has done hair for the stars and is set to work on a popular tv drama soon.
Having broken up a month or two ago as Kailey has commitment and relationship issues, it takes an accident to bring the two back together and finally where they belong in each others arms.
We watch as Kailey lowers her barriers and actually tries to make a life with Joe in his small hometown and make friends with the locals, proving to Joe that she is here to stay this time.
It was a sweet read and felt rather short, but not rushed. I would have loved a full book with this couple, but this taster into their life was cute.
We meet Joe dealing with a plane that he is going to crash land. He hurt all over, and was able to walk away. The word that came to him as he knew what was ahead of him was Kailey. They met while on a job together, taking her to Starlight Hill, a small town, but home and family to him. She didn’t know what that was like being a foster kid, and it scared her and she ran. Seeing the crash on the news station, Kailey made a quick decision that Joe needed her. She was leaving in a month, having a Tv stylist job. Now she wanted to see Joe, even if she wasn’t welcome, by him or his family. Delightful story of second chances.
This is a super short read so perfect for when you only have a little time only took about 45 minutes to read but even in that short time it had me hooked
Joe and Kailey connected when they met on a job she was the makeup artist for a star and he the pilot of the plane they where using They had an instant connection so he took her home to Starlight Hill Kailey and she fled unable to handle the small town life. When Joe crashes his plane and hits the headlines Kailey has to rethink how she feels as she realises just how much she loves him Can they have a future read to see

Your heart will ache for Kailey. She is always prepared to leave before someone tells her to because of her years as a foster child. Joe loves Kailey but, he's unsure if he can trust her to stay this time. This is a really sweet and touching story about two people who need reassurances that their love strong and will last forever.

Quick, good, story of a second chance at love. Joe and Kailey meet while he's a pilot ferrying celebrities around and she's a make-up artist. They hit it off immediately. Joe takes Kailey to his hometown of Starlight Hill and Kailey realizes she doesn't do well in small towns! Their connection is still there when Joe crash lands a plane and once Kailey finds out, she rushes to his side. Perhaps the fear of losing love will make her overcome her aversion to small town life!
Quick second chance story between Joe and Kailey. After walking away from Joe and his small town, Kailey comes back when she hears Joe has been in a plane crash. She’s ready to go all in with him, but Joe is rightly skittish about welcoming her back for good. Low angst and sweet, we see friends from other Starlight Hill books, but it can be read alone.
The fourth book in the Starlight Hill series a well written story that held my interest until the end. Celebrity stylist Kailey Robbi and ex-military pilot Joe Hannigan's second chance story was well worth reading I enjoyed seeing them get their happy ending. I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobook of this title . (Audible Membership) When you fall out of the sky in a non responsive aircraft, then you r thoughts may flash to those things left undone or not said. When you realise that you may have lost someone to an accident, never to see them again, it makes you examine your life and what ythey mean to you.
This is a fun read and a good addition to the series. It was great to get to know Joe a little better and to meet Kailey and I look forward to seeing them in future books.
A sweetly sexy, action packed and highly entertaining second chance romance that was a very quick yet thrilling journey. Exciting adventure filled with witty and engaging charters, heart racing twists and edge of your seat passion.
I thought I read books 1-3 a while ago, but in reading this one, I either forgot or was wrong. I was a little lost. I definitely felt plunked down in the middle of a movie. Joe and Kailey clearly had history, but not knowing any back story on them, it was just okay for me
It was a very sweet book. Seeing Kailey finally fighting for what she wanted and Joe trying to be there for her without pushing too far. They deserved a happily ever after and I'm glaf they got it
Quick short audiobook, characters were interesting I pictured Joe as young Harrison Ford (smile). Will probably read more of this series as I liked the town and the characters.
