Great addition to the story line, with an important revelation to the ongoing story arc. Loved both the characters -- very appropriate yet surprising match up.

As a big fan of the Bloodhounds series as a whole, honestly, I was a bit wary when I’d heard that Diana and Nate were going to be featured in the next book of this series, because I wasn’t sure how the Moira Rogers team was going to be able to pull them off as a couple. I should never have doubted them.
With the dual nature of both Vampire and Bloodhound running through Nate’s veins, as well as the fact that he has both the wisdom and the cynicism of an old man combined with the looks and vigor of youth, he was far more of a force to be reckoned with than I’d ever anticipated, and I really enjoyed seeing him finally come into his own as a character in his own right rather than simply someone there to lend support to others and fill in the storylines.
Diana was a big favorite of mine in the last book, Archer’s Lady, and she continues to be my favorite female of the series so far. Whether you consider her an accident or an abomination, one thing is certain, Diana is unique, and just as fierce as her namesake, the Greek Goddess of the Hunt.
I loved that Diana was allowed to be both powerful and vulnerable, and that Nate was able to feel as though he were an older character unaccustomed to a younger man’s body at times. Together, they were an explosive combination, and were very easily my favorite couple thus far.
It’s not often that I go into a story uncertain as to whether I’m even going to like the main couple, and come out with such an enormous grin on my face.
While I would recommend that newcomers to the series go back and at least read Archer’s Lady to get a bit of an introduction to Nate and Diana, if not to the Guild itself, for me this was, hands down, the best book of the series.
A very solid 5/5 Stars.

I have one complain only. It was too damn short and it felt cut, rather than finished. :)
The main coup at the end deserved more time and space. It's such a huge change for the over all story. Actually this is the first book in the series that shows an overall arch. All the other stories are connected, but the links were somewhat loose. h
This is not a stand-alone book. I think you might read it anyway, but it would really seem too short and too focused on the main couple (and you wouldn't know why).
The Moira Rogers couple is one of the few authors really able to pull off a novella of the erotic romantic kind and make you believe in it.

This is Nate’s second life. He was an old man, and now he’s young again, but still with all his memories and experience.
Bwahaha.
Nate tells Diana that Doc, her saviour, had kept trying to make more Hounds, but the Guild wanted different things: stronger, faster, more impervious to pain… and more of them when Doc wanted better, less flawed Hounds. In frustration, he left the Guild and hid.
Nate and Emmett (the oldest of them) know of at least one rogue Hound. Oddly, the Guild should have put him down and now rumours say he’s selling women across the border into vampire country. Emmett suspects he’s the Hound that made Diana, so she’ll be enticing bait for a trap. But which of them will pose as her owner selling their blood slave? Feeding a vampire can be intensely pleasurable and addictive. Nate insists it be him, and Diana is eager to agree. Vampires cannot drink from normal Hounds, but they know Hunter and Diana are different.
So off they go to Crystal Springs to run the plan past their best undercover man, Archer.
Grace is just excited to meet Nathan Powell the weapons maker, which makes Nate blink. But when Archer suggests they start the operation at a blood and sex club in the Deadlands, he nearly has a fit.
The club is in the vampire city of Eternity, a copy of Venice, canals and all. Diana thinks it has to much gilt and smells funny. Nate just thinks vampires are obsessed with the the past.
Their first problem is Nate has been taking pinches of the blood substitute Doc invented and his skills are weaker, plus he doesn’t register to vampires as a vampire. He needs to drink blood. And Diana is right there, and she IS supposed to be his blood slave. Plus, her Hound doesn’t want him to drink from anyone else, and once he does drink from her… everything is heightened; especially his hound side and his vampire ability to hear the thoughts of others (but he can no longer hear her’s).
The first night, a vampire says she can’t be a female Hound and she stakes him with a table leg.
Oopsies.
When the new moon arrives. Nate is more hound than vampire, and he’s always been able to resist the wanting before. Diana changes everything.
Exactly.
But if you’re part vampire and you bite her? Bam… three days locked in their room. [whoa… these two are fiery]
It is a trap, but not for the rogue.

