What happens when a lonely water-girl finally finds her shore?

In a tourist town at the base of the Tetons, Maya Conway, a mythical being known as an Elemental, stands at a crossroads. On her current path, she is content using her life force—water—to protect humans and the environment. Her direction is altered when Mother Nature taps her to guide Terran Forrester, an analytical scientist, on his journey to become the next Elemental—Earth. If Maya crosses into his world, will her lonely heart find a partner or will his rational mind reject her otherworldly existence? When an ancient evil evolved from dark matter shadows their steps, which path will they choose—logic or love?

In the beginning this story was very jumpy to me. Felt like it just all over the place but once i got the grips of the authors writing it flowed very well and I really enjoyed this story. Maya is water and Terran is a human who she fell I love with. With her brothers Flint and Nolin, they have to try and defend the earth from an evil dark matter who can take over any human form. Find out what happens when maya's heart is in this fight too will she give up her powers for the love of her life or will he join her in the war.

The Elementals are trying to save the earth, and humanity. Quintessential evil is on the loose. In the midst of it all, an unbeliever, who is fighting against the call of his inner nature. I immersed myself in the story, loved all the water-related word usage that flows through from beginning to end.

I struggled thru some very mixed emotions while I read this book. Although I still on the fence about certain parts, overall is was a pleasant read.

The concept of the elements being controlled/ manipulated by a supernatural being that is one in the same as them, was very interesting. I found the idea very refreshing and having lots of potential. I did how ever struggle with the constant mass confusion that was the majority of the book. It seemed like the characters were constantly in the dark, acting shady or just oblivious to all that around them. I am more drawn to strong, confident and intelligent characters. I felt like all of the characters in this book might have been living under a rock or jut ditsy. Because of this, I found myself struggling to find and keep interest while reading.

In this story you meet a man who loves the Earth. He wants to make a difference, and is willing to do so at any cost. He keeps running into this mysteries woman that things never seem to add up with. The more he sees her, the more he is drawn to her in a sexual way. After a series of complicated and chaotic events he ends up meeting all the elements and is asked to join. At this time he freaks out in denial and the he is forced to make the decision and except the "true".

Over all a very well thought out and interesting idea.

What I Thought:

I really liked the premise of this book. It took a whole new look at elementals and their involvement in the world. I love both superheroes and elementals, and find reading about them is addicting. This book combines both of those loves and does in a way that gives you a fresh look at a great fantasy world.

I love that the writer had combined the elements of fantasy with scientific explanations and real world adds. It makes the book a great blend of life and fun, one that I couldn't put down!

The characters in the book were detailed and had great personalities. I found myself connecting with them and feeling as though I was part of their world. As they started to connect and become the saviours of the world, I wanted to jump in and help save people too.

The dark evil starts to show its evil head and the pair must decide whether they are going to immerse themselves fully in the world where they belong or not. Their choices, actions and the action if the read are really great. I think it makes a good read for both YA and adults, with a great action-packed, love-filled and fun energetic read. It is highly addicting and would make a great addition to anyone's TBR list, especially if you a lover of paranormal.

I was given this book for an honest review. Water's Threshold is book one of the Elemental Series by Jillian Jacobs. This was a great beginning to this series. I couldn't put this book down till I got to the end of the book. I can't wait to read the second book in this series.
Water's Threshold is the story of Maya and Terran. Maya is a water elemental who helps to protect the Earth and innocent humans. Terran is a human scientist that is also trying to protect the Earth.
Terran and Maya are fated to be together and fight side by side. Terran fell in love with Maya as they fought together. They fight the evil Quinn and win. Terran becomes the Earth elemental.
I give Water's Threshold 5 stars and would recommend this book to everyone that loves paranormal romances.

***Disclaimer: This book was given to me as an early Christmas Present by the author*******
This was a new genre for me and while I did finish it, and enjoyed certain elements (pun intended, lol!) of the story, it wasn't something I could read in one sitting. I might get the next one once I know more about it, and might even reread this at some point. Sometimes certain characters 'stay' with me longer than others, and these characters were definitely unique! I am definitely intrigued by the characters of Pilar and Violet, plus a
'twist' in one of the last chapters:)

Overall, interesting story and characters, and I look forward to seeing Ms. Jacobs again in the near future:)

Jillian Jacobs is a consummate storyteller. I loved the elementals in this story, she connected her main characters to the earth, wind, water, etc. (And I can't wait to see more from Salt. What a great character!) It's definitely a step beyond the standard tropes for paranormal romances! Who knew foggy mist could be so sexy? If you're looking for a next level read, Jillian Jacobs never disappoints!

What a unique idea, Maya's life source is water, not blood. Maya is a good paranormal who joins forces with Terran, a mortal man, to fight against an evil, despicable, unearthly black force that is trying to destroy the environment. This book is one of those books that I couldn't put down until the end to find out who was the winner, good or evil.

Loved this book. I'm not a huge paranormal fan, but this one drew me in and made me want more. The whole idea of the elements was unique for me and I loved the romance involved. Terran is a heartthrob :)
