I love writing, it's been my dream for many years, and in October of 2013, when my first book went live on Amazon, that dream came true.

Writing love stories that are centered on flawed but lovable characters is my passion. Finding love between people isn't easy, nor should it be. Even in a book, there have to be obstacles for the story to feel real.

I am a mother of three amazing people, and three adorable fur babies. I live in Colorado but love many other places besides my home. One state in particular is New Mexico, the state where I was born has always held a place in my heart.

People and places make my stories what they are. Each character I've written is a part of me in some way. Each place I write is as well. Adventures come in many ways, and each of my stories has taken me on an adventure that I treasure.

Come with me on my adventures and fall in love with my characters, as I have. I promise, you will love the ride.

3.5 star review by The Blogger Girls.

This story is about Brian, a guy who seemed to have it all and his life happy where he wants it. Then, Morgan, the guy he loved but who up and left him without so much as a word two years prior, shows up asking for a second chance.

When the story begins, Brian is in a sort of relationship with Pez. It seems they share a mostly D/S relationship, but there are obviously feelings there on both sides that neither have shared for different reasons. Knowing Brian was in love with Morgan at one time, and most likely still is, Pez pushes Brian to give Morgan a second chance and he walks away.

The positive thing here is that Brian doesn’t just take Morgan right back, he makes him work for it and really earn his way back in. While this is going on, we see a lot of Brian at work, which was quite interesting, as he is a counselor at a women’s prison, and there were quite a few characters and things going on there that I’d have liked to see more of.

I never really warmed up to Brian and Morgan together. Maybe that is due to not really getting to see much of them in an actual relationship. We see a lot of Brian being dominant and controlling Morgan through his penance. Morgan seems a bit whiny and self-centered. He knows he screwed up and is willing to do anything to make it up to Brian. Neither really grabbed a hold of me.

Pez, on the other hand… I adored what little we saw of him. I found myself turning pages just in the hopes of seeing more of him. He took the high road and let Brian go, hurting himself in the process. He seems to be the opposite of Morgan in many ways. He goes on a bit of a bender and really doesn’t seem to be in a very good place at the moment. Brian still has feelings for him and realizes he loves both men. I really hope Brian can catch up to him in time to make things better.

This is the start of a series, and I’m really looking forward to the next one to see how things pan out. I’m hoping to see a little more in the way of actual relationships between these guys, and if Brian can bring Pez into his and Morgan’s relationship, how he will manage two subs at once, how the two subs will handle competing for the attention of Brian, etc.

The story moves along at a good pace in some aspects, but in others, not so much. There are a lot of reminders of what happened two years ago, which seemed a little repetitive, but with this being the first book, I’m thinking of this as the background/build up and am expecting the next one to really take hold.

I gotta tell you, these guys are a huge work in progress and at first glance, there's not much to love. Essentially, this is a story about Brian. Morgan and Pez are secondary characters that revolve around him. That they both look up to Brian and think he's an amazing and uniquely powerful Dom is a little mind boggling because, frankly, the guy's a mess. Sure, he's decisive in the bedroom... usually, but his personal life is a completely different story. He analyzes every decision to death, second guesses himself, vacillates back and fourth, is constantly asking for outside input, even for the smallest of decisions, and actually goes so far as to make life changing relationship decisions on nothing more than his sub's say-so. Brian is reactive, not proactive. He fails to ground his subs so it's not at all surprising that they are out of control.

Morgan is not a likable character. Egotistical and self centered, even his submission is all about him. He says that he regrets the poor decisions he made in the past but doesn't consistently follow up his words with actions. He comes back to Brian, but it seems to be a rather impulsive action rather than a decision he's dedicated to. Morgan his asking for the rewards yet seems surprised when asked to change his old ways and make sacrifices.

Pez is the most engaging character by far. My heart breaks for him. He's so devoted to Brian. The Brian that is flawed in many ways but still takes care of him, and makes love to him as a Dom should. Enter Morgan an the Brian he has known for years evaporates into a ball of nerves and his world shatters. His story ends quite abruptly and I'm hoping it will be continued in book two.

5 Stars for the Sub-plot!
In addition to the soap-opera-worthy triangle there is actually a really interesting secondary story that involves Brian's work as a psychologist at a women's prison. It's my favorite part of the story by far and I'd read the second installment in the series for no other reason than to find out what happens to those characters. It's intriguing, thought provoking and unique.

4 Stars for the Author!
I had to remind myself that it happens; authors I enjoy write books that I don't care for every once in awhile. Rain's has a consistent and high quality writing style. I have no complaints in that department, and will continue to buy her books in the future.

