Lissa Drexel, a young university instructor, was leading a busy academic life until her cousin came to town. Suddenly, her routine collapsed and Lissa was linked with a mysterious accident. Her intense, inquiring Scorpio nature drew her into the investigation being led by ex-boyfriend detective Anson Harris - and the accident began to look like homicide!
Shaken, she developed a protective relationship with Ed Springer, a flirtatious Leo, and together they search for an explanation of the murder. But the closer they get to a solution, the more terrified Lissa becomes - do threatening signs mean she is fated to be the next victim of an "accidental" death?
2.5 stars. I thought this was better than the other DeWeese Zodiac Gothic I just read, but as with that one, the "Gothic" part is lost on me. It's a basic murder mystery. The cover represents one of the opening scenes, and lest our heroine look like she's on the balcony of a spooky mansion, she's not - she's at a hotel. I figured out part of the "whodunnit" early on. Not terrible, but overall, another meh one for me.
