Alexandra "Alex" Miller and her best friends are more like sisters. They live by the code that a good girlfriend will stick by you and be honest with you not matter what. They've been friends over twenty years and have seen each other through marriage, divorce, broken engagement, death and other minor crises. But it's the secrets they've failed to trust each other with. Each of them is holding on to a secret they believe could destroy not only their reputation, but their friendship as well. Alex and her best friends, Chloe, Taylor, Kendell and Dionne all long for one thing, a happy ending. As they've gotten older, they've discovered, not everyone gets the fairytale happy ending they want, but the reality life has orchestrated for them.

Not at all impressed with this book. Was a little too all over the place for me. Still trying to figure out what they were all leading up to to be just dropped in the end. I guess this will be a series. So much build up but left like what did I just read because I'm confused.

Alex is sitting on a few secrets all tied to one man, her first love. If her best friends opened her box of secrets, they'd be surprised.
Alex and her best friends, long for the fairytale complete with a happy ending. Unfortunately, the road to a happy ending is paved with grenades.
A secret is only a secret if no one knows about it. But what do you do when the person who shares your secret wants to tell it?

This is a great prequel! The five main characters all introduce themselves in individual chapters, so there is background for the next book, but they also admit they all have secrets.
The teasers given for the secrets are making me want to rip open the next book so I can find out what on Earth they are hiding from each other!
Had I been forwarned this book is a cliffhanger, had no end and you needed to purchase the next one to get another no ended book, I would've run like hell to choose something, anything else, but this. There are too many characters with too much backstory to remember, all included just to set the stage for more books. There are also too many typos to be forgiven in a mediocre cliffhanger book. Tracy Reed, be for real and honest . Write a book good enough to stand alone without chicanery to get your next book sold.
This was a great little teaser. This opener let you meet each one of the girlfriends and learn a little about each one of them. Each introduction left you wanting more and wanting to know about their secrets and their friendships. I look forward to reading more about Alex, Kendall, Chloe ,Taylor and Dionne.
To be honest I was excited to read this after reading the description but I am disappointed. The way it was written I think it could have been better because it seemed all over the place and sometimes it was hard to remember exactly who was who and what happened. It's short which isn't a bad thing but the ending just cuts off at a random spot.
I didn’t realize this was a prequel until right now. It helps to know that information because I wasn’t impressed with the way this book went. I thought it was leading somewhere, but with my kindle saying “10 mins left in book,” it just…ended. I may give the other books a chance to see if there’s redemption from this because I was interested, but I just didn’t get the payoff with this.
This was so confusing to try and piece together. Five friends and only two of them have actual likeable characteristics. I feel like five almost completely different stories in one book is way too much. I also couldn't get past the bad writing. Definitely won't be reading anymore.
I liked the introduction of before book ¹. I didn't know there was one before this. Overall good. Good author too. Will purchase the other books Ms. Reed has written.
A good read for people who are into the series recommended highly a good read but quick shaping up to be a enjoyable series must read the next one of the series
Too much of narrator instead of painting a picture of the story and drawing you into the scene emotionally. I got more of this is me, this is who I am, this is what I did. The next book may draw you more in, but I’m not invested enough to find out her big secret.
This book was okay it dealt with six friends and the secrets they all had. It was a very short book and there is a sequel to this book however, I don't believe I will be reading the sequel. It was okay.
This is a summary, to promote her books. I was quite disappointed. If it would have been the first book, I could then decide, if I wanted to read more or not.
Each chapter is about one person with an ignorant ending. I was extremely disappointed and will never read another from this author. I hate to be so rough, but there it is
The story is an introduction to four friends and the secret or secrets they are keeping from each other. It gives a background to them and the beginning of their friendship. Each of them have a great sense of humor, which I liked. Each woman is someone you might be able to relate to, however the author does not give enough details about her "secrets" in the first novel. Again this is one of those short novels that leads to a series of other books.
Each woman had a great sense of humor. Alex referred to a blind date as a "Black Smurf" which I thought was quite funny. Even the serious character, Dionne, had a moment during her section. I enjoyed each personality of each woman. I just wish it was longer and we (the readers) were given more about what they were keeping from each other beyond their introduction.
There are a few grammatical errors. Very small. Such as a "your" should have been a "you're", few commas missing here and there. However nothing that took away from the story or the development of the characters.
This was a really good prequel. It sets the stage well and prepares you for what’s coming in the future. The way it is written, we get an introduction to everyone and a whole lot of questions. I can’t wait to read the actual books and answer some of those questions. So far, I like the way it is being laid out, though. I will definitely be tuning in to see what is coming.
