Letting go of a past that won’t stay there has never been harder. After another failed attempt at stopping James, Ava finds herself back in Seth’s arms. There, she finds the courage to put the monster out of her mind, get on with her life, and accept the love he gives her. Slowly learning to set herself free, Ava and Seth are closer than ever to the happy ending they deserve. Too bad James has something else in mind, and Detective Dawson has been kicked off the case. Determined to end James once and for all, Dawson sets out to track him down without a badge holding him back. Ava trusts Dawson to handle it, but leaving a desperate man on his own against James might just come back to bite her. Will Ava finally be able leave her haunted past behind? Or will she drown in it until the promise of her future is dead and gone?

Too often in a series when it ends, it feels like something is missing. Not so in this case. This book has a comfort to it. Yes that is strange to say, but even though there is great evil hanging over Ava, Seth, Dawson, Clarissa and Sterling this book does the mundane on picking up life and going forward. Emily has put doubts, fears; hope all into the every day. Nothing is left out. It is life. Where is James, is he smarter than Dawson, and when will he strike. We know he will, and the fear of this taking so long, trying to be normal is wearing. I found my heart beating faster, I was second guessing does he have a helper, and who could it be, has Dawson turned, and then the ending of the book comes. It ends in the only way it could/should, the helper is reveled, really another victim, Dawson is not bad he is our hero. Now for a real end; do you go to the bar and toast, what do you do? Emily got the ending right. It could be no other way. I commend her as a young writer for being so talented. All the books I read and no one has done an ending like this. This series is not a copy cat; it is a standalone series and well worth the time and energy to read. I can hardly wait for 10 years from now to see how this talented author grows. She is going to be a number one best seller for years to come. I find after reading all the books in this series James is still in my head, not many writers can do that. James is a complicated soul, is being a serial killer heredity thing, a learned or life experience. Was his upbringing the reason and you got to wonder how many lawyers would be serial killers if they were not lawyers.
I have been waiting, not so patiently, for the release of this book since I devoured the others in this series. The finale is everything the story needed to come full circle. There are no loose ends when all is said and done.
Letting Go picks up right where Two Steps Back finishes. Seth is healing from being shot and carved up, Ava just had a seizure, Dawson has gone rogue, Carissa and Sterling are "getting to know" each other and James is missing. I loved the moments where is was Seth and Ava and they were just themselves; free in the moment, happy and in love. Of course, there was always the treat of James' reappearance at any moment that had everyone on their toes.
Of course, at some point James had to show back up. Little did he know the fight he was going to be in for. Ava grew so much as a character in this book. She turned all of her fear and anxiety into strength and determination to put an end to the madness once and for all. James found help from an unexpected source that lead him right to where he wanted to be...When things finally come to a head, I was a little let down. I wanted some more drama to unfold but the ending was rather swift. I found myself wanting more, yet completely satisfied with the way things turned out.
In true Emily R Pearson fashion, there were a few twists along the way. She had my heart racing and breaking at the same time. But there was plenty of humor to lighten things up at the wit and smart mouth of Carissa, Sterling and Mrs. Dearborn. I look forward to seeing what else she will come up with to entertain me now that this series is complete (or is it....maybe a book for Carissa...please?)

Pearson I received this book from the author for an honest review. Oh man!! This book had me happy, sad and full of tears. The book picks up right after book 2 ends. The girls are back from being taken by James. The couples (Seth and Ava plus Carissa and Sterling) are healing and working through everything. It was fun to see our couples being couples. Yes the threat of James was still THERE but we were able to reform bonds and LAUGH!! It seems laughing had been lost on our characters. Seth and Ava were reconnecting and trying to move pat Ava’s guilt and shame for everything that happened. Seth is trying to figure out how he is feeling with the new news he received from his late father about James and his parentage. Carissa and Sterling were warming the sheets and dare I hope, falling in love too??? Dawson is tracking James and we have a new detective helping to protect the girls. When the books twists begin to play out I was like WOW another thing I didn’t see coming!!! The final show down with James was fast and happy but then full of tears and emotions!! I am excited to read book 4 which is Carissa and Sterling’s book!!
I was so excited to be able to read this! I had been anxiously waiting for the book to get back to Seth/Ava focus and Ms. Pearson doesn't disappoint! I was surprised with some of the twists she wrote in but looking back at it I see how they all fit in. I also want to make Mrs. Davenport my new bff! It was great to see Ava grow as a character with strength and not be so fragile. Yes I do realize the girl has been through a lot of traumatic experiences but it was great to read she isn't going to let it define her. This world would be so much better if we could clones some Seth's around! I'm hopeful to see a novella or something as I would like to see this go farther if at all possible but that's just me. I'm never ready to give up on the books! Great read!
What a fitting conclusion to an amazing love story! Emily did a fantastic job of tying up all of the loose ends and reconnecting Seth in Ava in a love story that will stay with you for years to come. Letting Go is the perfect title to this final installment in this series, as they both had a lot of 'letting go' to do. I won't give you any spoilers but if you're looking for thrilling ride start with Moving Forward and read the whole series - Emily keeps you on the edge of your seat, makes you cry, cheer for the good guy (even the bad guy at times), and fall in love with an amazing cast of characters.
I had no doubt that this would be another 5 star must read romantic suspense :) I was right once again coz this amazingly talented young author just keeps getting better! ... A riveting story with so many twists & turns it will keep you glued to one spot reading and the pages turning!! ... I was gifted this in exchange for an honest review, and I honestly loved this and the whole series : ) ... I strongly recommend reading them in order as this is book 3, so go grab them all right now!!
I great conclusion to this series. Ava is still in danger from James and Dawson is determined to make him pay for all he has put them through over the years and let Ava have the life she deserves with Seth. This conclusion had many twists and turns a couple I was definitely not expecting but it goes full circle and doesn't leave us with any question's unanswered. Another fab read from Emily and I cant wait to see what comes next.

Finally ava's nightmare is over! But she still had a rough road to get it to end and looses one of the most important person in her life after loosing her parents. I enjoyed seeing a good ending for ava and clarissa they both deserved it.
