Now that’s a BOOK.
Basically the exact thing I was looking for: a boots on the ground story of life in the blitz full of specificity and grievance. I love it. It’ll turn you into a lefty.

Such an interesting read, heard about this from a Lucy Worsley documentary and I’m glad I sought it out. Almost unbelievable stories of ordinary people facing extraordinary circumstances including some very sad and harrowing moments.