Put the two words “Moira” and “Rogers” together as the author of a written work and I will trample anyone who tried to stop me from reading it. In other words, I am a huge Rogers fan and look forward to whatever their latest release is. The Bloodhounds series is one I turn to as a re-read when I want alpha men, strong women, smexytimes where the sole purpose is the maximum amount of pleasure possible, vampires, shapeshifters, and people fighting to preserve their freedom. In this particular installment, I got all of that and then some not to mention another increase in tension between the borderlands and the Guild.
Nate and Diana should not exist by the laws of the Guild, their inventors, and everything publically seen in the fight against the vampires. Diana survived a vicious Bloodhound attack and was transformed into the first known female Bloodhound. Her existence has been kept a secret because the Guild would want her as a lab subject. She was struggling to find her place as both a woman and a Bloodhound with all of the build-in instincts to protect and the vulnerability caused by the moon. Nate, once a skilled aging Guild inventor suffered a vampiric transformation that was aided by the blood of an illegally created Bloodhound. He was also trying to find his place as a now young inventor, weakened by the sun, with a requirement to drink blood. Together they decided to face rumors of a rogue Bloodhound selling unwilling humans to vampires for pets.
The events that set up Nate and Diana’s trip are rather disturbing to the order of things. Bloodhounds were invented to protect against vampires not to attack humans, sell humans, or assist vampires in their territory management. However, reports and encounters in the borderlands are making it seem as if the Guild is trying to play both sides. Against that politically charged and dangerous backdrop are two misfits who have to cut through all of their social trappings and find each other in order to survive.
I liked Nate primarily as the man who cared for and taught Satira, heroine of Wilder’s Mate Book #1, but I really did not have a feeling for him outside of that until this story. Rogers did a great job mixing his old man set in his ways habit and mindset with the almost uncontrollable urges of a much younger and vigorous man. He also had to deal with the Bloodhound protective nature and that was focused on Diana. Watching Nate struggle with all of the new aspects of his life especially while dealing with a situation that needed his control and intellect was very entertaining.
I fell in love with Diana’s character from the moment she walked on screen in Archer’s Lady so I was very happy to hear she was getting her own story. Not that I have anything against the male Bloodhounds but I have a not so secret weakness for women doing well in a traditional man’s job while still being themselves. Diana knew how to work with her strengths and biological differences from the other Bloodhounds while efficiently protecting her territory. However, after moving in with Wilder and Satira, she wasn’t quite comfortable in her role there not to mention her growing attraction to Nate.
I had an absolute blast watch Nate and Diana in a situation that practically forced them to deal with their attraction. Rogers did a wonderful job bringing their attraction to the forefront scene by scene. In addition to the attraction and mutual needed trust Nate and Diana had to deal with some unexpected visitors and confirmation that things on the Borderlands are not how the Guild should be operating. Each installment has widened the divide between the Guild and Bloodhounds who are trying to protect the border. I think this is leading up to a split and maybe an internal war of some sort. I was also introduced to a new Bloodhound that I hope will make his way to Wilder’s crew.
Once again Rogers provided an intense enjoyable read. They are skilled at mixing up character roles yet allowing the characters to remain true to their essence. They also continue to move the overall series arc along while moving individual characters along their journeys. The interlocking nature and threads assists in making this series an absolute delight to read. As usual I cannot wait for the next installment.

February 23, 2022Probably shouldn't have forced this: I wanted to complete the series, but I wasn't actually in the mood for how surface-level these books are. Like, I'm not trying to drag the writing team behind Moira Rogers, but the Bloodhounds books are pretty snackish and light. This the final book kind of got into the backstory and lore of how the Bloodhounds were created and the fucked up politics behind their mission, but then it also drops a lot of threads. It's fine! It's not better than that though.

The first time I read this series, I didn't know it wasn't going to continue,and Dian's book would be the last. Happy that Diana and Nate found their HEA, but so much more nwas left and needing resolution. So much ahead of the Bloodhounds. Will always wonder if th Bloodhounds survived and thrived.
Whether it continued or not, this series was worth reading, the first and second times around.
As always this writing duo never fails to entertain and engage the reader.

