Lord, I Would Follow Thee

Rate this book
p>The quest of every committed disciple of Christ is to become more like Him—more loving, more pure in heart, more devoted to the work of the kingdom. This most rewarding of tasks may at times seem daunting. What are some practical, day-to-day ways in which we can accomplish it?

Author Brent L. Top addresses that question in this motivating book, which deals primarily with three specific areas in which we can become more Christlike: in our personal lives, in our relationships with others, and through leadership. Included in the discussion are ideas for being a positive example, cleansing the inner vessel, and having uplifting conversation.

Love is an important theme in the book, and the author explains that Christlike love is most often expressed through actions. “I believe it is for a purpose that the scriptures emphasize Christ’s love as seen through his actions more than through his verbal expressions,” he writes. “He healed the afflicted, he lifted the downtrodden, he taught the spiritually hungry, he blessed, he touched, he wept, he served—he loved!”

Lord, I Would Follow Thee will help the reader remember the Lore more, know him better, and serve him more valiantly.

I'd give three and a half or four stars. His books are all enjoyable. I've read three or four of his now and they have really solid doctrine, and none speculation. Heelys is a nice job of finding good examples and good scriptures and applying them to what he's focusing on. His books are never riveting, but enlighten me.

I didn't realize this was published so long ago. The emphasis on "ministering" made me think that it was a brand new book.

This was inspiring, thought-provoking, and encouraging - everything I was looking for from it.

As a follower of Jesus Christ, this book reminds the reader of aspects of discipleship which include ministering to others as the Saviour would minister, applying the Atonement, showing faith through action and how one lives.

I forgot I even listened to this book, that may be why I gave it such a low rating. As I went through it again I remembered parts of it, but nothing that really stood out to me. Some good stories.
