Daily lotteries take females from the dying Earth, to the planet of Karal. Their sole purpose has been to breed with the Karal to make their next generation.

Until now.

Seven lottery winners are chosen to compete, to go on the first deep space mission, to find a new planet for the humans to call home. Only one gets to go. The rest will be sent to the farming belt.

Bronwyn has always wanted a child, but she cannot bear the idea of sentencing a child to a life on the dying Earth. Instead, she uses her extra coin to help her brother and his family. But she can't help entering the lottery, in the hope she can fulfil her dream of having her own child one day on the planet Karal.

However, when she does win the lottery, she has another decision to make. Win the trials and become the first human female to go into deep space, or live safely on Karal.

She hopes if she discovers a new planet, she might be able to secure a place for her brother and his family there. That is the only reason she tries her best, it has nothing to do with not wanting to lose to Lucile, a pent from Earth. Or her attraction to the huge, well muscled Karalian who will be her companion on the mission.

Quin is the pilot of the first deep space mission, he would rather go alone than with a female. But he has no choice, he must fulfil his duties and breed before his prime ends. To make sure his son is strong and intelligent, he is willing to put his own preferences aside and take the winner of the trials.

But the more he sees of Bronwyn, the more he wants to put aside his best judgement. Even if it means putting the mission in at risk, because he knows she makes him feel things that might influence his actions.

And that could be bad news for them both, and the whole of the human race.

Contains strong sexual themes and is meant for adults only.

I'm normally a sucker for these kind of Sci-Fi romance books...an unlikely woman plucked from her life on Earth to make alien babies with a sexy hunk of alien man meat (or two) and then skip happily off into the milky way. So, Stranded seemed like just the book for me. However, I found myself distinctly underwhelmed with this book.

That's why I am keeping this review short and to the point, I don't want to wax on about how I didn't enjoy it. When I drill down into what I didn't like about it, it comes to two things: the hero and the heroine. I felt like they had no chemistry and I didn't understand why the heroine was so eager to gain the affections of that particular alien honey bunny. The author told us she felt a pull towards him, but she didn't really show it. And I was left...completely uncaring about their fate.

I'm going to leave the review there, suffice to say although this is normally the type of book and series that I lap up, I don't see myself continuing this particular series. I move onwards in my journey to find more Sci Fi Romances I can binge on!

This was my least favorite. Besides an unsavory character, the heroine's dialogue was off somehow. The story takes a long time to get to what the title says this will be about--it takes place 4/5 through! The love was based on lust and didn't feel real. And there is a microwave on the space ship!

The ending is set up to introduce more books to answer the questions raised in this story.

Mature content, hea,

I liked it. Sort of reminds me of Angela Castle scifi romances.

I didn't realize this was a spin-off of another series, but even so, I don't think I was too lost with anything. The only thing I was wondering that wasn't explained - if the colors the Karal change across their skin mean anything (color = an emotion)? Not sure if the other books get into that or not.

I think I'll go back and read the other books as it's an interesting enough world the author created.

Unclear why this is a new series when it is a continuation of the series “Chosen by the Karal”.
Maybe so that new readers can start here and not have to read the other books? Maybe it is harder to sustain interest the deeper you get into a series? You could start with this book but why would you when the back story and some of thr characters come from the “Chosen” series?

I will warn you at this point you need to be in this for the story because the sex is all the same, a virgin warrior takes a curvy human female for the first time. He gives oral to get her ready, sticks his giant member inside her breaking the hymen, but keeps going until they both cum.

Not as hot the 6th time as it may have been the first.

Virgin rating:
Innocence of virgin hero: 3/5
Innocence in losing it: 1/5
Build up to losing it: 3/5
Hotness of losing it: 2/5
Busted touching himself: no
POV of losing it: female

Journey to the unknown to explore...

The first seven new females have been brought to Karal to find out that they will be put through trials to find out which one of them will be mated with the warrior pilot that will be going into space to find their people a new planet to live on. Can Bron prove to Quin they are made for each other when they are stranded on a planet?

Okay but you need to read the whole series I think.
Slower than I expected and a sort of HFN with our two main H’s as the full back story continues on.
I liked Bronwyn, she has guts.
Quin was a bit harder to like but that was due to the way he was raised.
Felt sad that humans have basically killed the earth.
Read through kindle unlimited.

Oh those Karalians

Having read the previous series, just had to start on the follow up, Warriors of Karal. It all links together but now a Karalian and Human Woman are sent out to space to find a new Earth. Don't like to spoil the plot by sharing in the review but if you enjoyed the first series, you will absolutely love this.

Excellent adventure!

The Warriors of Karal is fast paced and filled with thrilling adventure into the universe. Two people who are completely different struggle with their feelings towards one another while seeking out a new world where their species can coexist. This dramatic series is shaping up to be a truly amazing read!

Mediocre romance

I thought there would be sentimental love or more of emotional connection.
Also the ending was left open and unsatisfying. There was always SO MUCH talk about what the Karal council would do if rules were broken or orders not followed, only for zero consequences for Bron & Quin when they did.

the planet lottery thing is a machine to acquire breeding slaves. MC is a jerk for most the book. 3.75 stars because it gets better and it is quite interesting (the story and romance after 75%).

also first sex scene was dull.

