Chloe never set out to be famous, but her marriage to Hollywood A-lister, Jason Vanderholt, made her a celebrity by association. Jealous and nosy fans heckle her in public and the tabloids portray her as cold, arrogant, and unworthy of her husband. As bad as that is, it’s about to get a whole lot worse.
Her brother, Chris, is being paroled from prison, where he has been serving time for shooting and nearly killing Chloe when she was a child. This is not a situation that she wants splashed all over the headlines, especially because this could incite her brother to try to finish the job.
When Chloe gets word of a string of crimes that might be tied to her brother, she finds she has yet another their father, Dr. Winters. He refuses to cooperate with Chloe’s security team and even gives the police a hard time when they try to investigate.
The one ally Chloe has in her own family is her half-sister, Beth, a public prosecutor intent on bringing Chris to justice. Her approach is so aggressive that everyone from Chloe’s security specialist to the police detective insists that she is doing more harm than good. Beth assures Chloe that her way is the only way that will work, which leaves Chloe to decide whether to trust the experts, or the sister she barely knows. The wrong choice puts her very life in danger.

If you've read the others in the series, you know what you're getting with this one. And please, read the others first. You really need the character backgrounds and I think that's fitting with what Tippetts is doing with this series.
This is another in the Jason/Chloe relationship line, though it feels like it's thinner in ways the others weren't. You can see that with the really awkward-fitting title. There's really nothing wicked about Beth, and even if you try to use it in the modern usage as a stand-in for "awesome", it's still awkward. Plus, going back to the Chris well felt plodding as well. Chris is a huge loser and do we really need to retread that wheel?
But I've always been in this for Chloe and Jason and since Tippetts delivers exactly what I love about them, I was happy to be along for the ride. I really like seeing their developing marriage and the steps they take to keep growing together. I like that it's deliberate and that they have to work at it but that they both obviously find it fulfilling. In this book, you can really see how much their relationship has become their safe home base and I love seeing them find that well-earned respite with each other.
Anyway, four stars is a little generous, but I justify it as rounding up from a reasonable 3.5.
So, this isn't a complete story. I really like what's here, but it's not much. I wanted more. Much more. This book introduces a bunch of storylines - and then it just finishes, with no actual resolution. I feel like I read the first ten chapters of a book - really decent chapters, but the next fifteen just aren't there.
Hmmmm. I didn't like Chloe as well as I remember liking her in the past books. She came off as too judgmental (even as she was aware of being that way).
I suppose it was also a bit too dramatic for my tastes. I'd really be happier with low key books about Chloe and Jason's relationship and the challenges of celebrity life.
That said, it kept me reading! I wasn't actually planning to read it all yesterday, ha.
I recieved an ARC copy of this story. Here is an honest review.
Yet again E M Tippetts has brought a well written story. Another fantastic look into the lives of Chloe and Jason.
This story is different from the last two. We are looking more at Chloe's relationships with her family and less about her work.
I really enjoyed this story. I loved it had more Jason in it as he was really lacking in the last two and the decision to look at Chloe's relationships with her sister and mother. Although I enjoyed nobody's damsel and big bad wolf. I did miss the relationship side of someone else's fairytale.
This book continued to keep me guessing right until the end and I supose my only problem is that I didn't feel like this ending was finished, with a lot still in the air. I hope there will be another book, I love this series.
I love this series. It's one of my favorites because it is engaging and keeps up an even pace. The characters are familiar to me now and I'm invested in them and their happiness. I think you probably could read this book as a stand alone, but I don't think it will be as good as if you started from the beginning.
Chloe and Jason are good together. They've been through a lot of things and they work hard at taking care of each other. That's what I like best about them. They are figuring things out together. Jason especially really steps up in this book and works hard to put Chloe first and be there for her. Chloe has a lot of big life things happening and she is trying hard to take care of the people she loves but honestly, she has a pretty messed up family and it's sort of crazy! Chloe is strong even in her moments of weakness- and she does have those- which helps me to relate and empathize with her.
This series sort of reminds me of a soap opera. Especially this episode. :) It has a hint of danger and suspense, tons of family drama- who do you trust? Old enemies, new allies, and behind it all a sweet continuing romance between a girl and her famous husband.
This book was easy to read. I read through it quickly and enjoyed all my minutes with these characters. I'm glad to be a part of the review team for this book and I thank WordSmith Publicity for the review copy.
Tippetts so unheimlich gerne.
1. Nicht mein Märchen (Buch 1) 2. Prinzessin in Not (Buch 2) 3. Break it Up (Spin-off) 4. A Safe Space (Spin-off) 5.
As a couple married in the last few years, Chloe and Jason have a lot of firsts ahead. When Chris is released while they are negotiating young married life, things get intense.
Daddy Dearest intervenes on behalf of Chris, trying to seem like he is attempting to connect with Chloe. Things get intense and dangerous.
Something is up with mom Karen. She appears back in town, and all does not seem well.
More action promises to be ahead.
I really enjoy the combination of interpersonal relationships with humor and crime. A great talent to combine the serious with the funny and the crazy.

