Dinner & A Workout

Rate this book
Have you ever said any of the following?

- "I don't have time to cook."
- "Eating healthy is too expensive."
- "Cooking isn't my thing."

Let me bite all of these complaints in the butt before you bring them up again. Cooking does take time, but not as much as you think. Plus, if you combine it with a workout, then are you really wasting time? Sounds pretty efficient to me!

Eating healthy seems like it can be expensive, but how expensive are the medical bills that result from a poor diet? Probably more expensive. One way or another, you'll end up paying for how you treat your body.

If you don't think cooking is your thing, look at it as a way of empowering yourself to take control of your own health. Being able to take care of yourself is a fantastic thing - not to mention a great quality that potential partners (or existing partners) find extremely attractive.

I know, I've been talking about food a lot lately - but it's so important. If you are working to change the composition of your body, whether that's getting more lean, or putting on more muscle, if you aren't eating correctly then you might as well not be working out at all.

Most people think that preparing healthy meals is time consuming, but the truth is that it is NOT. The hard part is doing something new. Once you try out preparing healthy meals and realize that it isn't that hard at all, you'll kick yourself for not doing it sooner.

Dean’s first yoga class was entirely on accident:

“I was looking for the tailor and stumbled into a Bikram Yoga studio. I had always been interested in yoga but had never taken a yoga class before that day. I asked the yoga instructor if this class would help my athletic performance. [At the time I was a lacrosse player for the University of Wisconsin.] She told me that it would help me tone my muscles and make me much more flexible. That was exactly what I was looking for. Two hours later, drenched in sweat from head to toe, feeling like I had just exited the pool, and utterly exhausted, I had just completed my first yoga class. It was, and probably will remain, the hardest workout that I have ever done. From that point on, I was sold.”

After two months of doing yoga consistently, Dean realized that the benefits of yoga extended far beyond flexibility. “My level of limberness skyrocketed, and so did my endurance, body control, core strength, and balance, just to name a few of the benefits I was experiencing. More than that, it made me even stronger in the weight room.”

Dean first began instructing yoga as the conditioning coach of his lacrosse team in 2011. That success encouraged him to take his knowledge and passion to a larger audience, and in January of 2013, Dean founded Man Flow Yoga in order to bring the physical benefits of yoga to as many people as possible. Since then, Dean has been teaching at gyms, parks, workshops, international retreats, and online. Dean is a certified 200 HR Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) through Yoga Alliance.

Dean is a young man who has found his passion that passion has morphed into his own style of yoga, a yoga focused on men, but not exclusively practiced by men. And over the last few years he has been an Amazon best seller for his first book, a you tube sensation and the founder and creator of Man Flow Yoga. His focus is yoga for fitness and health. But as can be seen by his ever expanding series of videos and books he is always pushing the envelope.

Dean writes in a very engaging style, reading this book was in many ways like having a conversation with a friend about health and wellness. A chat about what they do regularly to get the results that are so evident. And that is what this is. Dean shares the meal's he eats frequently and the workouts he does while prepping them. It is a great combination. I have already tried a number of the meals and workouts and can attest to them being pure awesome.

The sections in the book are:
Message from Dean:
Breakfast
Eggs with Spinach, Brussels Sprouts, and Avocado
Eggs with Sweet Potato Hash

Other Helpful Foods and Cooking Instructions
Other Great Resources

I have read all of Dean's books and have never been disappointed. When this one first came out I was a little hesitant because of the length. Now true it is not a very long ebook but it is packed full of great information. You get 10 awesome recipes, 10 workouts and the basis for great nutrition, health and well being. But it is more than worth the price. This is a great book and a wonderful addition to any yoga, fitness or cookbook library. And as a bonus when you buy the ebook you get a free 10 Day Intro to Man Flow Yoga!

Looking forward to what Dean will come out with next. Give this book a try I am sure it will be worth the investment for you are really investing in yourself.
