Mr. Manuel, his wife, daughter, son-in-law (and three granddaughters) are resident members of an ecumenical religious community on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. I picked this book on the recommendation of my mother-in-law. It had an interesting main character who was a monk. The story at times was predictable. It would be a good light read for the beach. I was disappointed because it was fairly easy to see how the book would resolve.