Second Chances Book One is the first book of a series. The story starts out with a DOM who had lost his Sub two years ago after he had walked out to follow his dreams. Without a word or explanation, Morgan had done the unthinkable and broke Brian's heart by leaving. Brian was a psychologist and experienced DOM who met another man after Morgan had left, Pez, who was a rent boy that came into Brian's life becoming a part of Brian's BDSM world. Brian and Pez loved each other, but neither had said it until Morgan shows up at Brian's doorstep. Pez helped put Brian's life back together after Morgan had left, but Pez knew that Brian loved Morgan and convinced Brian to give Morgan a second chance.
Brian had agreed, but could not get Pez out of his thoughts..He did love Pez and Morgan realized just how much. When Brian brought Morgan back to his home, Brian was determined to not take Morgan to bed until he felt Morgan was punished for him leaving. Brian showed his true DOM nature working him step by step and working for the trust that they both needed towards each other. Should he take Morgan back as his lover and submissive? As the time went on Travis, one of Brian's friends, told him that Pez was in the club and what he was doing. Brian didn't know what to do. He did know he needed to find him. He loved him after all. He loved them both..... Great beginning of a series. Second Chances of a love relationship and DOM/Sub. Follow the journey of the three men caught in their web of love....Don't miss this one. So much more to come.

Rain Carrington sure can tell a story! Second Chances is installment one of a serial that Rain is writing and I have to say I cannot wait for the next book.

What I liked most of this story is Brian the big bad DOM shows his emotions, shows his hurts and sorrows and pulls himself through them with the help of Pez his new Sub. Brian was hurt badly by his first SUB Morgan, Morgan left without a word to pursue his dream of becoming a model and when he left he left a gaping whole in Brian's life but after much grieving and a lot of alcohol, he worked through his emotions with the help of Pez. Although Brian cannot put himself through loving someone again..him and Pez have a caring, sexy and kinky relationship that is fulfilling to Brian until Morgan comes back into his life.

I enjoyed the ups and downs and the emotions throughout this story. I enjoyed the characters, especially PEZ. Pez is a sweet and loving guy who wants to succeed in life by putting himself through school and making a life with Brian and when Brian is torn between Pez and Morgan, Pez pushes Brian to Morgan his first love. Although I have some ideas on where the story is going...I cannot wait to find out what comes next with these three characters. I love that Lonnie and Travis make a appearance and are still so sweet and loving. I Loved the part with the girl's prison and sharing their stories and working through their troubles, I enjoyed some of those characters as well. 4.5 to 5 stars

Four stars!
This is the first in a brand new serial and I enjoyed the heck out of it. While I’m generally not a fan of serials since I want the whole story and I want it now, this one I will gladly wait for each installment. The characters pulled me in and made me want to keep reading. I was hurt with all three of them for their individual loves that are very real and very full but they can’t all have it. They’re clearly headed in a menage direction, but the three of them aren’t there yet. Pez is hurt the most though he willingly gave himself up for the position he’s in. Doesn’t make his pain any less hard to read and feel. I had a hard time liking Morgan at first since he acted rashly both before the story when he left with no word and at the beginning of the story when he arrives with no word again. He comes off like he doesn’t care for the feelings of others. But as the story progresses you see that’s hardly the case. I’m very interested how this story is going to continue. There are many different threads going on that are intertwined and make you want to know more. I can’t wait for the next installment to find out what happens next.

Rain Carrington’s Second Chances had me forcing myself to sit down and not jump around, waving my hands, while screaming “fan-girl, fan-girl here!”

If you have not had a chance to see what Carrington’s new series, The Denver Diaries Collection, is all about, I encourage you to do so. Especially given the fact that upcoming serial editions are expected every 4-6 weeks.

For anyone who gets invested in characters, that is not so long to wait. And let me say, you will be invested!

Carrington creates a beautiful cast of characters that just reach inside and grab you and don’t want to let go.

On these pages she has created a Dom so fierce, yet with such loyal compassion and understanding, that you are not going to want to put this book down.

When Morgan turns up at his former Master Brian's door begging for a second chance, Brian's instinct is to send him away. He still feels betrayed at the way Morgan left him and he is also now in a new relationship with submissive Pez. It is Pez that convinces him to give Morgan a second chance. As the relationship grows again between Brian and Morgan, Brian can't put Pez completely out of his mind, having strong feelings for both men.

This is a BDSM relationship, with Brian making Morgan earn his way back into Brian's favours. There were parts of this that I did find uncomfortable to read.

I really enjoyed getting inside Brian's head as he struggles with his feelings for both men and the inner turmoil he goes through having to let one of them go. It was, at times, a fascinating read that gave an interesting insight into tough love.

