Analytics to Action is great for beginners who are looking to learn more about social media and anyone who considers themselves to be "bad at math." This book taught me that analytics are not about math --- analytics are useful tools that help us tell stories and connect with people.
I read Analytics to Action for an undergraduate social media class taught by Tim Cigelske (the author). It's a quick, yet informative read that changed how I approached social strategy. This book set the foundation for my career in social listening and analytics. Tim is very smart and insightful, and I'm looking forward to what he publishes in the future!
There are a lot of resources out there on social media analytics, but I often find that they are trendy and not very thoughtful - just one off blog posts by content marketers who use a lot of buzzwords w/o explaining its meaning or how social media can help you do your job better. This felt substantive, clear, and direct. If you deal with social media in any capacity in your profession, or just interested in what metrics are actually useful in this new digital landscape, this is a must-read.
