This was a good read. A very entertaining and well-written history of the Society of Jesus, starting from the beginning with St. Ignatius and his companions such as Peter Faber and St. Francis Xavier to General Arrupe and Pope John Paul II naming Fr.Paolo Dazza as his delegate when General Arrupe was sick.

There were definitely many memorable characters that I would like to read more about such as Père Michel d'Herbigny and Athanasius Kircher.

The author definitely has a bias against the Order (and Catholicism in general), but all in all, I thought it was still a great read and a great introduction to the history of the Jesuits.

PS I am a Catholic.