I really did not like this book. I've been reading a lot of BDSM/love stories lately and this was the only one where I really couldn't stand the main characters. The only character I felt for was Pez. I know Brian and Morgan were a couple but their relationship was so twisted. I understand why Brian had Morgan going through all those ridiculous steps to gain his trust but I rolled my eyes when Brian said he wasn't trying to be malicious. No, he was being petty. I understand Morgan left him for stupid reasons and Brian was hurt. I don't see how humiliating Morgan was going to make Brian feel better. Then after being in his bubble with Morgan, he wanted to worry about Pez. If he really cared about Pez, he shouldn't have let him leave like that. Even though I want to know why happens to Pez, I don't think I can read the next book because I don't think I can read about Brian anymore.

The start of the book was very rough because the editing was BADDDDD. The names of the characters kept getting mixed up, so I was having to re-read to figure out who was actually doing what. After that it cleared up quite a bit with only a slip once in a while.

Enjoying the series. The characters are all great. Brian is such a good man as well as a good DOM. Morgan had a hard time coming back but Brian is all for second chances :)

I'm just worried about Pez.

Rain never disappoints with her stories. As soon as started reading I got sucked in these three men's lives and could not put it down. Right away Pez and Brian had my heart. Took a little more time to warm up to Morgan. I hated to finish this first book and the wait to see where the author takes the story might kill me. The big bonus was to get a little glimpse of how Travis and Lonnie are doing. Can't wait for the next one.

Brilliant

I'm not usually a fan of BDSM books. There are very few authors that I will read that write in this genre Rain is obviously one of them. I have been following her from the days she was posting free stories and quickly bought her first book. She has a way of bringing you into the book and making you feel the emotions of her characters. This book is now my 3rd favorite from her and I can't wait to continue the series.

Detested 2 out of 3 MCs. Brian was an emotional mess and was a spiteful Dom. He did not practice how he counseled patients at his job. He was unable to appreciate Paz. I did not feel sorry for him at all. Morgan was self centered and did not walk his talk when he came back to Brian. Paz was the only shining star in this trio. Unfortunately, I didn't care enough about the other two to continue the series.

Second chances indeed.... I like Brian, he's a bit screwed up, has issues, but all he wants is to fully love and trust someone. I wouldn't have given Madison a second chance, I liked him with Pez. Poor Pez, looks like he maybe setting himself up for major problems
loved this story, and can't wait to fiND out what happens next

Sub-lime (see what I did there!)

I do not hide the fact that I love Rain Carrington but this is possibly the best thing she has written. Brian deciding between his current sub and 'the one that walked away'. All the women in prison, Pez going off the rails. I don't know what hit me the most but I now have a book hangover and six weeks is too long to wait for book 2!

I really wanted to like this one, I bought the bundle, but I had to struggle to get to the 38%. Brian is one of the modt unsympathetic characters I have encountered in quite a while. There's just nothing I like about him. He acts like a spoiled teenager who is trying to punish his parents for not doting on him 24/7.

I find this book hard to review. It's a good story and there isn't anything wrong with it at all but I think my issue lies with the characters. For Morgan to expect Brian to take him back two years after walking out on him without a word, is just cheeky and as for Brian the big strong Dom ruthlessly dumping his current sub in order to take Morgan back is just unacceptable. Not fitting of a D/s relationship.

Submissive or Dominant?

Brian is a psychologist at a woman's prison.
His sub is a high fashion model, who leaves when they want different things.

But love brings him back.

Will they be able to trust each other enough to stay together?

A very good story about what a dominant demands and what the mindset of a true submissive needs to be.

So, I've never read anything by this author and got the first four of these books when they were on sale recently. WOW! Why didn't I get them sooner?!?!
In this we meet Brian, Pez and Morgan.
What to say about these guys and their story...
To me it felt like several stories that intertwined until eventually they became one story.
Firstly we have Brian's story, the story of his work with the women in the prison, his relationship with his father, his relationship with Pez & Morgan, separately to start and then as a trio, then seeing him figure out how to be a perfect Dom to both of them. On top of this though he has his own demons to contend with too.
Then we've got Morgan & Pez,.,...,, Morgan and his modelling career, Pez and his renting and their love for Brian but, at first, hate for each other.
This story has so many elements, emotions and things in between that you have to take your time when reading it or you WILL miss something. I loved all 3 main characters and the side characters too. Yes, Brian is a tough dom but his punishments, I feel, were perfect and unique for each sub.
At times I did wonder how the three would ever work out, seeing the love/hate relationship between Pez and Morgan but, the way the author wrote it, that it wasn't simply a quick fix or that they feel in instalove was brilliant. Brian had to work REALLY hard with both of them and they all had to adjust and Morgan and Pez both had to realise that their singular relationships with Brian had to be forgotten to make things work as a threesome. I'm also glad that this didn't happen overnight with them and that they still threw what had happened in their pasts at each other.
GAH!! I could go on about other things in the book I read and loved but I won't, suffice to say though that this was an absolutely fantastic read and I seriously can't wait to read the rest of the series and see what happens next!
Absolutely loved it!!
