Every Arizona Ranger fan needs to read Blood Rock! Samuel Burrack is introduced to his readers. We are allowed to see his progress from civilian to his decision to become a ranger. We learn his motivation and are given a clear view into his character.

We are introduced to Fast Larry Shaw, who we will see in other books in this series. Who wouldn't want to learn to shoot from the fastest gun alive.

If you are a Ranger Fan this book is a must!

Excellent! I really liked this book. It delves into the backstory of the Ranger..who he was before and what lead him down this path. Very enjoyable.
Some typos and continuity problems..pretty typical from this author though. It starts to get a little annoying after a while, but nonetheless good book!

A little too modern language and thinking crept into this tale for my taste but otherwise it's a good western. Some of the idioms were definitely not used in the early 1800's when this story was supposed to take place.

"NEVER LOOK BACK"

Sam Burrack has developed and relied on what was told and taught to him by gun fighter Fast Larry Shaw, and Ranger Clyde"Outrider"Saez before they both left him. He's becoming his own man, but still learning the ways of the outlaws who roam the "Badlands of Arizona" plotting, killing, looting the innocent inhabitants of the small towns in and around the "Badlands".

I am not normally a western fan but a few writers seem to jump out and grab me. Ralph Cotton writes a quick paced and very historically accurate book. Nice read with great characters. Very recommended

This is the first in a series of westerns about a Texas Ranger. In this novel, Cotton tells the story of how Sam Burrack became a lawman. A quite entertaining read.

Good Book

I have enjoyed reading about how Sam got that scar on his face. He had a hard time there for awhile. I will be reading more on Sam Burrack, on to book 4.
