There was nothing to this novella. The storyline was weak and lacked explanation. I don't know if that is just how this author writes, but I know I won't be reading any more of her books.

Wolf Moon is the first book of the Hot Moon Rising series, a sexy paranormal romance that promises to grab you from the very beginning. There are a lot of novels out there that have the big bad wolf turned Mr. Right as the hero. Nevertheless, Desiree Holt strays away from the typical shifter stories to bring us a sexy rebel kick ass wolf shifter female, Alexa Morgan. Alexa is a wolf shifter that fell in love with a human. The fact that her pack was against marrying a human wasn’t bad enough, the last straw was that he turned out to be the biggest jerk. He deserted her when he figured out her little secret, leaving her at the mercy of the alpha, who wanted her to marry a cruel wolf in order to make her move on. Needless to say, our girl escaped.
I have to say I am very angry at the alpha. How come there can be such inconsiderate old-believes people. Shifters are half human so what is wrong with mating a human. By being against that they are denying a part of themselves. In my opinion, Alexa is a very brave woman. She defied her alpha and started a new on her own. A very scary thing to do for a wolf since they are used to be in packs. I have to admit, it was a little predictable that she would find her new love at the city she move into. Not that I am complaining at the hot policeman, Jesse. I love his personality. He is a hard worker, strong morale, caring and a total charmer. Also, his intimate scenes with Alexa were pretty steaming. I swear they had me blushing but, in some way, they made me feel there was a stronger connection between them outside of the bedroom.
I admire Alexa a lot. Even when she was scared about what Jesse would think if he found out about her shifter nature, she put herself in danger almost every night when she turned into a wolf to watch over him on his rounds through town to make sure the gangs were not causing trouble. She saved him a lot of times, even though a pretty dangerous hit for him. By this point, I was wishing with all my heart he would tell her straight to her face: “I don’t care if you are part wolf, tiger, elephant or whatever. I love you Alexa Morgan”. I won’t tell you if he did it or not. That would be a huge spoiler. Nevertheless, I must admit he acted in both, a predictable and unpredictable nature. Personally, I think the ending lacked a little something and I kind of feel he lost a couple of points at the very end.
I recommend this novel to any paranormal romance lover that have a thing for strong and devoted females and sexy policeman that end up protected even when they are used to do the protecting.

Alexa Martin had been burn in the past when it came to relationships with humans. She knew what it was like to have a pack that was strongly against the idea of dating humans and the pain of being rejected for being a shapeshifter.
Jesse Farrell was this human cop that lived next door. Alexa was falling for him hard. She feared of reliving her past. She did no want to feel the rejection that was felt when a lover rejected who you really were.
Jessie’s job was dangerous and Alexa longed to keep him safe she had to do so without revealing her true nature. How will Jessie take the news when he really finds out that his saving wolf is really his dream girl Alexa.
In this book you will see love, hot steamy sex, passion, hurt, rejection, and danger. If you are like me you will fall in love with the story from beginning to end

Honestly I like and love sex in my books but I want story w/some sex not sex w/story.
Deep sigh,this was like O N E L O N G sex scene w/the occasional "story" break and what story there was,was thin at best.... This maybe could have been good I guess is there had been some story but seriously it felt like nothing but one long sex scene, w/just enough kink here to kinda sorta help the redundancy of it all,yeah sure some of the scenes w/Jesse and the things he let Alexa do to have m had me sooo wishing I had a sexy man of my own at the moment to play w/ but otherwise ,well otherwise ,I was bored..... Especially w/the sex scenes they lacked depth and creativity and imagination, all the dripping of juices and constant use of tacky names were soo unneeded ,less is more, I mean except when he was taking her anally ,I didn't need where he was putting his hands,mouth,fingers,vibrator or cock named constantly ( felt constant because sex was almost ALL there was) ,by the time it was near the end I was skipping,soo very very BORED.... And the ending ? She brings in a pack of other shifters to help save Jesses sorry ass and gets shot protecting him and then next morning when he finds out her rejects her w/out much as a thank you or upset that the woman he supposedly cared for and like to. scream MINE!! At sure sex could have been killed for him rejects her and just crawls into her bed a week later w/out ever apologizing And just starts sexing her,ordering to constantly squeeze he nipples and later she gushing how thrilled she is he is willing to accept her,and they roll over and have sex again... Wow,how big of him... Eeeeewwww..