Loved their relationship!! Very fun read - any chance this series could be continued? Surely Tobias and Cade deserve a romance, not to mention the external plot feeling unresolved!? In any case I really enjoyed this series and live in hope for future installments

Diana is a rarity in the Bloodhound world as she is female. A fierce warrior who is unapologetic about her gender and sexual appetites, she is a conundrum for Nate. Her attraction to Nate is ripe with both need and exasperation as he pushes her away out of fear yet pulls her back to him in his need to protect her.
When the answer to rumors that someone is selling women to vampires as unwilling blood donors is dropped in their laps, Nate and Diana make plans to go undercover and smoke out this rogue bloodhound. Soon, the pull of the new moon heightens the attraction between Nate and Diana, sending it spiraling out of control. If Diana and Nate can survive this job…will they accept their destiny or consign themselves to a fate worse than death?
I absolutely ADORE Moira Rogers’s steampunk/ paranormal series-The Bloodhounds. In fact, I pretty much adore all their work. Diana’s Hound is an incredibly sexy, action packed story that will keep you glued to your e reader. Ripe with sexual promise and a tense storyline, this enchanting mixture of old and new sets the stage as we prepare to engage with our two explosive protagonists-Nate and Diana.
We first met Nate in Wilder’s Mate. He was Satira’s mentor and the man she risked everything to rescue. Nate was in a bad way when they found him and has struggled with his dual nature from day one. He now resides with the bloodhounds in Iron Creek and is attempting to expand upon the work started by the man who made the Bloodhounds-Epiham. His old world style gallantry makes him a delightful beta hero yet Diana brings forth his hidden alpha tendencies; which scares him.
Diana is a beautiful, intelligent woman who manages to maintain her femininity while being who and what she is in a man’s world. Turned into a hound as a young girl and losing her husband in the process, Diana is an interesting mixture of bravado and vulnerability. She wants Nate badly but won’t beg for his attention. As with most of Roger’s heroines, Diana is not a shy retiring heroine. She’s had a hard life but she has risen above it. She’s also very pragmatic and that struck a chord with me. She doesn’t hide from Nate nor what she feels and gives voice to it often.
Nate and Diana are perfect together. Loyal and intelligent; both seem to be holding their breaths-waiting for that something or someone to complete them. Unlike the other Bloodhound relationships, there is no marked alpha/beta hierarchy in this relationship. They are remarkably similar in temperament and it works well for them.
The dialogue between them is both humorous and seductive as they fit together well with just enough friction to keep it interesting. The chemistry is apparent from the beginning and a steady undercurrent flows between them, priming you for when they will go to the next level. The romance blends well with the sexual attraction to the point where you cannot be sure which came first.
The secondary characters add further suspense and mystery to an already explosive storyline. I loved the interaction between already established series characters. Old revelations are expanded upon concerning the Guild that take will take this series down new and exciting paths. What I really love about all of Moira Roger books is no character is used just as filling. Each one is imbibed with enough vitality that you want then to have their own story.
The plot is solid with plenty of suspense and action to keep you satisfied. I do like the villain(s) was more prominently featured in this one and the storyline is built upon layers that I await impatiently for answers to. All and all another brilliant read by the ladies of Moira Rogers that left me wanting to read more about these sexy, sexy Bloodhounds and the women who are their destiny.

