I was disappointed. I recognize the story of Anne and Joachim is greatly based on Catholic tradition but was disappointed in the Biblical passeges that were glossed over or left out entirely. There was no mention of the annunciation and very little of Elisabeth and Zachariah and the visitation of Mary to Elisabeth while she was carrying John the Baptist. I liked at the very very end when the Roman main character meets a young adult Jesus who tells him he is traveling to learn of other lands, (India, Tibet and Nepal) races, religions, and cultures (before he begins his ministry in Judea). I like to think that is something that young Jesus would have done...
