An amazing adventure packed, romance fild, mystery/ sci-fi novel that you will not want to miss.
Dina is a twin who doesn't see her brother very often, but she "talks" to him almost every day. So when she loses contact with him for 3 days she goes on a mission to find out what happened. That one mission leads to a adventure filled with a new job, a new relationship, and a way to save the world.
Liam is an alien from another world. So when a human is able to see him and dreams keeps leading him to her he is beyond intrigued. When he finally decides to do everything in his power to help her Liam had no clue of what he was getting into. And what he was able to gain in the end.
This was an amazing read that you will not want to pass up. I am usually not a big fan of alien or futuristic romances but this book is amazing. It is part of a series but it is able to be read as a standalone. The whole mystery isn't solved, which is why I want to read the other books. But the romance comes to its conclusion in this book.
I will give you a quick warning. This book may make you cry because of all the intense scenes, but it is so worth it because it is able to tap into the many weak spots that all of human kind has. The desire to want the best out of their parents.
This is one sci-fi romance you definitely should not pass up.

I got this book on recommendation from Amazon. I had never heard of this author so I didn't really have any expectations going in. I found the plot entertaining and interesting. I've always enjoyed books with psychics because there are so many possibilities and scenarios to play with.
This story had a nice blend of paranormal and sci-fi going on.
The reason this is three instead of four stars is Dina, one of the MC's. I could not warm to her. It felt like she wanted everything done her way even though she was the least experienced in psychic investigations. She got way too angry when others showed concern for her and she just came across as childish to me at times.
I liked the other characters in MIND and the overall plot which will continue in the series so I plan to read the others to see where it goes.
Sorry to be vague about the story but I dont want to give away any spoilers for future readers.

I gotta say this book is weird as hell for me but I liked it. It was intriguing wanting to know what the hell was happening specially reading about unrelated incidents then finding out they were all related. the "plot twist" about the MC's real race was interesting and then at the end the founding of MIND (low key SHIELD) *wink* *wink*

Well-written science fiction novel. I didn't enjoy it as much as other reviewers did, probably because I didn't appreciate the personality of Dina. I felt that the foul language was overused and unnecessary. I also got confused over who had which powers and how they were used singly or in concert with others. Finally, I didn't really anticipate the "romance" would take such a big part of the story, and I didn't really buy it. Still, interesting concept, I do enjoy reading editorially error-free books.

This was recommended to me by a friend and I HATE reading recommendations; I'm so effing picky about what I read and what I like. The genre doesn't seem to matter but there are certain writing styles I just don't seem to care for. So, I was very pleased with myself when not only did I manage to get through it--but I liked it! A LOT! /phew Nothing worse then going to your friend and saying after they asked how you liked a book having to explain yet again why you didn't like it. LOL
"MIND" is a fast paced, action-packed, creative sci-fi romance. I, being a lover of Star Trek (okay...obsessive is more like it) love a good sci-fi but sometimes they get too technically specific. This had just enough to be believable, but they still felt...real. The characters.
Dina is a complicated female main and Liam is a hot nerd boy--I LOVE A HOT NERD BOY! The romance was steamy, plenty of action and good camaraderie between the group.
And best thing yet? NO CLIFFHANGER. Some people really hate them; I know I do when I have to wait so long.
All in all it is a very Star Trek meets Men in Black meets Avengers type feel. Intriguing story line kept me engaged. It only took me awhile to read because, ugggh...I had to adult. I hate adulting.
Can't wait to see what Dina, Liam, Duncan and Bates (okay--love Bates really!) have in store in the next installment!! <3

This book was amazing!! I’m so glad it’s part of a series. I’m on book 2 now. It’s not only a book about people with special talents that come together as a team but watching them grow stronger as individuals and as a group. It’s a fast paced exciting story that follows this group as they find a common enemy then come together to save the innocent!! You instantly fall in love with the characters and are excited to follow them in their journey. The visuals are done so well that you can picture everything and everyone with absolute clarity!!! A must read.

This is book four in the Mind Series by Jenn Nixon. This is a science fiction romantic thriller that is fast paced with lots of twists and turns. Well written, page turning and the beginning to a great series. The story line is very detailed and captivating. The characters are strong and interesting. I usually don't like this genre, but I really enjoyed this book. I received an advance copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Solid story with well formed characters in vividly described worlds in a chaotic world filled with mind police, aliens, hidden plans, and a dose of romance.

I liked it although i kept hoping for more backstory on several characters but since this is a series, I shall hope the next book gives me more.

The originality of the story isn't new but the twists this author applies keeps the reader hooked page by page.

Give it a try, you should like it!

Aliens and mystery

I enjoyed this story so much!!! Had the best of my favorite genres wrapped up in one story.

The characters are interesting, complex and fun. Put the characters together with aliens, mystery and danger made this story flow. The plot was well done and kept this reader interested and wanting to see what would happen next. I didn't scroll through pages as there wasn't anything tedious and boring. Constant action until the very end created a storyline that is thoroughly engaging.

I would love to see this as a movie.

I enjoyed reading this book. It is packed with a fair share of adventure, a bit of danger, a few steamy encounters and twin bonding. Humans, Aliens, Hybrids...plenty of good times ahead. Get ready to discover the birth of the Meta-alien Investigation and Neutralization Department (MIND) along with our MCs - Dina, Duncan and Liam. I recommend this book to readers that are looking for an action packed sci-fi experience with smoking sidepieces scattered throughout.

