Chris Claremont

Claremont has written many stories for other publishers including the Star Trek Debt of Honor graphic novel, his creator-owned Sovereign Seven for DC Comics and Aliens vs Predator for Dark Horse Comics. He also wrote a few issues of the series WildC.A.T.s (volume 1, issues #10-13) at Image Comics, which introduced his creator-owned character, Huntsman.
Outside of comics, Claremont co-wrote the Chronicles of the Shadow War trilogy, Shadow Moon (1995), Shadow Dawn (1996), and Shadow Star (1999), with George Lucas. This trilogy continues the story of Elora Danan from the movie Willow. In the 1980s, he also wrote a science fiction trilogy about female starship pilot Nicole Shea, consisting of First Flight (1987), Grounded! (1991), and Sundowner (1994). Claremont was also a contributor to the Wild Cards anthology series.

Di ranah Limbo, semesta aneh yang berisikan kekuatan-kekuatan jahat, Illyana Rasputin jadi rebutan. Gadis kecil adik dari Piotr Nikolievitch (yang dikenal sebagai Colossus) ini akhirnya terjebak di dalam Limbo setelah para X-Men yang dibantu oleh Ororo penyihir gagal membawanya pulang ke Bumi. Belasco, penyihir jahat yang menguasai Limbo, menanamkan pengaruh jahat pada diri Illyana. Storm penyihir dan Kitty Pride Shadowcat, dua orang X-Men yang juga pernah merasakan pengaruh jahat Belasco berusaha mencegah kerusakan pada jiwa Illyana. Akankah mereka berhasil? There’s a bit of a recap to follow on from the original X-Men issue where this took place, and then we get to see that missing time for poor Illyana. And it is gross.
Barely veiled metaphor for the damage of child abuse, Belasco a child predator. When Ororo gets angry and accidentally hurts Illyana, the child states how Belasco never hurt her, how he was nice and said he loved her… the realness of the manipulation of a child’s psyche is really shown here, and probably demonstrates more than any other media why children fall prey to these kinds of people. Giving her gifts, love, kindness and warm words, while the child feels vulnerable and hurt by the person trying to protect them. It is a very upsetting read, but incredibly well written and, for obvious reasons, not a subject matter that comic books tend to cover, and so it is important and any young people that read it will learn something by it.

Following UXM #160, we see Illyana in limbo. Belasco separates her body and spirit and corrupts the spirit version of her. Cat (some version of Kitty Pryde) shows up to fight Belasco, until he leaves.
Ororo and Cat take Illyana back to Storm’s place, and Storm wants to make Illyana her apprentice, like she was to Belasco. Cat is against it.
Storm teaches Illyana a little bit of magic, and by the end of the lesson she has aged a year. They go back after they’re finished to eat.
Cat shows up, disarms Storm and tells Illyana she can find a way for to go home, but it’s very risky. She decides she’d rather go with Cat then stay with Storm

Pretty good, especially considering the fact that it was originally released the year I was born.