Can't really explain why I was so fascinated by this series, but I was. Loved the characters, but that wasn't it. Loved the peeks into other lifestyles, but that wasn't it, either. I guess it's because the author completely drew me into the saga, and I felt as if these were real people. I'll definitely continue reading the series!
Book 4 in this series didn't disappoint, kept right up with the action, Chloe and Jason making their lives mesh & dealing with issues of her family.
Moral Note: Violence - More CSI descriptions. Mild language. Romance -intimacy talk in marriage - roles Jason has to play in his job. Mild Spoiler - Mild talk of Beth coming out of the closet.
Chloe's story continues and we get introduced to more characters and get more glimpses into what makes Chloe, Chloe. She has a lot to get through here. I am loving this series but I sort of wished it was all in one book as I love Chloe and Jason.

I love this series and have really grown fond of the characters. This is book 4 and having read them all, I am hooked on the series. The author is extremely talented at developing her characters and telling the story. I am looking forward to the next book.

This another great addition to this series. The characters are well defined and engaging from the beginning of the storyline to the end. I'm having fun with this series.

I have always adored this series as there is something quirky and sweet about Chloe and Jason Vanderholt. Technically this can be read as a standalone but I think at minimum Someone Else's Fairytale needs to be read first.
In this book it is a continuation of Chloe and Jason in their married life as they deal with the aftermath of her brother getting out of jail. The brother who tried to kill her. From reading the title at first you think her half sister is a bad wicked but she's a good wicked, that you couldn't ask for better in a sister.
E.M. Tippetts has a way of writing the quirky nuances and pauses that happen in conversations that makes the characters more real. This book had some suspense and we were left with a possible cliffhanger, but it all depends on perspective. For some it will be enough closure and for others they will want more from the ending.
This book was cute and suspenseful but I was left wanting a bit more. It had it's usual E.M. Tippetts charm but it felt like I wanted more from the story. You know when you read a book within a series that is good but feels more like a bridge book getting us ready for the next book? This is what this book felt like. It felt like there were a lot of details but nothing earth shattering to get a visceral reaction out of me, but we were left wanting or needing more to truly get closure within the story. My fingers are crossed we get another book in this series where we can get closure to this suspense and more of Chloe and Jason and how they deal with their relationship, fame, careers and family.
My Wicked Half-Sister continues the story of Chloe and Jason. I was expecting more of a mystery, but instead the book focuses a lot on Chloe's relationships. Since these complicated relationships define her life, whether she wants them to or not, it makes sense to spend some time on them.
Chloe herself has a dispassionate voice, which can almost come across as mechanical, but it makes sense to me, since she's the survivor of severe childhood trauma. Emotional disconnect is a survival mechanism. And since she's so dispassionate and often confused about what she's actually feeling, I enjoyed seeing her think through her relationship with her mother and do some reaching out and forgiving of her own. Chloe and Jason also work hard on trying to find balance between their home life and his celebrity life, which is only just touched on, but is vitally important to the story. But what I really liked was seeing Chloe get closer to her half-sister, Beth, and the lengths Beth would go to to protect Chloe. The true sibling affection that grew between them through the story was enjoyable to read. I always like it when families go to bat for each other.
Sometimes the story got a little dialogue-heavy and I lost track of who was speaking. And occasionally I didn't feel like I was inside some of the characters' heads enough to understand their motives. But as the story is written from Chloe's perspective and she has trouble getting inside people's heads, it makes sense. Really, Ms. Tippetts is a brilliant writer and I love her books. GO READ THEM. SHARE IN THE JOY.
I enjoyed this read and finished it in about two days. It was interesting to see how Jason and Chloe have progressed in their relationship from an awkward relationship to a pretty sweet and considerate marriage. I'm looking forward to what comes next for these two and hope things turn out well for Chloe's mom considering all that happened to her in this book. It definitely made me feel sympathetic towards her but I still feel a more than a little upset about how she handled the situation. As for Beth, I was still trying to find the "wicked" part, but I guess that's just all in the title! If anything, she was more of the meddling older sister, not exactly "evil" in any way. If anything, Chris is the "wicked" half-brother and Dr. Winters is someone not to be trusted.
Fun, but not as funny as the last ones, and most certainly more serious read!
Wicked Good This book definitely sets you up to want more from the series. It's a fast paced, smooth read, full of drama and a few unexpected turns that I believe we will learn more about in future installments. The story focuses heavily on Chloe and she is often at odds with herself. Where she previously seems to be the very steady voice of reason, with these new developments of her past being thrust into her present, she is unsure of herself, and it really shows. What should she do? Even how should she be feeling. As you can imagine, having a homicidal brother possibly gunning for you can put you off of your game too. I found my biggest question was who should she be trusting? I love Chloe's character and felt myself feeling protective of her. I enjoyed the read overall, I was just not ready for it to be over with when I reached the end. I look forward to reading more of the series. I was generously given this book for an honest review.
I always loved reading, but school, life and other things got in my way for the last couple of years... But last year I got really into reading again and the first thing I read was "Someone Else's Fairytale"! And it was love at first sight... So much so taut I've read it at least 20 times...at least. I love Chloe, I love Jason, I love how every little thing in this is series is real; nothing is perfect and that makes me love E.M. even more... "My Wicked Half-Sister" has blown me away. First book will always be my favorite, but this one is a really close second. I loved everything about it, and as was already mention, I loved how focus was more in the relationships aspects and less on Chloe's job and such... I'm a big fan of this series and I cannot wait for the next one... Can it be out already?!
Pretty good 4th installment in the series! Chloe and Jason are back and this couple never has a dull moment. The same action and mystery surround this couple as again Chloe's past comes back into their lives. Interestingly enough Jason's fame you would imagine to be the biggest drama in theirs lives is not. Chloe seems to often be the catalyst in their relationship. With Chloe's sister making a much larger character this time as well as her mom...there are a few surprises that I can't wait to see play out a bit more. I honestly would prefer the next installment to focus on Jason again. I'm starting to forget why he was so dreamy in book one.
Solid addition to the series. I received this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I liked this book but not as much as the first. It was good to follow Chloe's life again and there are some tender moments between her and Jason.
The title was a little confusing. I thought it might mean wicked evil but it means wicked awesome. Some things are left unresolved and you're left hanging but that's what the next book is for right?
A lot of this book is Chloe gaining a better understanding of her mother and her relationship with her.
I'm intrigued to find out who is targeting Chris, but this may not even be covered in the next book ( and I don't like to read blurbs in case of spoilers).
I might read the next book in the series, but I'll take a break for now.