I absolutely ADORE Moira Rogers’s steampunk/ paranormal series-The Bloodhounds. In fact, I pretty much adore all their work. Diana’s Hound is an incredibly sexy, action packed story that will keep you glued to your e reader. Ripe with sexual promise and a tense storyline, this enchanting mixture of old and new sets the stage as we prepare to engage with our two explosive protagonists-Nate and Diana.
We first met Nate in Wilder’s Mate. He was Satira’s mentor and the man she risked everything to rescue. Nate was in a bad way when they found him and has struggled with his dual nature from day one. He now resides with the bloodhounds in Iron Creek and is attempting to expand upon the work started by the man who made the Bloodhounds-Epiham. His old world style gallantry makes him a delightful beta hero yet Diana brings forth his hidden alpha tendencies; which scares him.
Diana is a beautiful, intelligent woman who manages to maintain her femininity while being who and what she is in a man’s world. Turned into a hound as a young girl and losing her husband in the process, Diana is an interesting mixture of bravado and vulnerability. She wants Nate badly but won’t beg for his attention. As with most of Roger’s heroines, Diana is not a shy retiring heroine. She’s had a hard life but she has risen above it. She’s also very pragmatic and that struck a chord with me. She doesn’t hide from Nate nor what she feels and gives voice to it often.
Nate and Diana are perfect together. Loyal and intelligent; both seem to be holding their breaths-waiting for that something or someone to complete them. Unlike the other Bloodhound relationships, there is no marked alpha/beta hierarchy in this relationship. They are remarkably similar in temperament and it works well for them.
The dialogue between them is both humorous and seductive as they fit together well with just enough friction to keep it interesting. The chemistry is apparent from the beginning and a steady undercurrent flows between them, priming you for when they will go to the next level. The romance blends well with the sexual attraction to the point where you cannot be sure which came first.
The secondary characters add further suspense and mystery to an already explosive storyline. I loved the interaction between already established series characters. Old revelations are expanded upon concerning the Guild that take will take this series down new and exciting paths. What I really love about all of Moira Roger books is no character is used just as filling. Each one is imbibed with enough vitality that you want then to have their own story.
The plot is solid with plenty of suspense and action to keep you satisfied. I do like the villain(s) was more prominently featured in this one and the storyline is built upon layers that I await impatiently for answers to. All and all another brilliant read by the ladies of Moira Rogers that left me wanting to read more about these sexy, sexy Bloodhounds and the women who are their destiny.

Diana’s Hound 4.5 stars
The end to a great series
Diana’s Hound is the 4th and final book in the Bloodhound Series and features Nate Powell and Diana. Nate once worked with the Guild as an inventor until he was abducted by vampires. It was then that his life changed forever. Nate refused to do their bidding so they changed him into a vampire only at his age he wasn’t surviving the change. On a whim, they made him feed on a bloodhound which in turn made into a one of kind half vampire half bloodhound (werewolf). The advantages of being both are that he looks to be a man in his prime ½ his real age rather just a more fit version of the man he used to be. Unlike other vampires, he can tolerate sunlight and unlike other bloodhounds he doesn’t change into a werewolf during the full moon. All of this is covered in the first book of the series. Now that Nate is in Iron Creek and once again working in his lab, he no longer feels the need to end his life but he’s far from happy.
Diana for all sense and purposes should not be alive. There are grown men that do not survive the change after being bitten by a bloodhound. After her and her husband were brutally attacked during a full moon, he didn’t survive but she did making her the only female bloodhound in existence. If the Guild were to ever find out about her, she would hunted down and studied to see what made her different. Up until recently only the small town from where she was attacked knew of her. She protected them from the vampires and they kept her secret but now that her town is no longer in danger and another bloodhound has taken over protecting them, she has moved to Iron Creek to work with other bloodhounds. But it’s not the training that holds her captive every day, it’s Nate. When they find out that a rouge bloodhound is selling women to the vampires, it’s up to Nate and Diana to try and find out just what’s going on. Posing as a vampire and his bloodhound “pet” they must keep their cool but when the new moon comes and both feel the urge to be together they may have taken things too far because once a bloodhound mates, it’s for life and they’ve been set up so if one dies, they both die.
While I loved the story itself, the ending felt rushed and unfinished. I say this because this book was written in 2013 and was the last of the series but the ending makes you believe that there will be more. This is not a book that should be read as a stand-alone. Nate’s story starts in book one and Diana’s in book three so my advice is to start at the beginning. Each are more of a Novella rather than a novel and at the time of this review are all currently free if you have Kindle Unlimited on Amazon. Moira Rogers is currently writing under the name of Kit Rocha who is the author of the highly erotic Beyond Series.

