Alright. So, everyone who knows me, also knows that I have a thing for zombies (The Walking Dead FTW!), so when Rachel Higginson approached me and asked if I would like to read and review this new season of her novella series, of course I said yes!

You read right: seasons. Love and Decay is actually a novella series with different seasons - it's more like a TV series - short episodes but very visual and action-packed that leave you wanting more. The previous seasons where told out of someone else's POV and a few years back. In Revolution we're 9 years in the future and follow Page Parker, our main character, during the zombie apocalypse.

"She was hope when there was nothing but despair."

I have to say that at first I was a little confused. I haven't read any of the previous seasons, so I didn't know about all the people, which wasn't very ideal. However, and since this is a new POV, it's not that bad and I slowly got to meet and differ all the characters.

Page is quite likeable but I felt like I didn't know a lot about her - there's apparently a background to her which I would've known about if I read the previous seasons and even though it's not a necessity, it still would've been nice. Miller Allen is - besides Santi and maybe Luke too? - one of Page's love interests and definitely the more interesting one. The version I received contained Miller's POV of episode 1 and I'm extremely happy about this! It gave me a better insight and made me get to know him a little more ... and well, I guess I like this guy? He definitely has some issues and up to this point I don't exactly know what's wrong with him ... but I'm curious to find out!

"I'd follow you to the gates of hell if you asked."

Either way, I'm excited for the next episode - which will be released next friday - and hope that the second one will answer some of my questions. It's a short and exciting read that kept me entertained the whole time, so if you like zombies you should definitely check this out!

I finished reading REVOLUTION - Episode One by Rachel Higginson last night. I. Freaking. Loved. It! To start, I loved reading Page's POV. She made me laugh out loud so many times (the lady parts discussion had me laughing my face off). I kept saying things out loud like, "Ahh, that's so SMART!" And "Oh my gosh! Rachel! Your mind is crazy-awesome!" (Like she was in the room with me or something, which, of course, she wasn't.) But then I came to Miller's POV. Things changed for me. I forgot Rachel wrote it. I forgot I was reading. I was riveted by the story.

There are so many gorgeous sentences in this book. This one made me have writer jealousy: "The darkness in me stretched its wings and curled its talons hungrily." Brilliant. It's lyrical. I cannot wait for Episode Two!! Bravo, Rachel!

I was immune to this infection, and this immunity provided a rare and valuable resource. My blood offered a new meaning for the future of the world that I had yet to completely comprehend. It was why the scientists spent so many hours studying my blog and I spent equally as many hours giving it to them. It was why our journey to Bogota had been so important. It was why my family had risked and lost so much to get here.
We had a mission. We had a purpose in life.
And yet recently….it wasn’t enough for me.

**

Several years have passed since we last left off with the Parkers. Page is now 18 and trying to find her place in this desolate, dying world. Yes, zombies still exist. In her attempts to strike out on her own she will be faced with many road blocks. Road blocks otherwise known as her brothers. This will be a lot her harder than she thought.

There is no possible way you can understand the depths of my love for this series. I absolutely adored these first 3 seasons under Reagan's POV, and now that I have been in Page's shoes...I know I will love her just as much. She is a lot like Reagan, but there are definitely some differences. Differences that will start making their presence known in the books to come.

Another bonus was the extra chapters in Miller's POV. I wasn't too sure of him towards the end of the last season, but now that I heard what he had to say about the past, I understand him more. It makes sense. And now I am excited for what is to come with him and Page. It won't be an easy road for him to find himself and the self-acceptance he is desperately wanting.

Also, I will note that this book could actually be read without having to read the first 3 seasons. But seriously, who would want to miss out on all the action? All the romance? All the death and destruction? I wouldn’t. So do yourself a favor and read it if you haven’t yet.

