Pudel & Cie. Problems Solved: Case #1: Moroney Baloney

Rate this book
Pudel & Cie., a family business of solving problems for over 300 years, is passed along to the next generation. Now it's time for three siblings to show their worth. The fact they have the power to 'flip' from human to dog can be both a blessing and a curse, and they hope it's also a great way to solve a mystery. Join Antonio and Belvidere, who flip to standard poodles, and their litter mate, Callista, a perky Pomeranian, as they paw through the evidence, and sniff out clues through the twists and turns of "Moroney Boloney." Can they prove they'll solve the problems to end as top dogs?

The narration of Moroney Baloney is cleverly told in the style of film noir, making the story easy to visualize in black and white, just as the old detective stories appeared on the silver screen. A. R. Donenfeld-Vernoux has written an incredible and unique sleuthing novel which deals with issues blackmail, missing persons, homelessness, murder, pedophilia, BDSM, drug addiction and even organized crime. Pudel & Cie. Problems Solved has served up its first case, Moroney Baloney, in a classy fashion, and their additional skill of flipping between being a dog or a human at will is convenient, ingenious, unique and, at times, downright hilarious. This sleuth mystery of dog-human is the first of its kind for me, and the entertainment value alone was immeasurable. I recommend Pudel & Cie. Problems Solved to mature readers aged 15 years and over who are addicted to mystery novels which are not afraid to deal with sensitive issues.