Well what can I say other than "GIMME MORE MORE MORE MORE!!!" I know the authors know I adore their stuff under this pen name as well as under their Kit Rocha persona (coughACEcough) but this series has proven to be one of the most intriguing from the standpoint of the characters and time period they've introduced. I find myself wanting to know more about how the Guild came in to being let alone what exactly is so special about Hunter and Diana.
Diana has been handling her status as the only known female bloodhound very well and knows that even though this isn't what she originally thought her life would be she is still happy to be living it. She's strongly attracted to Nate but also knows that she shouldn't be as how could he want her. She's done her time having assignations with men who meant nothing more than a way to survive the moon's call on her as a bloodhound but Nate calls to her in a way that she didn't expect. She's trying to learn her place in the world of Bloodhounds by learning how to fight and not only serve her purpose of killing vampires but helping uncover the secrets her mentor kept from her. She agrees to go on a mission to find out more about the rogue hound that created her even though it could result in her death at the hands of demons and vampires. The one wrinkle in this plan is Nate has decided he will be the one leading her in to this hell which in itself creates a new hell.
Nate is still coming to terms with this new hybrid life he has been saddled with. I mean being half-vampire/bloodhound is hard enough without his new attraction to Diana. She calls to his primal soul more than any other woman but he is convinced that she deserves so much better than he can ever give her plus I mean he's so much older than the vibrant younger bloodhound. He admires her and struggles with his instincts to keep her from harm even as he knows she needs to fight as it is her nature as a hound. When he finally gives in to his yearning we get some incredibly hot scenes with such a great balance of heart/love behind it. He's aware for the first time in his long life that things are best when you can find someone to truly share yourself with and for that alone the book shone bright.
Special thanks to the authors for once again letting me get my hands on their work early. I cannot thank the ladies enough (although coughmoreACEcough would make me an extremely happy person) for being willing to let me have it early in hopes that I would review it and sing their praises… :-)

Which I would say never happens to me, but there���s a reason I never review Moira Rogers books.
And it ain���t lack of interest.
See, I got this ARC back in January. Early January. And I���m writing this review at the eleventh hour. No literally. It���s 11 pm the night before the title is released.
BECAUSE I WIN.
Actually, it���s because I don���t feel the same about Diana and Nate as I did about Archer and Grace. Archer and Grace were perfection in a steampunk wild west couple with pseudo werewolves and vampires. Per-fec-tion. Plus their story line left the world���s overall plot not so much wrapped up in a neat little bow, but I was okay with where it was.
Then came along Diana and Nate and I was left going ���aw hell.���
First of all, Diana and Nate are kind of uber badass. Okay, not kind of. Really. Really uber badass. Female Bloodhound. Male Half-Bloodhound Half-Vampire. The bets, they are fucking off. (I did not just giggle. I am professional.)
(Okay, I giggled.)
(Don���t tell anyone���)
Shit gets real, real quick with these two. For starters, they have this mad crazy lust thing going on. For��� uh��� followers��� they have this new mystery to take care of. A mystery that leads them into vampire infested waters. Because you can���t have this much badass in the usual Bloodhounds setting. No way. You���ve got to drop them right into the center of a fake Venice right in the middle of vampire country.
Which is where I ran into trouble.
See, I think I read the book in 20 minutes. Or 20 days. I dunno, I opened the book and didn���t set it down until I was finished. At which point the sun was in a different place in the sky, but I wasn���t sick from hunger and/or thirst and my family hadn���t left me. I read it so quickly though that I knew, I just knew, I wasn���t going to like how this shit ended.
Are Diana and Nate resolved? Yes. Of course they are, Donna and Bree are professionals and wouldn���t leave you with romantic blue balls.
The over all story arc of the world though? FUCKING HELL IF THAT ISN���T IN SOME KIND OF FUCKING TURMOIL AND HOW FUCKING LONG DO I HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK?! SERIOUSLY? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME WITH THIS SHIT?!?!?!?!!oneelevnty!?!?!
Oh Donna and Bree, you are cruel cruel women.
Don���t ever change.