When moves to Florida, she falls for her hot neighbour, another human. She knows she's leaving herself vulnerable and possibility of having her heart broken but his her mate.
Jesse Farrell is part of the gang task force and knows he has a very dangerous job. Jesse knows he shouldn't be in any kind of relationship but he can't seem to stay away from Alexa.
Jesse has been helped on a few occasions now by a wandering wolf. Except he finds out it's not just a wandering wolf but Alexa. He makes a rash decision and takes off. He leaves Alexa's heartbroken. Will he come around before it's too.
This was a very enjoyable story. Had a interesting storyline and the characters were likable. It was quiet refreshing having the dynamics changed, the woman is the shifter and heroine but the story still had a strong, possessive and capable male. I have a two issues: firstly, I think the story felt a little weak in places and secondly, there could have been a little less sex and more sexual tension, or build up. But overall, it was still a really enjoyable story!

Promising start to series! Can’t wait for more!

The more things heat up between them the more Alexa feels the need to protect Jesse while on his job trying to keep peace between the local gangs. This need to protect drives her to reach out to the local wolves for help, to her surprise they turn out to be shifters and offer help if she agrees to help them find a new home where they can live in peace in both their forms. With the gangs fixing to rumble the help comes in the nick of time, unfortunately, Alexa is wounded saving Jesse’s life, and he learns her secret. Wow! Great story and characters! Wow Desiree certainly knows how to get me hot under the collar. I was given an ARC of Wolf Moon for an honest review and honestly I loved it. It's been a while since I've sat and read a paranormal romance in one sitting, the genre has become so diluted that I tend to lose interest, but I was so caught up in this story I could not put it down.
The love scene are naturally placed and not there just to bulk the story out, and whilst passionate they are not gratuitous.
The two main characters are believable and the emotions in certain scenes struck an emotional cord and at one point had me in tears. I can't wait to read the next book which follows.
I recondite do this book to those who enjoy praranoamal romance, shiver romance and even those who are tipping their toes into the genre for the first time. This is an excellent read.

She has set up a new life for herself but find herself falling in love with another human - her neighbour Jesse, who is a cop. Her inner wolf is treating Jesse like her mate, yet she is scared that once he finds out she really is he will leave her or worse.

This is an incredibly steamy and erotic story.
Alexa swore to avoid love entanglements after the man she was seeing, found out she was a wolf shifter and rejected her. But when she meets Jessie the hot gang task force cop, she just can't stay away from him, their intense mutual attraction is scorching and will leave you in need of a cold shower.
Will Jessie be able to accept what Alexa is or will he shatter her heart ?
The storyline is good but be aware, it does seem to be almost secondary to the sex which is incredibly erotic and a little kinky tho you certainly won't hear me complaining ;-)

Wow, what a way to kick off a new series! Apparently this is one of those Decadent worlds where any author can write in it!
Wolf Moon is a great start. Alexa is on her own, hiding out after a human found out she was a shifter. She's alone, no clan and yet there's a clan living in the orchard in town. Of course, the sexy cop next door creates a decision for Alexa. Trust another human or not? This is a sexy shifter romance that is more on the romance and less on the shifting! Even if you're not a paranormal fan, you're going to enjoy this series!

I got this in exchange for an honest review,this is the first time I read for this author and I was happy that I did I love shifters a lot and this one had my favourite kind of shifters which is wolves I loved the main characters Alexa and Jesse, they were so wonderful together I liked how she was so human as in vulnerable insecure in love hurt unsure was great to see her strong and weak side and his as well I hope to see more from this great new series

Alexa is a wolf shifter. She moves to Florida with a broken heart. Her attention is drawn by her next door neighbor Jesse. She wants him but keeps denying it because she doesn't want to be hurt again.One night he comes over and she realizes he wants her too. They start an affair but both have way too many feelings for it to stay that way.These two have an off the charts chemistry. This is a scorching hot story and also a sweet love story. I definitely recommend this book.

An ARC was given to me for an honest review. It looks like she'll never learn. She obsessing about the officer next door. He has been obsessing about her it seems also. But they can never really be together because of what she is. Or maybe it doesn't have to be that way. This is a hot,entertaining, exciting read that will keep you interested till the end. Enjoy I did.

I hate leaving bad feedback. So I've left it for a couple of days and well here goes. This book just didn't do it for me. At first I left the book and came back to it hoping it would get better. Sadly it Didn't. I found myself skipping huge chucks of it. This book could of been great. Lots of sex scenes but a bit to much and the first sex scene was in realistic. I'll leave it at that.

I really enjoyed read this book. It's was entertaining,hot, and erotic the chemistry between Alexa and Jesse was scorching hot. It's will definitely hold your attention all the way to the end.
