Observes the lives of nine women mathematicians and their particular contributions in the areas of number theory, calculus, topography, and abstract algebra
This was a ground-breaking book when written and is still a wonderful introduction to women in math, along with accessible, fun math activities. Very influential!
It is a nice summary of prominent female mathematicians such as Sophia Germain Sonya Kovalevky, and Mary Somerville. I liked that author also has included mathematical problems at the end of all section which provide good practices
More research about Mary Somerville brought me to this book, by the same author who wrote Math Equals. This book is written for the middle school/high school level and the Discovery Activities are more difficult. A well-done book, I may return to it in the future.