Do I already need this series in my life? Does a zombie crave flesh? Absolutely. There are only a couple series and authors I will drop anything (ANYTHING) for. And this is pretty much the first one that comes to mind if ever asked. It is my addiction. My craving. So yes, like a zombie craves flesh….I crave Higginson’s brilliant mind and imagination with this series. 5 Let’s Get This Season Started, Bring It On Stars!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for a honest review over on my blog (Pretty Little Book Blog)

Ohhh the Parkers! How I've missed you so! Everything we love about our favorite zombie fighting family is front and center in the new season. The sibling squabbles, the fact that the men don't want to face the fact that Page is not a little girl anymore and Reagan and Haley's girl power, take no prisoners awesomeness (<3 those 2 hardcore!) We
really have taken a journey with these characters and have seen them evolve and grow and yes make some mistakes over all the episodes of this series but I am loving where we are at right now. This was my first foray into serials when I started with Season 1 and now it's one of my can't miss parts of the week. Love and Decay day is put into the calendar on my phone and notifications are set (not that I'd need a reminder but it gives me a little zip when that notification pops up 24 hours before each release!)

I have highlighted so many quotes from this series and Yep, this episode is no different! One of my favorites that made me stop and think was " " " And the only other interactions I had were with Zombies. It was hard to judge what I was supposed to look like from their emaciated, decaying skeletons." And I was like, hmm a positive aspect from the zombie take over! I guess because I had finished Perfectly Imperfect by Harper Sloan right before I started this one that body image issues were still on my mind but I was like if you had no media telling you what you should look like would that effect how people saw themselves and would they feel more or less comfortable with how they look? That's one of the things I love about Rachel's writing (making you stop and think and the fact that all the girls in this series are positive role models, they are not perfect and sometimes have self doubt but they rock their personalities!)

Okay, now that we took a little off topic, let's get to the good stuff! This episode had some nail-biting edge of your seat moments! Some aww moments and yes, a little romantic tension! (It wouldn't be Love and Decay without some romantic tension am I right?) Ohh and some gory zombie goodness! It was a jam packed episode that's for sure. You know with some serials the first episode just kind of introduces you to where you are picking the story up at and some basic info -- nothing too intense. this episode has so much going on and it's so intense that it makes me think this is gonna be a season that challenges everything we know and blows our mind.

Also if you buy the special edition you
get Miller's Creed! Which is basically this episode from his POV which i mean is a no brainer because who doesn't want to know what is going on in Miller's head! He's so controlled and keeps his emotions bottled down that you wonder what is he thinking and what would it take to shake him up a bit ;) but an added incentive to getting Miller's Creed is you get to see exactly how events of the past still affect him and more insights into his personality. I love when we get lots of information on a character it helps create the picture I have of them and it makes the world that Rachel has built during this whole series much more realistic and full. She truly leaves nothing out so if there is something that you want to know just trust she will get to it! It may not happen as quick as you want but she is a master of timing, information is revealed at just the right time.

Now that I've wrote a short essay on how Amazeballs this new season is gonna be I'll leave you with just one thing. . . Welcome to your new obsession!

Not much happened in this book. You find the group in the research station where the previous books finished and some time has passed. Now the first person is Paige who's all grown up and is apparently completely naive about sexual attraction and the opposite sex even though she lives with her older brothers, their partners, and her nieces and nephews. It does touch on the subject of beauty post-zombie apocalypse, which was interesting and very brief. Miller's point of view in the second half of the book demonstrates an example of men that women are terrified of meeting on a daily basis and how well he's doing at covering it up.

Great beginning to a new adventure. I love the way Page is determined to be as strong as her brothers and kind of like her egotistical manners. I cannot wait to see how this season plays out.
The only negative is how naïve she is. A little too naïve for having grown up where and when she did and with the people around her.
Still, this is going to be amazing. I already love Miller.

This was a very solid start to the newest addition to the Love and Decay series. If you enjoyed the last few seasons of this apocalyptic world, then you will definitely enjoy the new spin.
I was originally skeptical of how interesting "Revolution" could be, despite being in Page Parker's perspective. It seemed to me that everything that could've happened to the characters already did, and there would be very few surprises or original plotlines. While I feel as though my concerns were partly substantiated, I do feel like there is still some room for plot and character development that I didn't originally expect.
I am a sucker for love triangles (and this may possibly even be a love square), and I'm interested to see how that evolves as the series continues. Also, will the Parkers finally be able to defeat The Colony, or will they live forever in fear?
I would not say I'm completely in love with the series yet, but I can see the potential for it to keep me absolutely riveted. Definitely give this episode a chance if you enjoy death, dystopian societies, and some intense sexual tension.

