"Using wit and romance with a master's skill, Kasey Michaels aims for the heart and never misses." -- Nora RobertsTwelve Rollicking Regency Romances from New York Times bestselling author Kasey Michaels!Dear Reader,There's something almost magical about the Regency Era. Those years were unique unto themselves, caught between the excesses of the Georgian Age (filing down their front teeth so they could whistle like the coachies), and the more staid Victorian times (goodness - they actually began putting long cloths over pianos so as to not unduly upset the ladies with the sight of the instrument's "legs.").The Regency served as a bridge between those two very different times, and has always reminded me a bit of America's 1960s. They had Lord Byron, and we had the Beatles. They had Bonaparte, we, sadly had a seemingly endless war of our own. We had Flower Children, they had fops, and dampened muslin. They had Beau Brummell, and we had Twiggy - okay, so that's pushing it.But what we mostly had, they mostly had, was a near decade of change, experimentation in all areas of life, heady highs, horrible lows.And through it all, somehow, the most delicious sense of humor, a great love of the absurd, and of course, the unending pursuit of romance.I've gone on to touch on some of the more dangerous and serious events of the era in my books, but these - my earliest stories - concentrating on the vagaries of Regency society, the silliness, the eccentricities, remain very dear to my heart. They're "rainy day" books, meant to do nothing more than make us smile, sigh, hopefully giggle a time or two... and take a break from today's world for a few hours.Now, please allow my ladies to entertain you!Kasey MichaelsIncludes 12 Full-Length Regency Romance Tenacious Miss TamerlaneThe Playful Lady PenelopeThe Haunted Miss HampshireThe Wagered Miss WinslowThe Belligerent Miss BoyntonThe Lurid Lady LockportThe Rambunctious Lady RoystonThe Mischievous Miss MurphyMoonlight MasqueradeA Difficult DisguiseThe Savage Miss SaxonThe Somerville Farce

Kasey Michaels is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of more than 100 books (she doesn't count them). Kasey has received three coveted Starred Reviews from Publishers Weekly, two for the historical romances, THE SECRETS OF THE HEART and THE BUTLER DID IT, and a third for contemporary romance LOVE TO LOVE YOU BABY (that shows diversity, you see). She is a recipient of the RITA, a Waldenbooks and Bookrak Bestseller award, and many awards from Romantic Times magazine, including a Career Achievement award for her Regency era historical romances. She is an Honor Roll author in Romance Writers of America, Inc. (RWA)

Kasey has appeared on the TODAY show, and was the subject of a Lifetime Cable TV show "A Better Way," in conjunction with Good Housekeeping magazine, a program devoted to women and how they have achieved career success in the midst of motherhood (short version: "with great difficulty").

A highly praised nonfiction book, written as Kathryn Seidick, "...OR YOU CAN LET HIM GO," details the story of Kasey and her family during the time of her eldest son's first kidney transplant.

Kasey has written Regency romances, Regency historicals, category books including novellas and continuities and a few series "launch" books, and single title contemporaries. She has coped with time travel, ghosts, trilogies, the dark side, the very light side, and just about everything in between. Hers is also the twisted mind behind her ongoing Maggie Kelly mystery series starring a former romance writer turned historical mystery writer whose gorgeous hunk of a fictional hero shows up, live and in color, in her Manhattan living room – to melt her knees, to help her solve murders, and to leave the top off her toothpaste. And, says Kasey, she's just getting started!

Series:
* His Chariot Awaits
* Lion On the Prowl
* Crown Family
* London Friends
* Chandlers Request
* The Trehan Brothers
* Maggie Kelly Mystery
* Romney Marsh
* Sunshine Girls

Perfection!

I received this book free from one of the book sites. I do not remember which one! This is my honest and voluntary review.

I absolutely enjoyed reading this wonderful collection of Regency Era Romantic Comedies! I have laughed until tears streamed, giggled until my sides ached, and, yes, I cried. Taking my favorite two genres, Kasey Michaels (Michelle Kasey) has a new fan. Could I pick a favorite? No, every last one pleased me excessively. I have savored each story, enjoying every word. Ms. Michael's tongue in cheek writing has brought me so much enjoyment that I look forward to reading more! The imaginative brain known as Kasey Michaels has uncovered imaginable plots of such insanity that I doubt I can find another author with her sense of humor, style, and panache.

I highly recommend this collection of books to anyone who enjoys Regency Romance and a grand time laughing!

Excellent

These stories are some of the best I have read with this type of story. A couple were below par, but the rest are top of the crop.

This author has a mind of her own when it comes to her plots. They are funny at times,too.

Imagine a granddaughter from America shows up with an Indian protector. A broken hearted man that was an earl that had been whipped and had great damage.

If you like regency romance with lots of laughs, no explicit sex and some wacky secondary characters then these books are perfect for you. I enjoyed them very much. The only reason I did not give a 5-star rating is the fact that the proof reader dropped the ball. It's annoying to regularly find something wrong, i. e. typos, wrong words, extra words that don't belong.

An ambundance of frothinness, a homage to the roots of the regency romance genre (All hail the Grand Georgette!). In these whimsical stories almost every possible traditional tropes are used: there's a marriage of convenience, a cross-dressing heroine, some cases of mistaken identities and of course a bevy of sassy Mary Sues. Love it!

Great Regency stories

An entertaining collection of Regency novels. Although I had already read three of the books in this twelve book collection, I got box set at a great price of $4.95, and absolutely got my money's worth, and more. A delightful set of books.

Adroitly alliterative!

Kasey Michaels, in all her incarnations, weaves an amusing tale.
Her characters are deliciously devious, comically confused, supremely stubborn or just lost in love.

A truly enjoyable collection of zany love stories!

While I will admit that some of these stories were better than others, they were all worth reading. Kasey Michaels has a unique style of writing witty, intelligent characters.

Kasey Michaels called this collection a 'rainy day read' but it's great as a 'shelter in place' read, too - and if you read a book a day, more or less, this collection will keep you smiling and giggling for a couple of weeks.