The first female bloodhound and first hybrid vampire/bloodhound, Diana and Nate should have died from their attacks yet both survived and are heading to a city run by vampires to find the rogue hound responsible for selling humans to vampires. Complicating things is the urge to mate that Nate is determined to avoid for Diana's own good but she will not be dismissed. Her hound has found its mate and he's in for a surprise if he thinks he'll be able to get away.
Nate is decades older than his young appearance may lead one to believe. Thanks to his forced transformation into a half-vampire, half-bloodhound, Nate was physically returned to his prime but his years of experience has him keeping his distance from Diana for her own good. Yea, as if that plan is going to work. Nate may be older but Diana is the wiser bloodhound. Instead of wallowing in the fact she lost her husband and was forcibly changed in a bloodhound, Diana accepts what she is and waits for Nate's beastly half to recognize what's happening between them.
Diana takes the lead in her relationship with Nate. She lets things run at his pace, even if it is more and more frustrating as the time of the month approaches that will send her into a lust filled craze for three days. Diana isn't over the top, I need to prove my strength as the only female of my kind she can potentially be and I love her more for it. She'll cut you down if need be but she can also rock a dress and drop jaws with the best of them. The only time when the places were reversed was in the bedroom, under strategically placed mirrors, and in those scenes, Nate takes over and shows he's good at more than just making weapons. He definitely makes a case for inventors being sexy!
Nate and Diana's dangerous mission to find and stop who's responsible for selling humans to vampires takes a turn for the worse when the person responsible isn't who you think. I love the twists Moira Rogers adds to their books because they make sense and are not thrown in for the sake of having something fresh happen. What happens in this book is going to take the Bloodhound series in another direction I'm excited to see.
Diana's Hound has Wild West action with a paranormal kick, awesome characters, hot romance, interesting story, all pulled together by some fantastic writing. Everything I adore about this series. As usual, I look forward to their next release.

I continue to be impressed with this super-sexy and gritty series. If you’re unfamiliar with the Bloodhound books, they center around a breed of engineered shifters in a kind of alternative- western- historical world with a little bit of a steampunk vibe. If that sounds kind of schizophrenic, it’s not… it really works. Of course, it helps that is has some smokin-hot sex in there too.
We met Diana in Archer’s book. She is an anomoly among the Bloodhounds –A– because she is a woman and –B– because she wasn’t turned by the Bloodhound Guild. Instead, she was attacked by a rogue hound and survived, changed. She was taken in by the inventor of the Bloodhound alchemy, though she didn’t know it at the time. Now that he is gone, she is working with Nate, hoping to understand his research.
Nate has been a part of the series from the beginning. I must admit, it was little hard for me to see him as a love interest at first. After all, he was introduced as a father-type figure to Satira… a man in his 60′s. Now that the vampire-Bloodhound hybrid thing he’s got going on has changed his physiology, he looks young again. But in my head, Nate = old dude. However, that all went out of the window when the sexual vibe kicked on.
Nate and Diana want each other. He’s fighting it because of the age difference and because of what he is. But once they go undercover together to figure out who is selling hounds to the vampires, that reticence gets harder to hold onto. Especially when they spend the New Moon together. For new readers, the new moon means “wild, passionate, crazy sex for three days.” (*fans self*) In other words… one of the highlights of every book.
If it sounds like I am fixating on the sex, maybe I am I’m not. But that isn’t all the book has to offer. I liked Diana. She has survived so much and still remains strong and whole and willing to love again. Nate is a dumbass once or twice, but for the most part, he respects both sides of Diana and only wants what’s best for her. We get some advancement in the overall series arc. And… dammit, the sex is really hot.
Just read it.

I have been looking forward to reading Nate's story ever since I read Wilder's Mate. And I am glad I requested this ARC.
The world of the blood hounds are a harsh world, filled with dangers. This book gave another dimension to the vampires. It was intresting to see how polite the vampires in Eternity was, compared to how they normally were described.
Eternity might be home to vampires, but it was also a flaunting of power. In fact, I couldn't help wondering how the life in both Deadlands and at the Border would have been if Eternity hadn't existed.
I liked Diana and Nate. They are both oddities among the Bloodhounds. Diana because she is female, the only female hound, infact. Nate because he is part blood hound, part vampire. But.. they fit each other. Diana were a fighter, and Nate primarily a inventor.
Their search for the rogue hound that created Diana was fast paced, and filled with unexpected twists. The fact that they were headed to Eternity, a town filled with vampires added to the tension. As did the sexual tension between them. The sexual tension, combined with the protective urges added another layer to the story.
The plot wrapped up the story arc, but it had a whopper of a twist that made me itch to read the next book.
Despite all the things I loved with this book, it took a long time before it fully hooked me. And a big part of that, is because I requested this ARC two days before I realised that I am tired of paranormal romance and Urban Fantasy.

As did the sexual tension between them. The sexual tension, combined with the protective urges added another layer to the story.
The plot wrapped up the story arc, but it had a whopper of a twist that made me itch to read the next book.
Despite all the things I loved with this book, it took a long time before it fully hooked me. And a big part of that, is because I requested this ARC two days before I realised that I am tired of paranormal romance and Urban Fantasy.

