This book is listed on Amazon for over $100 and I can only find it elsewhere on used book sites for upwards of $60. I cannot believe that this book is so completely hard to find. I desperately want to read it because it was purportedly written about the Beales of Grey Gardens.
Strictly for diehard fans of Big & Little Edie Beale, even though it just borrows only the bare bones of their real life story. Not a very compelling plot but fun and definitely a curiosity piece that will always have its place in the Grey Gardens legend.
Ugh. I can see why this book was banned from Grey Gardens. I'm glad I borrowed this book from the library, because now I can take it back to the library and never speak of it again. Dreary. I only give it two stars because I managed to suffer through to the end, so there must have been something meekly engaging about this book.
A must read for fans of Grey Gardens. The parallels are uncanny. The differences are as well. This book was very interesting considering the historical and geographical perspective.
