Aiden is a deer shifter who works as a ranger in Yellowstone Park. Carver is the werewolf who saved him when they were kids—too bad he did it with his teeth. Now Aiden is branded with what shifters call the mate’s mark: a glowing bite that legends claim ties him forever to an annoying werewolf.
Well, fate better watch out, because Aiden has other plans… until Carver plants a kiss on him so sinfully scorching that he can’t see straight for days. Predator and prey will have to work their differences out, because destiny has plans for them… and so does love.
I enjoyed this story. Loved the balance and cohesiveness of predators and prey living and working together. Excellent characters. I would love more stories involving the park. I got this novella free in exchange for an honest review
This was a great twist on the usual idea of the mating mark and what it means. I was amused at the way each of the guys handled it--Carver especially, reminding me of boys who tease the girls they like. Carver's mischievous humor was one of my favorite things about the book and I shook my head at his moments of bad judgment. There are lots of neat touches to the story: how the weredeer lived and worked, the role the wolves had in the park, and the idea of what challenges a deer and a wolf would have with each other (prey and predator). The heat factor was about a medium--some good scenes but not overwhelming the story or getting kinky. Great find from a new-to-me author.
Full short story, no cliffhangers nor are there any skipping around. Unlikely connection between Aiden a were-stag and Carver a were-wolf and all their hurdles they dealt with for a decade to hid their true feelings for one another.
I hate to be the first to review this because overall it's more than a 3 star book, but it's not quite a 4 (too short to be anything more: not enough character development, background, etc)
It's very cute and I recommend it. It's only about 50 pages, so it doesn't take long at all.
Definitely a different take on the fated mates. Both men and of different species....a wolf and a deer. Was a sweet read and I look forward to reading more from this author. I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Received this book for an honest review. I loved this story with them having the history of their childhood and the mark. It made it more official that they were to be together
The worst part of this book is it tries to explain homosexual men's chemistry in a heterosexual female's way, not to mention the not-so-exciting story and compromised logics.
