This is a VERY helpful book for someone like myself, who wants to go into teaching, and yet classroom discipline is my greatest fear. This book gives much to think about, and increases understanding (which always decreases fear) of some of the psychology between teachers and students. I am finally finding answers to some of the dilemmas I have faced as a substitute or instructor's aide, and it will be even more applicable when I become a teacher.
I didn't care for the way this textbook was organized, and I didn't like a great deal of the Case Scenarios that were presented. I prefer to use a text that gives more practical strategies and more inclusion of a variety of management theories/philosophies, so that teachers can develop their own from those presented. I just didn't feel like this was a very student/user-friendly text.
