When I was in fourth grade, our school was involved in a contest for The Detroit Free Press, the best book report from the school was picked and sent to the newspaper, and they narrowed them down and eventually picked a winner. To make a long story a little bit shorter, I won. I got my picture in the paper and received a check for a whopping $5.00, which I'm sure I ended up spending on candy.
So here's my winning report.
A girl moves into a house that use to be her Uncle's. One day a man tries to take the house. Then she meets a ghost in the mirror. It helps her out. One day she finds a flower that she had at the beginning of school. It looks like it was just picked. She knows it is a gift from a friend.
How did I win? Not a clue. Really, it explains nothing of the book, and the entire report is a whole 5 sentences. They must have had really low expectations.
