Children's Book: THE THINGS I'M GRATEFUL FOR (Bedtime Stories for Kids Ages 4-8): Fun Stories About Being Grateful and Fun Activities! (Happy Kid Books Book 3) by Arnie Lightning
We'll be having a Thanksgiving feast this weekend and it's always interesting to learn as we go around the table what others are most grateful for.
Cute colorful children's stories.
This book is about Thanksgiving time and relatives are coming to help celebrate.
Jordan talks others into making the celebration a happy one for everyone.
Another chapter is about Carlo and his breaks his ankle at Thanksgiving time.
He was sad because he'd not be able to play in fall soccer. He just wants to skip the holiday this year til he talks to his cousin Frankie.
Book also includes fun activity sections. Other stories and other works by the author are highlighted at the end.
Fun puzzles and mazes are included and a free ebook gift.

Jordan (son/brother) was so happy Uncle Mike was coming for Thanksgiving.
Dad, Mom, & Renee daughter/sister) thought so to.
Jordan shared the news with Ms. Berry (teacher) & Stephanie (student).
Carlo had get-well cards, balloons, & stuffed animals from his family & friends.
He was still sad recovering from his leg injury from soccer practice.
His cast was of the FC Barcelona soccer team logo.
Mom & Nonna (grandma) would prepare the typical Italian thanksgiving.
Dad & the brothers & sisters would chip in also.
Uncles, Aunts, & Frankie (cousin) would be there also.

Emma was going to the library to meet with Julie (5th grade, tutor).
What was Julie’s advice to Emma?

Blue house (North St.). Coco (puppy) lived with Mr. Stevenson (husband/father), Mrs. Stevenson (wife/mother), Kyle Stevenson (son/brother), Jannie Stevenson (daughter/sister), & Cottonball (cat).
Coco & Cottonball for the most part got along.
1-day a Robo-Bone commercial aired on the TV.
What did Coco think of that?
What happened to Jannie?

Robbie was having trouble waking up.
Dad had to take Mom to the hospital, so Grandma & Grandpa were coming over to sit.
Thanksgiving would be at their house instead.
What good news did all the family receive?

Jenna Nicole (baby sister), Maria (student), Matt (BMF, student), Karina Matt (BFF, student),

I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review, only an honest one.

A very awesome book cover, great hand drawn colored pictures, & proper font & writing style. 5 very well written children’s educational gratitude stories (book). They were all very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. They all could make a great children’s educational gratitude movie, an animated cartoon, a classroom PP presentation, or better yet a mini TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.

There are mazes in the book. This book is also in audio and paperback form. This is a great book of unique grateful stories. They are long enough to be interesting and short enough for the small reader to enjoy. Listening/reading Is the best way to share these stories of joy. I picked a really good one to share.
Tropical Thanksgiving.
Evan had just moved from Michigan to Florida. He was waiting for the leaves to change color and the snow to fall. He was broken hearted to find out that that would not happen. It would still be sunshine on Thanksgiving. His mom and dad were excited to tell him they were going to rent a boat for Thanksgiving. Evan was standing on the deck while other children were jumping into the Gulf of Mexico to swim before dinner. Emma asked him, "Doesn't that sound like
most people's idea of a dream Thanksgiving?". He decided, Yes! ! And to have fun for the rest of the trip.
Decide, Yes!! And enjoy the rest of the stories

Interactive projects and lovely stories😊

The stories are short but all tell a full tale that emphasizes kindness, acceptance, and being grateful for the simpler things in life. Illustrations are limited to the first page of each story. At the conclusion of each there's a suggestion for a project that will reinforce the story's main message. Plus, there are mazes at the end. I really liked the message, the illustrations and the book format. I think almost any child will relate to the children in these stories.

Stories about gratitude run the risk of being goofy and overly earnest. Arnie Lightning successfully avoids those pitfalls and presents several stories that will speak to children and their sensibilities without talking down to them. The stories were short, sweet, and kept both my attention and my kiddo's.

And be grateful too

As I read these stories I was reminded of a line from an animated story years ago. I am gratefully reminded that I always have a lot to be thankful for. Great ideas and activities included for kids. All great ideas including community awareness.

I'm a nearly 30 year old woman who read this book and bawled. It had me think about so many things I might have missed being grateful for and at the same time I related to some events that happened exactly to me when I was younger. Kid or adult, everyone should be reading this book in my opinion ❤️

👏👏

My children love these little books. They thoroughly enjoy each and every story, as if they are all unique and individual without any cause for similarity among them. Even though sometimes, they might seem tedious and repetitive to me as a parent, I do enjoy being able to read short-stories to my children that are clean and respective.

This book is also available in paperback and audio versions. The free gift works. There's also mazes and wonderful stories to keep you entertained. I picked out one to share. I leave out parts of the story for your discovery.
The Best Thanksgiving of All
Robbie was awakened in the middle of the night by his father. He was telling him it was time for his baby sister to be born. Robbie was upset because it was Thanksgiving and they were all suppose to be together. Grandma and Grandpa tried to cheer him up, the next day, but he was having none of it. It was the worst Thanksgiving ever. He did not eat much of his turkey and right before dessert his father came in. His baby sister had been born. His dad sat down and they shared dessert together. Robbie was telling this story to someone. Who do you think it was? You get to listen/read and find out who. Yipee!!
There are other stories in this wonderful book of giving thanks.

Another wonderful book in the Gratitude Series. This is book 2 of 4 for ages 3-10. There are 5 stories and mazes and Just For Fun Activities. I've picked one of the stories to share.
The Thanksgiving Birthday
"Happy Birthday Jeremy and Happy Thanksgiving," his brother Michael said. Usually his birthday is all about him. He didn't get his French toast for breakfast. He gets cereal and potatoes to peal and chop. Then the family arrived. Did anyone mention his birthdsy?
There are four more stories. Happy listening/reading

The author presents five stories featuring child protagonists who are experiencing who lack the feeling of gratitude. Max feels jealous because his cousin has so many more stuffed animals and his favorite looks raggedy, Kate feels unhappy because her parents work two jobs and she feels lonely and less fortunate than her friends. Jeremy thinks his family is neglecting him because this year his birthday falls on Thanksgiving and he feels neglected. Carter and Jackson think their grandparents are being unfair because this year they are visiting other relatives for Christmas, and Nick and Grace panic when they lose their cousin Bridget at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. As events unfold in each tale, the children come to understand the nature and importance of gratitude in their lives.

Each story is preceded by an illustration, but the book is a beginning chapter book consisting of five short stories. I would highly recommend the book as a read-aloud discussion book for elementary grade readers.

What a great incentive parents for having your kids thinking about being thankful!

I enjoyed this ebook very much and am sure that these young kids will too and will be encouraged to count their many blessings as the read this ebook. And with quite a number of activities and at least about seven mazes to try to figure out. For all of these reasons I feel this needs five stars. I received this ebook for free and here's my honest review in return. Great work Arnie! By Angela