As always I really liked the book. It's an easy read, perfect for a stressful time. I really like Chloe, but I didn't enjoy her relationship with Jason as much as I did before. Something just felt wrong as if something bad is coming up. I really liked her relationship to her sister, though. However I'm kinda disappointed with the ending. It feels like the author just stopped in the middle of the book. Nothing really comes to an end and you're basically left standing in the rain. I'm glad that there will be more books in this series and I'm really looking forward to them, but I really hope they will be as good as the other books in this series!
Are you ready for book four in the Someone Else's Fairytale series?? I have to say that this one wasn't my favorite of the books. I've gotten to know the characters even better since starting this series and I am enjoying their growth. Especially where Chloe and Jason are headed! So happy! Emily is a great story teller and doesn't leave anything out when bringing her characters to life. She gives them their own stories in fact. I would love to see what is going on in Chris' mind, is he guilty, is he sorry for his past? I will be waiting for book five with anticipation!
Just finished reading the ARC version of this book. Really enjoyed it! This one is back to being a more Chloe and Jason centered story while including the other characters as well. Not to rush the author, but can't wait to see what comes next. :)
Merged review:
More Jason and Chloe!
Another good book in the Someone Else's Fairytale series. Suspenseful and fun, I can't wait to see where this story goes next.
AMAZING!!! This book was extremely intriguing. I wasn't able to set it aside for hardly anything. The writing of this author is wonderful. The characters and the plot will pull you in! Think I just found another favorite author after reading this one!
I really like this storyline, the not so perfect lives of Hollywood couple. I really enjoy all the characters, although Chloe's mother is hard to get to know, like pulling teeth. Plenty of humor in the stressful story. Can't wait for the next story and baby girl!
I have enjoyed each book in this series immensely. Chloe and Jason are a perfect couple, and their friends and family are enjoyable to read about as well. I can't wait for the next book!
