I got this book half hoping I would enjoy it but rather expecting to toss it. Before I was very many pages into the book I found myself hooked. The main character was going through things I could only imagine. She had lost all faith in God and His goodness. And then came the FBI agents. Their strong christian faith, prayers and encouragement made me happy I had picked up the book. Even the ending which I wasn't sure how she was going to manage was sweet. There was a little bit of romance which seemed somewhat strange as two people "fell in love" in a matter of days, but besides from a kiss or two they kept their feelings to themselves and God. I really appreciate that the attraction between the two people was not all about the sensual but something deeper.
Sarah has been angry at God so long she doesn't remember much from church. The cartel bombs an office in a small town and Sarah saw something. When the FBI and the cartel realize this they both want her.
Loved the story about Sam and Sarah! Couldn't put the book down once I started reading! It keeps you on the edge of your seat from the beginning to the end!
What I enjoyed: -Crime fiction with some interesting twists... without being a thriller or extremely suspenseful. At first, I wasn’t sure what to make of a cozy crime read (that’s not a cozy mystery), but I did end up enjoying the genre once I accepted it for what it is. -Inclusion of Gospel presentation as well as several realistic and relatable testimonies -The ending (You’ll just have to read it if you’d like to know why.)
What I didn’t like: -So repetitive. There was usually some new piece of info thrown in with the repetition, but I didn’t need all the old stuff again. -The language felt appropriate for a slightly younger audience, but maybe I’ve read too many classics lately. (This was not a major issue for me.)
The characters in this story are believable and you can feel the e.options of the main character. The timing of the events are a bit hurried but the ending was a surprise! Great read.
And it would have received 5 stars but for some mistakes in this version. Eye color, positions, and some punctuation. Action, real life scenarios, and great characters!
Although has a predictable ending was an interesting read, kept wanting to know how the author will break it all down and help in the walk of faith for Ms Masters. Reminded me of my own walk with Christ.
My 1st book by this author and certainly not the last. Interesting premise, lots of interesting plot twists, with growth for lead characters. Only downside for me are the typos. Sweet romance and intriguing storyline.
The book holds your nyest in the first few paragraphs. There is murder, nvestgatin and then a second bombing. Intrigue and drama moved with a little romance and the sharing of Gd and salvation.
From the very beginning of True Cover you are caught up in this ride and you never really knew what was going to happen next but knew whatever it was it was going to be exciting...
I love romantic suspense, but so many are too sensual for my taste. This is a wonderful Christian romantic suspense. Not only does it have the romance and suspense I love, but it has a strong faith element. I really like the twist at the end and immediately got the next book in the series.
True Cover is the first book I’ve read by author Ruth Kyser. I was so impressed with her smooth writing style and flow of her story. The book had several twists and turns in its mystery. What I loved most was the salvation story written amongst all the dangers and the main character’s suffering. It’s a well-crafted story you don’t want to miss and the first book in a series.