Love & Action

This great science fictional book ticks all my boxes. There is action galore, a intense love story with delicious sex scenes and characters you really route for.
Jenn Nixon has this fantastic introduction to a series that I cannot wait to read book two and three. She has a new fan in me.
The lead character is very likeable, in fact all the characters are. You see their flaws and talents. The backdrop is earthy and painted into the story seamlessly. The pace is like the rhythm of a heart beat, it picks up pace when your pulse does. Five stars from me. Now I am going to buy book two.

I really enjoyed the whole way the Author played the abilities/alien aspect of the story, it made it highly interesting to see what people could do. How the world was handling these people and what else was out there. The more you read, the more the Author explored the world she had built.

It was the kind of book where you took your time and simply enjoyed the story. Now be aware the sex is detailed, there isn’t sex there for sex sake. It adds to the story. It doesn’t happen every chapter either.

Will I read the rest in the series? Yes.

The book was great. Sci-fi isn't my usual genre but I think it's great. When I first read it, the events are going slow. But when I got over that and action started, the investigation, I got hooked with all the mystery and surprises that keeps popping out.

Okay, so sci fi isn’t my usual genre or thing. I mean, I’ve read and enjoyed sci fi in the past, but most of that was YA. This isn’t. But this was pretty cool. And hot. And… well, read on.

The story’s main character, Dina Ranger, has psychic/psionic powers that seem to be off the charts, so she likes to keep below the radar. But when she loses contact with her twin brother, Duncan, she decides she needs to check up on him. And discovers that he’s the head of some new government agency that keeps an eye on people like Dina. Duncan offers her a job and she takes it, thinking maybe she can finally use her strange, supernatural powers for good.

When she first runs into Liam, she thinks he’s a bad guy. A hot baddie, but a bad guy nonetheless. After he saves her life the first time, they discover a mutual attraction, sparks fly, things between them heat up to scorching levels… and then he tells her secrets about her past that blow her mind. She wants to run away – a technique that’s always worked in the past – but she can’t. They need to work together – and with her brother and his fellow agents – in order to stop the real bad guys and save the planet.

At first some of the psi-babble put me off, but I got over it soon after Dina and Liam meet. The heat and tension between these two characters is enough to melt an alien spacecraft down into a puddle of molten metal. Hot with a capital H.

The story is told from several POVs: Dina, Duncan, Liam, and Duncan’s second in command, Bates. Having so many points of view made the juggling a little hard, but Ms. Nixon handled it all pretty deftly. She continued to ratchet up the tension throughout the story until the final showdown, and manages to leave plenty of doors (and windows) open for further stories with these characters.

I’d totally recommend this book to anyone looking for a hot sci fi romance. The science is hot, and the romance between Dina and Liam sizzles right off the page. I look forward to reading more stories from this author.

Dina is worried for her twin brother Duncan when she loses the mind link they share. When goes looking for him she gets roped into joining her twin brother Duncan in a government team to track and monitor other people with psionic abilities.
This puts her in the path of the mysterious Liam and changes her life completely.

I feel like this would be good for fans of Agents of Shield, there's a great mix of world building and character arcs but equally strong on the action packed story.
The pacing was good and while I wasn't a fan of Dina as a character, she was well developed and you can see the reasons behind her actions. I would've liked to have seen more depth in Duncan so I'm hopeful we'll see that in the next book!
The romance was slow to build up but once it gets there it's emotionally intense with a couple of mildly spicy scenes.

Overall a strong Sci fi story without getting overly technical and it works as a standalone even though it's part of a series.

Dina Ranger is a psychic, but not just a “let’s find your dog” sort. She has true powers, can make people do things she wants them to do- essentially she’s bad ass.

When she discovers that her twin brother is suddenly the head of a government agency designed to track psychics like her, she joins forces, hopefully for the good of mankind.

Then, she meets Liam and falls for him like oil on a hot stone. They sizzle.

I don’t want to give away the ending, but let’s just say there is a final showdown between the good psychics and the bad psychics and the tension leading up to the event really makes your heart beat fast. I’d recommend this to anyone who loves sci-fi romance.

WOW! This story was incredible. I enjoyed every minute of it. Mind is definitely the beginning. I cannot wait for more! Dina is a strong woman who has run from herself most of her life. Her twin has created an organization to help security and police type outfits. Dina is unable to reach her brother (twin) so she breaks into his very secure home and there is no looking back. Her dreams are confusing and somewhat scary as she/they try to unravel the meanings behind the dreams. There are a series of events which takes the team on a road to discovery about themselves - that no one expects. Definitely a great sci-fi read!

I must admit, this wasn't a "typical" genre for me. With that being said, I feel as though I have a very good objective opinion on this series. The author did a fanastic job with this series. I gave each book in this series a 5 star rating and plan on elaberating my pleasure and justifications as to why. :)

I will be posting updated, more detailed reviews later this week as I have pneumonia and can't fully concentrate on all the detailed descriptions that I would like to add. I want to give a fresh outlook for readers that are contemplating this series. i would definitely recommend this book along with book along with the other two.

Cool and entertaining. Good light reading. It is not uncliché, but not painfully so. It has enough action and romance to be worth a reading.
