Belle Calhoune writes heartwarming, inspirational romance novels set in small, cozy towns. Married to her college sweetheart and living in southern Connecticut, she is the mother of two girls. Born and raised in Massachusetts, she is one of five children. Growing up across the street from a public library allowed her to become an avid reader who aspired to be a romance writer. When she isn't writing, she enjoys reading, spending time in Cape Cod, traveling and enjoying time with friends and family. Belle hopes her books will provide readers with inspiration, entertainment and an escape from day to day life.
To be frank and honest, the quality of the writing in this book was quite disappointing, Belle continuing her trend of telling rather than showing, and repetition in a rather uncomfortable way to read through. However, the moments she provides between Mac and Callie are sweet and beautiful, the last glimpse at the Donahue clan near the end fun and satisfying, and the reunion between the six friends enjoyable. Although I feel like the themes and issues addressed in this story, which excite me for the emotional possibilities they put forth, were not plumbed to the depths that they could and should have been, if this is all I'm going to get, I'm glad I at least got this much.
A great story of Callie, Mac's birth sister. I like how the author continues this story from the point Mac finds her. The author made a remarkable transition & connection. I would like a bit more explanation/understanding of the resolution. It's still a great story that ends @ Mac's wedding: an artful connection to Mac's family.
I've read this book before. Since then I've had a stroke have lost some of my memories, but I remember how much I like it so I jumped on the chance to read it again. Now I'm going to read the whole series. I like all of the books you have written that I have read. Thanks.
Sometimes He uses others to lead us to the forgiveness we need so we can heal. Friendships, families and friends all had issues but honesty, compassion and love bring happiness.
Of course, I knew any writer who could captivate me so thoroughly with the Donahue brothers' series would capture me in any other series too, and this being a spin-off of that series just made it all the more interesting. The first book begins with Callie, Mac's sister. At one point, Mac warned her about allowing their past to keep her from falling in love. He admitted that he kept himself aloof and wouldn't allow relationships to become serious because he believed he was damaged goods. The abuse they suffered at the hands of their stepfather was horrific and gave them plenty of emotional baggage to carry around. Who would want to get involved with someone like that? But he'd found Delilah and found that yes, he had a troubled past, and yes, he had issues he still had to deal with, but that didn't mean he couldn't be loved. He wanted the same for Callie. She didn't believe she was damaged goods, did she? The fact that she'd never been romantically close to another guy couldn't be related to that, could it? But she'd known Jax since they were kids, and Jax was doing everything he could to show Callie he was interested. They were just childhood friends in her eyes though, and it drove Jax crazy. He had no idea of her past though. He knew she'd been adopted, but even Callie herself didn't know until recently that it was through an illegal adoption ring and her father had told her years ago that Mac was dead. When Mac shows up at the Duval mansion, Callie's world is turned upside down. She immediately recognizes him and her relationship with her adoptive parents is forever fractured. Or is it? Can she ever forgive her father for not only lying to her about her brother but participating in the adoption ring in the first place that took her away from her brother? She was known as the pampered princess of Savannah, but nothing material her parents could give her could ever make up for this. Jax is sent to try to talk Callie out of moving out of her parents' home. He's sent by her father, of course, but he has no idea of the real reason for Callie leaving and is stunned when he meets up with Mac helping her move. Of course, he thinks it's a romantic relationship he hadn't known about. There are six women who make up this series. They all started out as friends, but as life often has a way of doing, things happened that tore their friendship apart. Only Callie and Olivia remained fast friends, but things are about to change in ways no one could have expected. This is a beautiful story of love and forgiveness, about not allowing your past determine who you are now and about seizing the moment when life gives you an opportunity at love.
Callie and Jax have known each other since elementary school. The things he used to do to her will have you smiling. Watching their relationship change is beautiful. Mac and Luke are very special brothers. The way they take care of Callie is beautiful. You will fall in love with Miss. Hattie she is one special lady. What Miss. Hattie does to get these six friends back together again is amazing. You will feel God working throughout this whole book. This book deserves a higher rating than a five star rating.
Another good, clean story. It was interesting to find out what happened to Callie after she and Mac were reunited. I was good to hear about the Donahue family again and Mac and Delilah's wedding. Callie's life is looking good as Jax, her long time friend, has become something more and they became engaged. Family. love, and forgiveness play a big part in this story.
Such a beautiful story of young Iove that blossomed into true love. The love of true friends that no matter what obstacles that may tear them apart, at some point Iove conquers all and brings them together again.
Belle Calhoune has done it again! I loved the Donahue boys books....and the first book in this series did not disappoint either. It was a good story line and I really liked the characters. On to book 2!
It was great to finally read this book that brought Mac and Callie's family life full circle to a loving conclusion for both of them. Callie and Jax's long-time friendship turned to finally-recognized love was a fitting conclusion at the wedding of Mac and Delilah.
Till The End of Time is by Belle Calhoune. This is book 1 of the Secrets of Savannah series. This series is about six girls who had been best of friends until something broke them apart. During the last summers they were together, they had worked for Miss Hattie at Savannah House. She had taken them under her wings and taught them life lessons as they worked for her. Miss Hattie adored the girls and they adored her. Callie Duvall has just learned that for the last twenty-one years, her parents had kept a secret from her. She learned she had been illegally adopted when she and her brother, Mac, were taken from their abusive home. Mac had been taken to the hospital but she had been taken supposedly by Child Services; but she had been kidnapped. The Duvalls had been very good to her and loved her dearly. However, her Father had told her that her brother, Mac, had died. Now she learned differently when Mac had traced her through a PI. She had moved out of the Duvall mansion to a cottage owned by Miss Hattie. She had to delve through the lies and hope to come to the point of forgiving her adoptive parents. Jax Holden was one of the executives at Duvall Investments. He and Callie had known each other all their lives. They had been friends in school but not close. Now there was a tension between them. Jax came to visit Callie at her cottage at her father’s bequest. He was to get Callie to see her way to forgive her father and return home. However, Mr. Duvall had not told Jax the entire story. So, his visit to Callie was a disaster and fouled up his plans to court Callie. Jax had loved Callie since they were little. Would he get a chance to make her love him now? This is a great beginning to a fantastic series. It is very easy to read and can easily be read in one sitting.