This is the first episode in the new Love & Decay series, now called Revolution for Page’s story! I have been so excited for the start of this! It is now 9 years later since Season 3 ended, and Page is 18!

Of course it wouldn’t be Love & Decay without some action! I loved watching Page in the battle and seeing the woman she’s become! Miller has officially confused me, he’s definitely not the same as he was 9 years ago…very curious to see the direction he ends up going!

“What are you laughing about?”
She let out a long sigh and draped her wet, blood-soaked arm around my shoulders.
“There’s so much you have yet to learn, Page Parker. I don’t even know where to begin.”

I was definitely feeling some sadness at times. I love how protective her brothers have been of her and I understand why they have been. Page has grown up and decides something they aren’t happy about! Very curious to see how it all pans out!

He nodded once. “But you’d better be really goddamn convincing.”
I threw my arms around his neck. I couldn’t make out his face in the darkened room, but I didn’t need to. He was my brother. I could practically read his mind. He squeezed me in an affectionate hug.
“Cuss jar,” I laughed softly.

This is definitely one of my all time favorite series! This was a great start to the season. We got to see how everyone has grown up. We get to see the family plus some new additions since we left them. I definitely missed being in Reagan’s head, but I do believe I’m going to love Page!!
I’m so very excited to see where this season takes us!!

**The first 3 Seasons are from Reagan’s POV which I highly recommend reading so you can fall in love with this family the way I did!**

First, can we just do a little happy dance and enjoy that the new season is starting up???
Yup I have jazz hands going right now.
Ok..tuck it down.

New season takes us right back to Bogota, Colombia with all of those wonderful characters that we have been missing, but years have passed and now we have Page Parker to tell her story. She has been raised by some true heroes in my mind(Reagan, Tyler, and Haley) and her overprotective brothers and turned into one heck of a zombie fighting machine with an innocence about her after so much shelter from them. This episode sets us up for what I think will be the start of her journey back to the US. She I ready to move out of the shadows of her brothers and make he life her own, but this family is close. You don't survive the zombie apocalypse by not working together and taking care of your own. Even Miller Allen is ready to protect her at any cost.

Speaking of Miller..if you grab the special edition episode one you will get the whole episode in his POV. Oh my heart kinda hurt after going inside his head and seeing the fear of the what ifs that float around in there.

This was a wonderful start to the new season and can not wait to see what happens as we add in what I think will be a love triangle once we get back on American soil. Here is to the Revolution my friends!

I really enjoyed being back with the Parkers. Rachel did a great job providing enough back story for anyone who has never read the L&D series but for those of us who have shouldn't be bothered by the recap. Being in Page's head was interesting and provided a new perspective on the whole story. I enjoyed figuring out what changed her from sweet Page to badass Page. The action was non-stop and I'm always amazed at Rachel's ability to perfectly describe a zombie fight scene. I don't want to turn away but I'm so grossed out, she keeps my eyes glued to the page. I will say the immediate love triangle(s) seemed a little unnecessary but didn't hinder the story. It wouldn't be a Rachel story without romantic drama!

I didn't enjoy Miller's bonus chapter but that's personal preference. I've never been a huge fan of his character and don't trust him. The chapters only reinforced my previous opinion. I'm hoping he grows on me through the story. I was a big fan of Kane, and I'd like to like Miller!

I was provided an advanced copy for an honest review.

Oh how I've missed the Parker family! I wasn't sure if I could ever get over Vaughn but seeing Page all grown up & a total bad-ass kinda makes up for it! I mean those boys raised a girl right, even though they'll always see her as a little girl & not want to acknowledge that's she's turning into a grown woman with hormones! Look out boys! It's also nice to have another female take the lead since Haley & Reagan are busy making babies.
And then to top it off we get to see the inner turmoil of Miller & his true feelings for Page now that they're older. I still hold onto hope that Miller won't turn into a shadow of his monster father.
Of course there has to be a wrench thrown into their cushy lifestyle with the scientists! I'm curious to see if Page will be able to talk her family into leaving knowing all the risks associated.
I'm DYING to read the next part of this series, I'm so addicted!

