Jesus, the Man Who Loved Women: He Treasures, Esteems, and Delights in You
This stirring book explores Jesus's heart and compassion for every woman -- giving them undeniable value and significance.
Based on Jesus's encounters with women during the time of his ministry, this tender book uncovers how time and again Jesus went against the traditional conventions of his era by treating women with respect and love, showing the world what a vital role they play. Jesus lived in an era where women were considered property and of little value as significant individuals. But by following Jesus's example, readers will see how women should be cherished and uplifted.
Each chapter touches on Jesus's interactions with a specific woman, their conversations, and the gifts he bestows upon her. One tells of the widow who was burying her son, only to have Jesus resurrect him. Another is of the woman who was crippled for eighteen years and how Jesus not only freed her from her physical malady, but freed her spirit as well.
But more than a mere retelling of these encounters, this book is a love story -- a romance between the Creator of the universe come to earth and the women he came to know. Through these women, we see his love and compassion for every woman, and we watch as he lifts us all out of our ordinariness into the sublime intentions he planned for us since the beginning of time.

Getting to the Heart of the Matter
Bruce Marchiano seems to have truly, 'met', Jesus through his portrayal of Him in film and through his ministry. This is evident in his writing and in his ability to 'stream', (if you will), what Jesus might say to the women of today. He represents Jesus as a kind and loving man. Many have been told their whole lives, that 'God is love'. But once we leave childhood and have new experiences, for many, Jesus seems to go from a God who loves you, straight to judge jury and executioner! Reminding the reader that love is not a secondary thought to Jesus...it's His main purpose. This book helps the reader see that Jesus is more than a fellow sitting on a cloud waiting for you to 'mess up' and then dispense punishment in the form of pain and suffering because of that sin. This book looks at the heart of Jesus and helps the reader, 'hear Him', if you will. There are areas in this book where the author writes what he feels Jesus might say directly to the reader. These parts are heartfelt and I don't believe any woman could read these speeches and feel nothing. Perhaps it's the authors portrayal of Jesus that has allowed him to represent Jesus' words spot on. Regardless of what has led him, he has done an outstanding job of touching the reader's heart and mind in this book. Don't pass this one up!

My Moms' Book and Bible Study Group chose to read this book during the 2019-2020 school year. I really enjoyed the author's respect and admiration for how Jesus viewed and treated women. Being an actor who portrayed Jesus in movies, Marchiano tried to imagine a scene and then build upon his message of how Jesus loved women. While some of the women in my group did not care for that tact, I felt like I related a little bit better to some of the stories because of it. I highly recommend this book.

This book has done more to help my faith than the thousand other books I’ve read combined.
I’m a researcher.
I’ve read the commentaries - done the lessons - learned all there is to know about the facts.
But the fact is - I don’t care if Jesus doesn’t care about me and my sisters. But He does.

I gave this book a low rating due to the authors embellishment on what is actually contained in scripture. The entire book is speculation and sort of an attempt to paint Jesus in a certain light. The love letters at the end of most chapters made it sound more like a romance novel and do not reflect anything scriptural in my opinion. While I can appreciate the attempt to emphasize a personal love for us, I felt this went too far.
The author does point out how many of our modern-day perceptions about Mary Magdalene and others are not rooted in facts, but have been embellished by human imagination over time. This is true, and something I am glad to see pointed out. I would not reccoment the book as factual, but more like fiction or a Christian romance novel.
