I purchased this book back in March 2015 and have had it on my 'to-read' pile for all of that period. I adored Julia's first novel, Pieces, when it was originally released and every couple of months, I'd check back on her website and social media sites to see if her new book had finally been published.

Nearing the end of 2017 (it's the 31st of December today), I finally pulled finger and decided that I was going to read the book before the end of the year.

Like 'Pieces', I enjoyed the sequel so very much. I'm not sure what it is about her writing, but Julia manages to make you devour the book in an entire sitting. It didn't take long after opening the book, before I was thrust back into the world of Angelique McCourt and her hectic life after her best friend was brutally murdered. This time, Angie is still struggling with day-to-day life and attempting to get her life back on track, when things are about to become a whole lot more interesting for her.

I don't want to give away the story, but I love a good mystery novel and her second book manages to provide just that - as well as adding in a sprinkling of psychological thriller. If you want something fast-paced, that keeps you on the edge of your seat, this is definitely a book for you.

Julia is an immensely talented author and I genuinely hope that she is working on another novel.
