A sixteen-year-old championship ice skater becomes mixed up in a controversial homecoming princess contest and falls for an engaging high school disc jockey.
Ice skater Lisa is determined to be an Olympic skater, but she worries that she's missing out on the rest of her life, so when scheming Laurie convinces her to accept a nomination for Homecoming Princess, Lisa accepts. This at first puts her at odds with enigmatic DJ Peter, but soon the pair find sparks flying between them. Laurie tries to create problems between them, but ends up with egg on her face when her homecoming date ditches her to hp Peter and Lisa out of an accidental double date. And Phoebe is missing Griffin who's in NYC trying to start his acting career, but just as she's made the decision to sneak away and see him, he suddenly seems to be backing off
Honestly, not as of its time as I expected. True, apparently it was verboten to go to a dance stag, but also teen drama is timeless. Felt like a tamed down Sweet Valley High. And hey, at least Scholastic didn't make Lisa Chang a blond white girl.
