Rate this book
"Betrayal. One clueless target. The deck played against them. Dealers of death on the run. People are dying. Everyone wants a piece of the action. Jason not only needed to protect Noah from assassin's, but he also had to protect his own heart from Noah's natural sweetness. Talk about a rock & a hard place."

Buckle up- there's a new game in town!

"A Gay M/M Romance, a refreshingly different and exciting story."

Jason Miller who was forced into hiding after being betrayed. All he knew, all he wanted was to be one of the elite Dealers of BlackJack. An agency that dealt with issues and people the general public wanted no knowledge of, unfortunately, he wasn't the only one. The covert agency he worked for is no more. Experience had taught him the best way to hide is in plain sight. Yesterday, he was an assassin, today, he was a barista. The irony did not escape him. Life was never boring.

Dr. Noah Sullivan loved being a Physicist and a mama's boy. If it weren't for his passion for a quad-house-regular-rice-caramel-cinnamon-stick-extra-whip-mocha-swirl large cup of coffee with legs; He would never have met the sexiest man ever - his awesome barista. Yummy Jason was the only one to make his coffee just how he liked it. Deliciously moan worthy.

" When these two get together, all hell breaks loose. Take one Assassin hiding out as a Barista, plus one adorable Physicist; throw in a covert agency and the Cartel, with their own assassins on the take. Chicago will never be the same. Neither will Jason and Noah."

"Buy this book ...If you had ever felt the need to be protected & cherished. Or the overwhelming desire to protect & cherish another."

Most of all I'm a romantic daydreamer, a one click buyer, a certified fangirl and an insomniac. So that I can read my favorite author's new books, all night long. Always have and always will be. I write about relatable fictional characters that love, laugh, cry and struggle just like the rest of us in the real world. Some you will want to protect. Others you will love to embrace. Others you will have the urge to throat punch and hate.Ultimately some will advance to find a hard earned happily ever after.

When I'm not writing, I'm hanging out with my six dogs in the back yard drinking delicious coffee. Or taking a ridiculously long hot shower while skillfully reading my kindle. (Five years strong, no dead kindle yet!) So, with a grateful, humble heart. I welcome you to my world. A fictional world brought to life, only by the magic of your hands and imagination.

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.
Having previously read Alma Pagan's "The Duchess: Perfect Enough", I had already had a glimpse of her writing style and character building. Let's just say I Thought, I had an idea of her style. This book totally blew me away. From the first chapter I was hooked. Totally different from the "The Duchess: Perfect Enough". I mean, TOTALLY DIFFERENT AND AMAZING!!! I was thoroughly invested in Jason and Noah from the beginning, and had a real hard time putting this book down so I could get a little rest! Jason started out being so cold and focused, but as you got to know him there was a very wonderful gooey center to him that made you fall in absolute love with him. Noah, your everyday geek, but soooooooooooo much more to him. I refuse to be one of those people who give all the good stuff away, so you're just going to have to read it for yourself. Let's just say I can hardly wait to read more of the Blackjack series. Alma is definitely one too keep tabs on!!!

Fantastic!!

A great new series. Filled with intrigue and mystery, strong alpha characters who live on the fringes but find that special someone who opens up their softer loving side. Jason and Noah are perfect for each other. The story was fast paced, edge of your seat thrilling, and the secondary characters bring so much to the mix. I could not put it down! I cannot wait for the next story and see where she takes us on this ride! Brilliant and so well done!!

********I was gifted this ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review********

I have not read anything by this author but discovered her from a post in a M/M Romance group. I quickly looked up the book she was showcasing and was very intrigued by the plot. I immediately fell in love with the nerdy and adorable Noah whose 'okey dokey J' made my heart skip every time. I loved the fierce protectiveness of Jason for his nerdy doctor. The plot was very original and well written with a great supporting cast. The story does have some pretty graphic violence but also has a softer side with some steamy sex! This story also showcases a huge problem that exists worldwide and that is the continued undetected flow of drugs, weapons and human trafficking. Kudos Ms. Pagan! I can't wait to read the next installment!

This was a great, five-star story and I'm hoping the next in the series will be out soon. However, if I could make a suggestion: Please, get a good line editor. It detracted from the story to have missing or misplaced punctuation and sentences which ran together. That was the only reason I gave the book four stars because it was distracting to the point it made the story less enjoyable.
I loved the entire premise of the story and the characters were engaging, with the doctor being downright goofy and lovable.
