Night Shift: My Adventures As A Convenience Store Clerk

Rate this book
This is my first-hand account of working nights in a convenience store in the mid to late 1980s. Loaded with humorous stories and fun facts of that era, it's definitely worth retelling. I hope it brings a smile and a chuckle to anyone who reads it.

Good but not funny

I was expecting this to be funnier than it was. It was interesting though. There were lots of stories about things and people not related to the convenience store mentioned in the title. There were also too many stories and references to the author's Yamaha motorcycle. Had the title been different, I would've had different expectations before starting to read the book. Not a bad read, good for passing a lazy hour or two, if you're looking for laugh out loud moments though, you may be disappointed. There are LOTS of great 1980s references that will conjure all kinds of memories for anyone who grew up during that decade. That was the biggest highlight for me.
