The premise of the book is great who wouldn't want 101 ways to leave depression, stress and anxiety behind. The author does present great ways to help you relieve stress and anxiety and it was nice to have the ideas all in one place. I don't believe this book is not going to help much if you have diagnosed with a major depression disorder like I have been; however, I believe this would be the perfect read for someone is feeling a little blue, stressed out, feeling anxious or suffering from low self esteem. It's worth a read because it does offer positive suggestions that everyone can use in their daily life it's just not what I need at the moment but I would definitely gift it to someone who needs lifting up.
Worth reading. The book has a good introduction to, how to recognise and address some issues that particularly now during this restrictive pandemic we all came across to some degree or another. For many, reading about how our emotions and psyche can be affected by circumstances might be enough by following the advice, however, this book isn't intended as therapy for depression and if needed one should seek professional help. Don't worry, there is a long waiting list. You won't be alone.

Apart from helping me realise my possible condition, this book also explains what to do to avoid depression. There are simple and obvious steps but i needed the reminder of how important these steps actually are. I think it’s a good book for everyone, quick and easy read but a good reminder, or/and a 1st step toward getting some help with anxiety and depression.

Being a woman who suffers with clinical depression quite often, I was anxious to read this book, penned by a group known as Shining Universe Energy Books. I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book, through Reading Deals, so I could give an honest review. Truthfully told, to me the book should have been titled "101 Ways to Beat the Blues" than to claim the concepts inside can beat depression. Don't get me wrong, there is some good information about the different types of depression in the beginning of the book which one would find helpful if faced with the possibility of having the condition, but when getting into the actual ways to beat depression, therein lies the rub.
For instance, there are many suggestions for using foods containing certain nutrients, taking certain supplements, and scientific data (such as one fact that "meditation helps build gray matter in the brain"), These things are stated with no studies, statistics, or references to back them up, which lends an air of the statements being questionable.
Also, with 101 ways to "beat depression" as a claim, it is really a misnomer. There are often the same tips mentioned over and over, just in different ways (i.e., "make a to-do list," "prioritize tasks," "plan out your day," etc.). It is as if these tips were garnered from other sources or articles then combined into this book.
While I do not recommend this book for those who are clinically depressed, It is a nice tool for those who find themselves occasionally "down in the dumps" and need techniques for feeling better.
