Loved it!
This is a good book! That Damn Chantel hoe is grimy asf....Quan lifestyle is a lot but I can tell he loves Charlie, he need to get it together. I hope Chantel is pregnant by that Tracy dude with his hating ass...I hope Toya and Dre get together also I can just imagine what's about to go down since Quan just caught his bf sexing his sister...

Not bad, but not great either. Diamond Johnson is talented so she's given more benefit of the doubt than others, but there are some extremely 8unlikable characters in this book. Imma withhold judgment..for now.

This book was actually a food read. I loved Charlie and his even though Quan made all that money she still work. Chantell is crazy and the baby probably is not even for Quan. Quan need to let his sister grow up. I'm about to start part 2 to see what happen next.

3.75 ⭐️ Review
It’s not that I didn’t like the story, because the plot itself kept me reading and I wanted to see how everything would play out. My biggest issue was that I genuinely didn’t care for any of the characters, and that made it hard to fully connect to what was happening.
Quan frustrated me the most. He claims he loves Charlie, but says he can’t be with her because he doesn’t have the self-control to stop cheating… then turns right around, gets back with her, and cheats anyway. It just made him come off careless and immature. Charlie wasn’t much better. She talks about how women who constantly forgive men are weak, yet she ends up forgiving Quan after everything. Even if he was drugged, he still went to Chantel’s house with the intention to cheat, so it was hard to feel sympathy in that situation.
Then there’s Monay, who is both Quan’s sister and Charlie’s best friend, secretly messing with Quan’s best friend/manager. On top of that, she’s sneaking around at her mama’s house, knowing her brother could pop up at any moment. The secrecy and risk just felt messy for no real reason.
Dre and Toya’s storyline didn’t land for me either. I really don’t like insta-love in realistic urban stories, and their connection felt rushed. And Toya’s attitude toward Dre? I didn’t understand the hostility at all. It just felt unnecessary.
Chantel was another character I couldn’t stand. Wanting to trap Quan by getting pregnant and going as far as drugging him was wild. And Tracy hating Quan over something as small as not listening to his mixtape, then trying to go after Charlie out of spite, just felt petty and over the top.
Honestly, the only character I truly liked was China. She was the most genuine and innocent presence in the whole story, and every scene involving her felt more real than the rest.
Overall, the drama, mess, and tension kept me engaged, but the lack of likable or relatable characters made it hard to fully invest emotionally. Still a solid read, just not one I connected to the way I hoped I would.

This was a really good read! I definitely enjoyed the storyline. I also really loved the dynamic of Jaquan and Charlie’s relationship. It’s nice to see baby mama’s and baby daddy’s get along...

Fool in Love
At first I had the utmost respect for Charlie because she appeared to be a strongwoman and had her shit together.. .However, she lost all her cool points when she allowed Quan to come over and woo her literally hours after he was with another woman.
It does not matter if the woman drugged him, because he was going to have sex with her regardless.

Wow!
I guess it's true what they say about rain, that when it rains, it really pours, well it's definitely pouring all over Quan right now. When you continuously put this type of behavior out in the universe, you will get it back seven times fold. I really think that's what's going on with Quan right now. I feel bad because he knows what to do and what not to do. It's all about your choices and remembering there are consequences, whether they're good or bad. You have to make the better choice and that's clearly not the issue here, but I'm pretty sure if they work together through this it will make Quan's and Charlie's relationship better and stronger. Now the situation between Quay and Monae, hmmm we will just have to see. Great Read from beginning to end. ReneeG 👍

It’s Good But I’m Annoyed
This book is good but I can’t even lie I’m annoyed. Why Charlie can’t find a man who’s willing to love her without cheating and why she gave in so quick and all he did was give some good head. Nope I’m gonna need more than that frfr. Quay and Monae annoying it’s always the best friend with little sis and the best friend feeling like he don’t wanna hide but been hiding for almost 2 years you ain’t that much of a real man ijs. Hopefully Dre can be good to Toya. But I’m gonna need Chantel and hating Tracy to die cause I don’t understand it.

Wow
This series so far is good even though am just finishing this book it's still good. Quay and Monae got alot of explaining to doooooo. I hope Quan don't do nothing crazy it might regret it for the rest of his life. Chantel she scandalous and desperate just to have someone baby like cmon girl get a grip. Homerun
I believe this is my first time reading anything by this author but I can honestly say that this won't be my last. This book hit all elements and was an extremely enjoyable read. I liked the fact that Quan was a product of a rough environment but still followed his dream of becoming a rap artist. The love he displayed for his sister, mother, and daughter was refreshing however to see the level of respect and love he had for his child's mother was so very special. You can't go wrong getting this book and I can't wait to read the follow up. Don't keep us waiting too long.

This book was really good. I loved everything about it. It gave you a backstage pass into the life of a Big time Rapper. Quan was a rapper who was the true definition of Rags to riches and although he had Chantel is daughter's mother who has been with him since he had nothing once the fame and the money comes so does the groupies and gold diggers. Quran really wants Chantel but sometimes the temptation of the perks of being famous just to strong. I really hope they can withstand all the things that's being thrown at them. I cannot wait for the next installment.