Quick good alien romance!

I really enjoy devastated earth alien romances. This one was good. Hardened warrior having a hard time with feelings and love. Must breed with humans to save their race and find a new earth. Looking forward to reading the next book.

Brilliant Series

Stranded (Warriors of Karel Book 1) by Harmony Raines. Bron went to the planet Karel to mate with the alien Quinn and went with him to find another earth. They crash and become stranded on another planet.

Good story

Spoilers. The title alone sounds exciting but they weren't stranded the crash landed on a planet and were able to get off, but who's they and how did the ship take off, you should read the story I can't give everything away, though it's exciting stuff.

An interesting book, different from any thing that I have read. I like that it was shorter and got right to the heart of the plot

I'm giving stars for the writing really here because the karal thing isn't working for me anymore. I've been following the karalians but every time something is just... missing. I understand that writing in itself is hard as I'm an aspiring author and the book flows. There are no boring parts or anything so my stars are for that and that only.

What it's missing? I understand that karalians are taught to hide their colors and emotions from young but the lengths to which they go to sustain this inner need to be cold and at the expense of each heroines feelings, are really sometimes unforgivable. And then if it's just a matter of hurtful words that's one thing but when the male character is actually thinking these heartless thoughts, actually considering these unforgivable acts.

Quinn thinks about sending Bron back to the breeding house after she has conceived and keeping his child. He thinks it's not necessary to touch her again because she has concieved. He thinks it's a stupid idea to send a woman on the ship because she will be no help and only a distraction.

I just think that in the pursuit of making the perfect tall dark and dangerous, authors sometimes don't know where they should stop. This isn't the worst case of the guy being an a hole and then changing that I've read though. It was an easy read. I just didn't feel connected to the chaRacters. Didn't feel the affection or ... anything...

Harmony Raines can do amazing stories with bear, wolf, and dragon shifters. She really rocked it with her Alien Series on the Karal people who came to earth in search of women. Now she has taken the Karal Warriors to a whole new level. She now has them getting ready to go into deep space as promised to find new planet for the human race to live on since they have killed Earth.

Okil and Quin are getting the 7 lottery winners ready to make their trip to Karal. 1 will mate with Quin and make the first trip to deep space and the other 6 will go to the farming belt and settle with Kalaran's of their own.

Bronwyn has always a wanted a child of her own, even if she has to mate with an alien to get it. She slightly regrets her choice when she realizes that her brothers family will have to survive without her and they were just barely surviving while she was working and helping them out.

Quin is the first warrior to go looking for the new planet for the people of earth, but he had rather make the trip alone instead of with a woman! While choosing his mate it looks as though the spoiled Lucile is going to win the challenges and Quin really doesn't like her, but then he catches Lucile cheating and he is relieved that he can now choose Bronwyn.

Not going to give you any spoilers. You really must read the book. You will not put it down till you have finished it.

This is a spinoff of the original Karal series, but now we have the more common warriors getting their chance to get a mate.

Quin is the first pilot going on a mission to find a new Earth for those deemed necessary and fit for the Karalians next generation. He sees no reason why a human female needs to accompany him on this journey, but after the trials he's sure he'll pick the strongest female both physically and mentally. But he never expected Bronwyn to stir emotions he's never felt before.
Bronwyn is a skim, the lowest of the lowest left on Earth. When she's picked a lottery winner she can't help but feel the odds are stacked against her in the trials with the other 6 winners being pents. But she's determined to find a new place to ensure her brother and his family have a chance to live on the new planet. She's got her work cut out for her to prove she's not just a skim or a female, but an equal to Quin and can carry her weight.
When they are stranded Bron will prove to Quin that she is his equal, but will they survive and make it back to Karal?

Great love story.

I really like the Karal stories. The couples always find a way to defeat obstacles in their path and grow to love each other. In this book Bron (a skim) finds she has won the Karal lottery with six other women all from the pents. The Karal want to see if the difference in their lifestyles will be an advantage in the search for a new earth. Quin is drawn to Bron and chooses her for his mate. At first he feels he has to hide his feelings. However once they are in space he realizes orders he has been given about sharing technology are dangerous and Bron learns to "read" his emotions whether they show or not. The two of them become a team when their mission becomes dangerous and they fight together to get back home.

Unique

I love stories that make me want to redeem the heroes. Quin is so controlled that he wants to stay emotionless. He doesn't want anything but a son and to be a warrior. Bron was born of the working class called Skim. The only way for her to have a family is to be a part of the lottery that will send her to an alien planet. I love the adventure, the intrigue. I am wondering what happens next.

Cold fish hiding his feelings

This is the story of hope. A woman with little hope of having a happy life or future on Earth gets the opportunity to have a new life with an alien on another planet. She decides to go for it but finds the potential father of her child is a cold fish but knows under the facade he has deep feelings when he allows her to see it. With time and working together as a team she gets him to relax and be a real couple. Good read.

I was looking for a quick easy read. This is set in the future where the Earth is dying. Women enter a lottery in order to have a chance to leave earth and become a mate with an Alien race. This is the first in the series and I wanted to enjoy this but the story was great and I did not love it. The alien was just an annoying jerk for most of the book. I wanted a better hero. He did get better eventually.
