Cheryl Strayed is a bestselling author of Wild: From Lost to Found. She started writing her book based on her journal while hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. Her story has caught the attention of Oprah Winfrey and has listed it as number one in the Oprah Winfrey Book Club. She was given many awards in Essay Writing. Another bestselling book written by Cheryl Strayed is Torch.

Wild begins with a short Author’s Note that explains how Cheryl Strayed wrote her book and who and what helped her write it.

It is followed by a prologue. In the prologue, she writes how she stood taller than the trees on a steep mountain slope where she just lost her left boot. In her own words: “it had blistered her toes and rubbed her skin raw.” Precise images of her own badly battered life. The voluntary throwing over the edge of the other pair, which she for a moment had clutched in her heart, is actually a resolute decision to let go of it for good. She did not mind going barefoot for a while. She has a new and better fitting pair of boots waiting for her at her next resupply station. The new boots was an image of the new and better life waiting for her in Oregon as she finishes her arduous journey to one of the world’s longest trail into the wilds.

Her action was an honest acceptance of her moiling condition. Voluntarily throwing the right boot over the edge is a symbol of her generous detachment; letting go and a readiness to begin a new chapter in her life.

Inspiring book, it can give you power when you’re down.
I do admire the character’s adventurous spirit and brave heart, especially as a lady.
I would say this book has encouraged me to not be afraid to make a revolution in your life even it may costs all you’ve got! And people should do something they want to do as a spiritual dependence, when there is a hard time.
Another aspect, i think people should control their animal instincts. Sex is easily to happen between strangers in this book.. it’s not a good guidance for the readers.

Exactly as expected!

This outlines each chapter very clearly but briefly enough as to not give away too much detail for those that may not have read the actual book yet. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a quick overview.