Love and Decay: Revolution flashed forward several years into the future, with the main character now being Page, who was the adorable little Parker sister in the original Love and Decay novella series. I was really psyched when I first learned what this new season would entail because I was feeling pretty burnt out on the original storyline and I really wanted a love triangle between Luke, Miller, and Page. Well, after reading this first episode, I'm very convinced that is exactly what we will get this season...
But, I really struggled to get into this episode. Really struggled. It took me two days to read a novella, for Pete's sake. It still felt like the same thing... And I already feel a bit of frustration at Page and Miller's stubborness. With that being said, I'm pretty sure my Throne of Glass series hangover is the #1 cause of this 3-star rating... I can't help it! It is what it is...

Ahhhhhh, welcome home!!! All is right in my world again.

When Rachel decided to continue her novella series I was thrilled - so reading this 1st episode was like coming home for me. Any reader can pick this new continuation up without reading the previous 3 season of L&D because Rachel does an expert job of providing enough back-story to understand what is/has been. With that being said, I will always recommend that everyone read the series from the start because, heck - who wants to miss the Parker brothers in all their glory?!?!?! But, I digress...

Being back inside this world was perfection and I loved seeing Page Parker's evolution into a strong female lead. There is action, love drama, and many demonstrations of machismo! Now I just have to survive until December 16th or so until the next episode is released! I cannot wait to see what Rachel has in the works for us!

Finally it's here, with new voices

From the perspective of a grown up Page and grown up Miller we get a new story almost, with a new heroine. I like this new direction. I do think Page is a bit naive about men, considering her age. And the fact she has married brothers, all living in the station together. I realize how protective they all were to her but still...

Miller's voice is scary, making us think of Kane. Please don't think I am going to be all sympathetic and understanding if he follows and restrains page. It is called stalking and kidnapping, not love.

Rachel is a good author and this series my favorite zombie romance series. So glad it's back with new voices. Do Reagan and Haley not kill zombies anymore? We will find out. Especially if Page gets her way.

This serial is set when one of the characters little Page from the earlier Love and Decay series has all grown up. This first episode was so much fun to read, it still has its humor, lots of romantic tension - gotta love that, a few nail biting moments where i was like omg and just the awesome storytelling that i have come to know and love from Rachel Higginson. What i love about this serial is how the story seems so simple - to survive but can also be so complex when romance, family and other people are involved. But then Rachel adds on many layers and other side stories for the characters which makes you know and love them even more and, like right now as i am typing this eagerly awaiting episode 2 of this series.

Once again Rachel did not disappoint. The zombies are gross and creepy and scary! The excitement is there!! And our little girl Page is all grown up and is BADDA**! I've waited (not so) patiently for this new season to start and I am so excited to see where this story goes! Once again I'm completely hooked and in love with Love and Decay! Although this season can be a starting point I wouldn't recommend it only because the first 3 seasons were amazing! The Parker family and crew are worth taking the time to get to know!

Holy crap the Parkers are back...
Grown Page is nothing I expected and everything I love. Grown Miller is such a surprise, but I'm really interested to see where this journey takes his relationship with Page.
And SANTI?? Never saw that coming.
I can't believe they are contemplating going back. ALL of them? And now that guns are a thing of the past, I know this journey will be horrible and heartbreaking for them. Especially those little kids. Idk what to expect at this point, Rachel always shocks us. Revolution is going to incredible, I can't wait for episode 2...

It's great to be back in this life of love and decay. I was scared to start this season since it is many years later and in Page's voice. I loved the first three seasons and I loved, LOVE, Reagan's story and being in her head and world, and now it's the little sister that everyone protected all grown up. But this first episode is a success and the 2 weeks between episodes is going to be filled with anticipation and countdown. I can't wait for more.

It was hard for me to let go of Reagan being the narrator but it wasn't hard at all to fall right back in love with this series. Having the previous main characters all still a part of the books, is very important to me, so I appreciate that. And I am loving getting to know the grown up versions of Paige, Harrison and King, especially Miller. All in All, I'm hooked already. I'm okay if this becomes a never ending series about the Parker family. I absolutely love it!

You have no idea how excited I was to see that my favorite all time series did not end but had another follow up series. I never can get enough of Rachel's writing. I love being able to hear about page's point of view since all the love and decay books were when she was really little. I'm so glad to see how the story of Page, Miller and Luke plays out. With amazing characters, impeccable writing and a boss story line you will love this as much as I do, guaranteed.