Standard Disclaimer: I love this series. LOVE IT. I've been hooked on this paranormal steampunk sexiness since book 1 fell into my hands. This book -- THIS BOOK -- is so full of bite-y, fight-y awesomeness that your head might explode. Which would be unfortunate but I think you'll agree that it's TOTALLY worth it.
Diana and Nate are an explosive duo. Nate has enough bloodhound to feel territorial around Diana and she flat-out wants him. Get them together and things happen! Sexy things! Things that would make their mamas blush.
Things that rocked my world -- we got to see the whole gang again. I love when characters from previous books pop in and poke around. The bloodhounds are still fighting the good fight, protecting the humans from the vampires and trying their hardest to make their little corner of the world safe. Their respective mates haven't slowed any of them down - they're still feral and vicious and they crave the fighting they were bred for.
With revelations that could easily fuel several future books (YES, PLEASE!), sexy shenanigans galore, and several old favorites putting in an appearance, this installment is full of all the things that made me fall in love with these bloodhounds in the first place. Paranormal steampunk never had it so good!

What it's about: This is the fourth book in the Bloodhound series and involves Diana and Nate. Nate is half-vampire and half-bloodhound, an abomination. He no longer yearns for death, but he also is not exactly thrilled to live. Diana, though, is something new, something unique … a female bloodhound. Now they have to infiltrate the vampires and save the women who are being sold — and fight the mating attraction between the two of them.
Why you should read it: The author pairing of Moira Rogers is fantastic together and they know how to make chemistry. Both Nate and Diana shouldn't exist but do, and I loved how Diana knew that they were experiencing a mating pull and wanted to get down and dirty with Nate, but it was Nate who was the reluctant one. The Bloodhounds are some of my favorite getaway books, so if you want some mystery, action, a pack of hot Bloodhounds (who actually aren't sexist and welcome Diana as a fellow warrior) and some steamy chemistry, I'd recommend this series. The first book is Wilder's Mate.

Diana's Hound was my favorite of Moira Roger's Bloodhounds series to date. Diana, the only female Bloodhound, and Nate, the formerly old inventor turned vampire who is bit hound as well were a great pairing. And with that little bit of Hound to break down Nate's reservations about his attraction to Diana the 'moon' time for the pair was twice as steamy.
I like this series, in addition to a bit of spicy romance, there is a touch of steampunk (sort of an old west setting) and the Hounds are 'magically' bioengineered and there are vampire bad guys. The stories are short so they are more about the romance, but there still is an overarching thread developing in the background that always has me looking forward to the next book.

Not quite four stars.
This series for me would have been fabulous if only it could get out of its way.
The books are so short they feel like novellas, but the stories they contain are too expansive to be contained by novellas.
Also the smex: yes, yes, yes, I get this is supposed to be erotic romance, but the smex took up too much space, dammit. With these books being so short, spending time on sexual gymnastics took away valuable space that coulda been used to expand the world or deepen characters. Womp.
Good enough series, but I was looking for so much more.

While I loved each book of this series separately, I was left with a feeling of incompleteness. inside the romance of each book there was also a building of tension between the vampires, the guild, and the hounds. This tension was ratcheted up greatly in the fourth/last book. I feel like at least two and possibly up to four more books are hiding in Ms. Rogers brain waiting to be added. If they are ever released, I will be the first in line to obtain them

Full of excitement!
Wow! I really enjoyed this book! Female bloodhound and a hybrid bloodhound and vampire, can't get any crazier than that! But they were perfect together, bringing out the need to live in each other. In fact this whole series so far is awesome. I really hope that Moira Rogers picks up this series again soon because I can't wait to read more!

3.5 stars. I felt like this one was missing something... It also ended to soon, I thought they should have went back to the others and informed them and let us know what they are going to do about the guild or where they are going to go now that they are basically at war with the guild.

4th in this series. makes more sense if read in order. nate finds out just how nasty the guild has become along with utter betrayal by the guild's leaders. Diana was equally betrayed by the guild. now they're mated.

Nate and Diana go undercover to find the Bloodhound that is working withthe vampires. They are fighting their feelings for each other but as things start to get intense they realize that they need each other.
